Board Guidelines
Welcome to the Jewish Attachment Parenting Forum, a mother-to-mother support forum.

This forum is designed to be a friendly discussion board to discuss, support, and advocate all areas of Attachment and Jewish Parenting. Our goal is to create a community of Jewish mothers or mothers-to-be who are looking to forge a close bond with their children. Through your direct or indirect participation here you agree to make a personal effort to maintain a comfortable and respectful atmosphere for our guests and members.

Attachment parents tend to be critical thinkers. Critical thinking sometimes requires that hard questions be asked. Discussion and even debate is acceptable and encouraged on the board, and we ask that the following guidelines be observed:

1. Be respectful. Part of what makes us a thriving, growing community is that we don't all agree with each other. When disagreeing, please maintain a respectful tone. There is no place for a personal attack in our community. We suggest you read and re-read your words before you post them. Phrases such as IME (in my experience) and IMO (in my opinion) are helpful when expressing a strong opinion.
If you have issues with another member of the community, please try to work it out yourselves or turn to the moderators privately for help. Issues between two forum members are to be kept private.

2. The Jewish Attachment Parenting Forum welcomes Jews from any stream of Judaism and any level of observance. However, no attacks on the Torah (written or oral) are permitted. Discussion without attack is, of course, welcome.

3. Ours is a Jewish forum. We have no relationship to the New Testament, nor to any of its content. Posts with quotes from the New Testament will be deleted by the moderators. Missionizing in any way will cause someone to be banned without notice.

4. Discussions about intimacy and relationships are welcome. Please maintain proper modesty at all times. Sexually explicit material is strictly forbidden.

Some sections of the Jewish Attachment Parenting Forum may have additional guidelines. By posting to those sections you acknowledge that you have read and agree to those guidelines.

In addition, if there is a topic or area of discussion that you would like to see here, please let us the moderators know.

While JATP welcomes lurkinig, we do require new members to introduce themselves (in the "introductions" section of "Jewish Geography" so we know who is participating in our community. New members have 2 weeks from the activation of their membership to introduce themselves to the board.

Please keep signatures to a 2-line limit.
