THIS. IS. IZOKIAAAA!

Alright, Im done. I swear. Anyway, welcome to Izokia, a newly revamped fantasy/post apocalyptic, alternate world RPG. As soon as we get enough members, we will be having out first Undine hatching. -cuddles the cute lil things- More info on Undines and the rest of Izokia's creatures can be found in the Creatures thread, which has been linked to under the header "Izokia Information".

A few characters have already been made by the admins, Kurai and Tox, why dont you check them and their plotfulness out in the Approved Characters forum? Maybe it will give you some ideas of your own. Keep in mind that we LOVELOVELOOOOVE original characters and there a 99% chance we would find some way to fit them in with Izokia's setting. Especially since there are bound to be some warmachines -cough Tox cough- that had their memories wiped by the explosion that ended said war. However, we wont be accepting very many as we dont like too many of one thing. Also, before creating a character, make sure we are still accepting more of their race in the Accepted Characters thread, which is also linked in the header.

By now, the mother's clutch was ready to Hatch. Of course, like all things in Danw City, people had organized a sort of committee for the hatching of the eggs, and the mother had been well taken care of while she brooded over her clutch. And now, the "leader" of the group had started his screaming.

"UNDINE HATCHING! GIT YOUR REARS IN GEAR, PEOPLE.', the woman was squalling, the call passed on and echoed by the many. Today was the day, this was the time, how many would let their chance slip by? Not many, it seemed, as soon enough, people had formed a half-circle around the fountain, a large bowl of fruit for the newly hatched undines placed in the center.

The leader again took charge, laying out the rules to the surrounding people.

'Alright, ladies n gents, no pushin or shovin and if that undine dont wantcha, youll move aside for the person they DO want to come foreward.', the aging woman barked, her voice deep, brassy, and loud. 'The hatchlin's will flash and image or mentally scream the name of the person they want, so iffin youre the person, come claim em so we dont hafta drag you outta hidin. Once you git yer undine, come and grab some fruit for them and PROMPTLY feed them. They can git pretty nasty if you dont and we dont want them eating your finger instead. After you feed them for the first time, they wont get so pushy if you dont feed em promptly cause theyll feel secure enough with you to go git their own. So step right up, laddies and lassies, and try your hand at impressing one o' these here undines!'

Ezekiel huffed, his wings were trapped, it was a unanimous decision between the two of them that laying low would be the best of options, atleast while they were in the city. He had his arm wrapped around his brother, carefully nuzzling into his neck as he let his wings squirm in the cloak that was wrapped around his shoulders and back. Brotherrr, I dont like having this thing around my wings! He huffed, just for a breif moment, fighting away the urge to tear the cloak off and preen his beautiful feathers.

But a long sigh hit him as he again turned to leaning and nuzzling his brother, his eyes however were flicking below him. The people and croud naturally saught out their attentions first, a mention of a hatching clutch had found their attentions particularally interested. You remember the Undie we had as tots Brother?...Father accedentally ate the little thing.. He reminiced absently, though hardly sounding remourcefull for the poor ill begotten creature, in truth it had, on some sick twisted level, entertained the both of them that their father would consume such a thing.

It felt like it had been ages and mere moments since she had last walked the streets of the City. She remembered distinctly it from her last visit, but that seemed so long ago, as if the memory were blurred as if seen through water, but still clear in the details. Ever since she had been turned loose after her first Change, she had actually avoided the center of the City, living in the more dangerous outskirts. She had nothing of value to steal, so most of the bands of thieves left her pretty well alone, and she tended to stay by herself. But now that she knew of other werewolves....They were a pack, weren't they? But that had nothing to do with today.

Sam walked along, keeping her gaze down so as not to draw attention to herself. She didn't want attention of that sort, especially not from those few who knew she was a werewolf. Her eyes gave her away instantly. But one thing did make her glance up. Someone was yelling from up ahead. She was still several blocks away, but her wolf-aided ears picked up on the words as if they had been shouted into her ear. Undine hatching. That could be interesting. Quickening her pace, Sam soon reached the fountain where the eggs had been laid, noticing the large crowd already gathered. Instead of pushing up to the front, Sam decided it might be better to stay in the back where the chaos would be less. Of course, she would have less chance of getting one of the newly hatched things, but it couldn't hurt to try. Sam glanced around her, just to check and see if anyone she knew was there as well. Maybe one of the other wolves was there...

It was warm, though tempered by the cooling breeze at this height. Still glistening mirror like black scales absorbed the offered warmth, funneling it deeper into the body, warming her body and soul. Large wings were laid limply, all the better to sunbake and gather what warmth they could. One of life’s little pleasures, the sensations of a good basking. Breathing came in shallow puffs, eyes closed against the light as she rumbled, a soft sound, a purr deep from within her throat. It was not much sun, not much warmth, not like old before the sky had broken, but still enough to warm this old soul.

He loved to bask as well, her lost mate. Left to the shards of time and mind.

But she knew he wasn’t far, not he never left her. His spirit lingered she believed and Kasumi was apt to take that belief to the end of her long days. Still she wondered. Could he feel the sun’s warmth as a shadow, a specter and a ghost of himself? That was one question she would have to think on, read, pursue in the archives of her knowledge. For now she just rested.

That was until she rather loud yelling woke her from her half sleep. Eyelid’s peeled back, golden orbs glinting as she stirred. Black wings fluttered, talons scrapping against the tiles of the roof. Tail lashed slightly as large angular head raised, the black statue on top of the high rooftop coming to life.

The sight caused a woman passing by to shriek and run inside, apparently startled out of her wits. Kasumi however acted like she didn’t hear the yell and arched her neck, maw peeling apart to yawn widely in a cat like manner. She closed her maw, head tilting as she listened to the din of a crowd, excited people. Someone was yelling, calling.

The words told of an undine hatching.

The thought stirred the old creature from her sleep daze, though many would claim she seemed dazed or off most of the time anyways. Still she tilted her black head in the direction of the assembly.

“It would be nice too see a hatching in person,” she murmured, “instead of reading about it… don’t you agree Abraxus?”

Still the last time she had been drawn somewhere it had not ended in a pleasant manner at all with a quarrel and battle between angels and werewolves. Not a pleasant afternoon surprise at all. Still the exercise had been nice, even if she had not liked having to interfere. But they had ruined the party she wanted to see.

Spreading her wings she walked sedately to the edge of the roof and jumped off, wings spread as she caught the wind and carried her aloft. She circled overhead, a blackform against the dark odd colored clouds. Then she tilted on wingtip and brought herself down near the assembly but perched on another rooftop, a dark form in a statue like manner, neck craned to thoughtfully watch the hatching. It was true Kasumi wished to be closer, in the crowd but she knew that the humans reaction to her had at times been a bit hard on the ears. So instead she settled for perching close by and ignoring or possibly not seeing any nervous glances in her direction.

The last thing on Dmitriy's mind was an Undine clutch, seeing as it was rather hard to concentrate on anything else but an unhappy three year-old child. "Saveli, hush, you're making people stare," he muttered, bouncing the angelic-looking child in his arms. The little girl gave him a look that would make the sun go back into hiding and continued to beat on his chest with her tiny fists. But at least she'd stopped screaming. Mitya grimaced and shifted the girl into the crook of one arm, easily ignoring the frustrated sounds from his youngest child. Well, the youngest one he was taking care of, anyway.

"Papa!" Save reached up to tug on his hair, effectively gaining his attention within an instant. "Papa, that lady said there was a 'atching. I wanna go see!" she squirmed in his arm, craning her neck to stare over his shoulder. Mitya swiveled around to stare in the same direction, wondering how he'd walked right past it. But sure enough, there was the typical large crowd of people. The vampire shivered slightly, not one for large groups of people, but another tug on his hair made him decide to move over. Anything to keep his daughter from crying again. He hated kids...and he hated when women forced him to keep his own.

Huddled next to his brother, wings also covered by a cloak, Makiel couldnt help but croon as soft as he could, enjoying the attention, but unwilling to draw attention to themselves. They needed to lay low while Zeke's wing healed anyway. Not that it had much healing left to do. Demons and fallen angels had incredibly fast healing times as it was and making sure it was clean and dressed properly did nothing but help. Returning the soft, affectionate nuzzles, Makiel simply snuggled closer to his brother, offering comfort. I know, it makes me feel trapped too. Tomorrow itll be better since your wing will be healed.

Gently slipping a hand under Ezekiel's cloak, Makiel traced the healing tissue with a light finger. Snickering, the fallen angel withdrew his hand, twisting his head to gaze at the squat woman barking out orders. Sighing softly, Makiel replied, Ah, I do. Even after we told him that she was just skin and bones. I still remember him picking at his teeth for thr rest of the sevenday..

An interested noise bubbling out of his throat, Makiel grabbed his brother's hand, leading him closer to the edge of the building to stare excitedly down at the fountain. 'Look, Brother!', he chattered. 'One of them is hatching!' Inhuman eye-sight zoned in on the eggs, watching as one of them began to hatch.

One egg, bobbing and rocking with happy abandon, was going to be the first. The mostly dark green, leathery shell was stretching and stretching, coming close several times to hatching. Then, abruptly, the egg held perfectly still. The mother because to warble in confusion and worry, but as she started to swim towards it, the egg erupted!

The little hatchling leapt from the water, landing atop the cement wall of the fountain perfectly, crowing his triumph at being the best, the first, and the biggest. Then he glanced about as if wondering why HIS person wasnt around. Letting out an impaitent squawk, the undine flashed a mental image of a certain female to the crowd, demanding that she appear in front of him.

So much for not drawing attention. The only reason Sam knew that something had hatched was the sudden surge of the crowd, hoping the newly hatched Undine would choose them. And the only reason she knew she had been chosen by the little guy was the fact that everyone in the crowd got a mental shot of her face. So much for laying low. Carefully, with her wolf telling her to just shove the people over, Sam wove her way through the crowd to the front of it, kneeling by the edge of the fountain.

The tiny Undine chirrupped in delight as Sam showed up, His arriving at last. Good, she had not left. And now to fill his empty belly. With a nimble leap, the green creature hopped to Sam's knee and climbed to her hand where he promptly squawked at her, sending an image of food and the feeling of hunger. Cradling him gently, Sam stood from the fountain, completely oblivious to the two beings also watching from their perches on a nearby roof. Hell, even her wolf was taken by the tiny wet creature. Sam could hear her thrumming in a motherly fashion in her head. Almost cooing to the creature to comfort him so he wouldn't start biting her fingers as food, Sam walked over to the bowl and took a piece of fruit from it.

The green Undine was obviously satisfied with her offering, for he bit into it readily, crowing in pleasure as he filled his belly on the sweet stuff. Soon enough, he was curled in Sam's hand, his belly bulging slightly with his first meal. Sam picked a spot again near the edge of the crowd, but still near the fountain to sit, the tiny Undine beginning to snore slightly. "What shall we call you, eh?" she asked the tiny thing. Surprisingly, the image of a water plant came to her head. So the little thing wasn't asleep. Too bad Sam didn't recognize the plant. So, instead she made a guess. "Cress?" She got a small croon in return. "Cress it is then." For some reason, her wolf was also pleased.

She watched, calm, sedate an aloof interest as the crowd milled about the fountain. Finally one egg seemed to start bobbing, rocking, moving. It’s sudden movements drawing her eyes to zero into the little glistening orb. Kasumi narrowed her eyes, watching with interest as the leather shell stretched, pulled. It’s texture must be somewhat rubbery then, just as the scraps of text she had collected said. Then the little egg suddenly stopped and Kasumi, thoughtfully she stretched her neck to peer down at the fountain.

“Hmm I wonder what the death rate in the shell is for Undines..” she mentally commented to herself. It was said, a life dying before taking its first breath but then.. ah!

The dragoness tilted her head as the green shell exploded and sent a little baby undine into the world. The little creature leaping forth, a tug twitched at the black and silver dragons mouth as she dipped her head thoughtfully. The being appeared strong, that was good she had read. Ah! And there was the mental call for its bonded, she this one would not go wild if its person fed it. Intriguing that it sent a picture of the one it wanted. She looked familiar…

“Fascinating, with its mental search it gathers an image of who it wants,” Kasumi murmured under her breath, thoughtfully contemplating the bonding ability of the undines.

Aloof, serene eyes watched as Sam stepped forward and began to feed her new pet, one bonded down.

The clutch-mother trilled in happiness, glad to see one child gone and bonded, even if it made her a bit sad to see him leave her protection.

(Posted Image)
And then another egg started rolling and rocking its movements jerky and unsure. Indescively, a small tearing sound made itself known, a soft plop announcing the birth of another Undine. However, this one didnt make a flashy appearance and instead crawled nervously up the wall, huddling upon there before creeling and mind-calling, K-k-kasumi! The undine glanced around, spotting the dragon on a building far away before hanging her head.

If Her's didnt want her, she could always leave.. It wasnt like she was the best anyway. The tiny Undine laid down on the warm surface, content to lay there and die if she wasnt wanted.

The dragoness yawned again, sedately continuing to half watch the crowd and hatching, a serene and quiet black statue. Then a slight movement, another egg rolling and rocking drew Kasumi’s attention and she watched contently to the scene. The little creature was certainly taking its time, little claws pushing out the shell until it plopped out of the shell. Kasumi nodded slightly then drifted to look at the crowd, interested to see which one this little purple undine would want. It seemed to nervous, scared as it huddled near the wall.

Until an uncertain mind creeled out, calling.. her name. Kasumi it wanted.

That did get the dragon’s attention and she turned to look at the pool, the tiny spot of purple showing where the undine huddled. The dragon blinked, feet shuffling. The little undine had called for her? Interesting.. it wasn’t like there was much of a chance of any humans her with her name.

Kasumi tilted her head as the undine hung its head, lying down on the warm surface, stretched out and pitiful. Was it sick? Hmm.. with a grunt the dragon uncoiled from her purchase, black wings spreading out slightly and fanning. Necking arching as the dragon moved to the edge of the building, coming in full view of the crowd. With a slight jump she jumped off the roof and landed on the ground below with a thud. Aloofly she began to stride forward, several people scrambling to get out of the dragon’s way. Her pace was quicker than was normal for the quiet dragon, talons scrapping against the hard ground.

In short time she had strode her way over to the fountain. Arching her neck she lowered her angular head before snuffling at the tiny purple undine, her manner very gentle with the little tiny life.

“No need to fret little thing, come and eat..” the dragon state in soothing, serene tones.

Then looking away she hooked a piece of fruit with her talon and brought it back to the undine. If she remembered correctly, which she did, she was to feed the baby. The sight of food seemed to perk the little purple creature, more as she nervous shuffled around before biting into the fruit.

“There there, I came see?” rumbled the dragon before with dexterous paw she offer her hand for the Undine to crawl onto. It was so small against her larger self, and yet she handled it gently.

The third egg, however, hatched without much fanfare, hatching open with a cheerful "pop!" before bright, neon blue undine simply hopped up onto the fountain edge, chirping brightly before boldly jumping off it and running off towards a certain vampire. Mityaaaa!, he sing-songed, trotting right up to his feet with a trill of enjoyment.

Mitya hadn't really been paying attention to the hatching, intent on staring at the rather large dragon in the area. Seriously now, how had he missed that? How do you walk right past a dragon without noticing it? The vampire shook his head slightly and glanced down at the child in his arms, unable to help his own smile. Saveli looked so enthralled in whatever was happening. At least one of them was paying attention - Mitya couldn't be bothered. All that mattered was that his daughter wasn't causing a fuss. Not that he didn't like attention, he just didn't like the kind of attention he got with a squalling child.

But quite suddenly Save burbled happily and reached out towards the fountain with tiny toddler hands, squirming in double time. "Papa! Lookit!" And so Mitya was forced to look where she was pointing, just in time to hear Mityaaaa! sing-songed through his head. It was a good thing the undine had chosen to vocalize his choice, else Mitya might have missed the occurance altogether. The vampire stared down at the neon-blue creature blankly.

As the undine trilled at him and rubbed against his legs, Mitya's other daughter appeared beside him, a virtual replica of him...only female. "You have to feed it," Kseniya sighed, reaching over and snatching the toddler from his arms. "Go get some fruit and feed it," the older girl repeated, nudging him mercilessly in the side. Mitya nearly yelped and stumbled forward, giving the girl a glare that had to run in the family. Kseniya shrugged it off and aimed to kick him, but the vampire quickly scooped up the undine and elbowed his way back up towards the fountain.

Trying to keep ahold of the squirming blue undine, he snatched up some fruit from the bowl and quickly held it up to the thing. The undine trilled again and eagerly gobbled it up, taking everything Mitya gave him until it let out a little burp and abruptly fell asleep. The vampire hummed absently to himself, carting the undine back to his less-than-thrilled older daughter, and incredibly delighted younger daughter. "Cyan!" Saveli pointed at the undine and Mitya shook his head.

"Can't name him Cyan. Not only is that a girl's name, it's-"

"CYAN!" the toddler glowered at him.

"Azzurra," Mitya reached over and tapped her nose. The girl pouted, but his mind was made up. Sure, the name he'd chosen wasn't much better, but it was still better. Kseniya just rolled her eyes. Her father wasn't much better than the kid she held.

Cedric was watching from the sidelines, much like Sam had. He too found the ongoing hatching by chance, drawn nearer by her scent. He fought a hopeless battle, three personalities, all parts of himself, struggling for dominance. His face was filled with changing emotions, most of them not so pleasing to those around him. From time to time a small growl rose from his throat and fell again. His fingers, his jaw was itching, itching to hunt in this careless mass of humans... but that was right before he spottet the dragon.

Raising his head he remembered her words and calmed down a little, just enough to notice that Sam had found a partner... partner? What were those Undines? He had never seen any of them... Maybe eaten a wild one... but that was it. They weren't useful, were they? Maybe they were giving meat for free? No... probably not...

But what had he stumbled into then? They were quite tiny, rarely a bite but they would probably grow a little more... how large could those beasts get? He was confused, at least at the moment his human self was dominant. When the werewolf took over, he just felt curious, willing to play with the little creature before eating it. Did those beasts taste good?

The hatching was getting under way swiftly now as the largest egg of the clutch, and the one the mother worried over most, began to hop and spin about as if fighting with itself. First it jerked one way, then back the way it had came, the slightly elastic, leathery shell stretching into an oblong shape before it popped open with furious squeals of protest and dislike. This time, however, not one but TWO undines leapt up out of the way, identical in every way.

Both kept glaring at eachother, their black and green splashed head held as high as they could. It was clear neither of them would back down before the other, but as one's belly growled it keened piteously, carreening towards the food bowl that was too high for him to reach. Ploping down, he glared out at the crowd. Hmpf! As if any of these people could impress him! They were all average, he wanted someone who was different, unique. Let them try and gain his favor, he would show them how wrong they were.

His sister, however, snorted condescendingly. Stupid males, she already had her's picked out. And he knew it. He was just mad that he hadnt claimed them first. Smugly, she turned at glare hauntily at two face-less people on thier lofty perch. Abruptly, she paused, suddenly confused. But...why was there two of them? Quickly covering her confusion, she simply snapped, Makiel, Ezekiel! She was hungry and she demanded service. Immeadiately.
