Hope

[[ ]Ess'enen Shieasu]

"I hope so..."

Ess was at an unusual loss for words, simply lost in the situation at hand, but he wasn't sure why. He was merely lost in the thought, drifting off thinking about his family, his father..... The circular motion that Isabelle was making on his arm wasn't doing anything to snap him back to conciousness either, it just soothed his muscles throughout his body.

The sound of the faint shuffling merely echoed through his head.

She grew increasingly concerned as he seem to drift further from reality, and allowed a glazed expression to slip over his face. She tilted her head slightly to the side with a confused, and worried look plastered over it. She’d been about to speak, when the old man made a sound of accomplishment, and began moving towards the tunnel back to them. She let her hand pull away from his for arm and stepped to the tunnel, allowing her expression to shift to one that only seemed mildly worried.

“Do you need help elder?”

A muffled grumble of what sounded like a no responded as the old man appeared with his weight thrown into the cane, and large book tucked under his arm.

“This book I know holds the story of the alternate source of power. One detached from the gods, that is the likely source of both the dying rock we live on, as well as the reason that the gods left… Now the matter is to find it..”

He dropped the large book on the table, he glanced over at Isabella as she cast her own worried look to Ess, before quickly returning it to the old hermit. She blushed brightly at the fact that she’d been caught. The old man’s chest rumbled in a deep chuckle once more at the expression on the young she-elfs face

Ess snapped out of his trance when he heard the book hit the desk. He quickly looked over at Isabelle, seeing clearly in the change of her aura color that he had been worrying her. He immeadiately moved over next to her, keeping an eye on the book the elder had found, eargerly waiting to see what it's contents held, hopefully they were the answers he had been constantly searching for... what powered this world?.....where did they all go?.... for as unconcerned for other races as the elves where rumored to be, he sure was going out of his way to help out the world full of those who need not be saved.... or is that just the inner demon thinking now? It was hard to tell apart anymore....

"What does the book say?"

[[ ]Isabelle]

He returned to his attentive self and she found the heat of a body suddenly next to her as the elder turned his eyes back to the book, cracking the cover and turning over each of the old parchment pages. His old eyes which seem to see nothing of the physical world stopped near the center of the page.

"When the gods first came to this planet, they found that there was already an untapped source of energy pulsing and running untamed in the core of the planet. Kain Shieasu was the one who lead the forging of a container of the power source, and the taming of it.."

The elders slender fingers drew over to the edge of the page.

"Vary few things are said on how it is that all of this went about since Kain wanted to be sure that none found the power source and tried to use it for anything other then powering the planet."

Isabella turned her bright eyes over to Ess.

"Ess.. you remember the digger.. he'd found something under the city ruins.. what if what he found wasn't just some crazed religious source, but the power... Those nuts could vary well have found a way. They have control of almost all sources of information.”

"If thats the case it certainly wouldn't be the first time some crazed fanatic stumbled upon something that he could kill himself with... We need to find a way to fix my grandfather's power source, and starting with that moronic religious fool seems to be one of the only options we have available right now."

He thought for a moment, Kain Shieasu.... grandpa? was he really that strong? But I thought father said he was assassinated? If that is really the case.... then who was able to strike him down? And why didn't they finish the job with father? This doesn't make any sense....

He turned back to Isabelle.

"So what do you think would be a good plan of action?"

[[ ]Isabelle]

Isabella rested her left hand to her chin, as her right hand cradled her elbow. A thoughtful look was spread over her face as she listened to what he had to say. They didn't know much more then they had before, other then that the reason her and Ess had even met up was now linked to the reason the planet was being abandoned, and left to die. The elder had turned this milky gaze on the two of them as they built a plan.

Isabella turned her blue orbs back up to Ess as she asked him what she thought.

"I think it's best to take the annoyance out first.. If they have found the way to the center, or anything else we can use it to our own advantage.

She replied with a happy, and surprisingly confident smile.

"Very good point, it would be best to get power out of the hands of those useless incompetants."

Ess looked back over to the elder and bowed slightly.

"Your help has been very much appriecieated."

He turned back to Isabelle.

"Are you ready to leave? I can take us straight there."

[[ ]Isabelle]

Her smile softened as he bowed and thanked the elder. She followed his thanking with bounding over to the old elf and in a vary loving manner she kissed him tenderly on the cheek, asking if there was anything that she could do before they began. The elder smiled warmly at her but brushed the offer off. His shaky body stood, and retreating the book, he returned to the darkness of the tunnel. Isabella returned to Ess's side as he asked if she was ready to go. She thought for a moment.

"I believe so, but I think that if were seeking out their secrets, well have to make our presents a little covert, till we at least know where they are hiding them.."

She wrapped her fingers wrapping round his bicep, the thought of teleporting a little less nerve wracking with physical contact.

Ess pulled up his hands and made a quick series of hand signs releasing the seals nessicary for the teleportation.

"Arcane Style: Spatial Distortion."

Both of them fizzled out of sight within milliseconds of the release, moving off to their next destination.
