Just got the latest ESPM Magazine "The Age Issue",
where they run age analytics for all major sports. On page 84, someone named Lindsay Berra has a nice little summary on Claude Giroux of the Flyers. 24 year old star in the league. Craig Custance also contributed with Peak Age calculations from "Hockey Prospectus". For forwards it's 23.5 years Defensemen it's 25.8 years and for goalies it's 24.4 years of age where player enters peak. That is on average. As it applies to our franchise...we are BELOW average. Again, PLAYER DEVELOPMENT. This is why I flip out and spout off about the mishandling of Okposo, Bailey and others who many label BUSTS or discredit as never ever reaching (insert production level here). They may need longer here (I say add 2 years to league average to anyone not named Tavares wearing and Isles uni). BTW, this is a magazine we get at work for work related reference, I would never buy this crapola with these stats and crazy articles anyway. I remember when ESPN was great. -------------------- ![]() ![]() ![]() Showing zero tolerance for koolaiders and SnoWang apologists since 2007. This lifelong Islanders fan is sick and tired of pointing out the obvious to the oblivious. I long for the day when I can show up to Charles Wang's wake with a shovel and patiently wait for everyone to pay their respects so I can pay mine by burying the bastid. |
