Omar for President?, Is this true?

So on Global, the station that shows House, they sometimes have brief trivia bits during the commercials. One they've shown a few times lately is one I'm having trouble believing, so I thought I'd ask here to see if you guys had heard anything about it.

According to these trivia bits, Omar Epps is considering running as an independent in the 2008 US federal election.

Does this strike anyone else as odd? First of all, I've never heard about him being involved in politics before (of course I don't know that much about the dude), plus aren't he and Keisha about to have a baby? Or did they already have him? Regardless, it's probably not a very good time to run for office, dontcha think? And what about House? He couldn't do both, and TPTB seem to like him more than they like Chase and Cameron (and always have, considering how many Foreman centered eps we had even when they were still working under House) so they probably aren't going to write him out anytime soon.

And then there's the whole Clinton vs. Obama thing. Everybody knows one of them will be the next president.

Does anyone know anything about this? The trivia bits have never been wrong before.... :unsure:

Wow! Wow! I've never heard about this before. And yes, it IS odd.
I don't know about Omar much, but I thought he would be more interested with art, music, acting, etc; not politics. Doesn't he have a recording studio or company?
I think they made a mistake this time... Maybe...
