Most of you won't give a care about this but those who are on this graphic are the main posters that formed the nucleus of this board many, many years ago.

Snowman, Steve, you remember what year we started at MSG? I'm thinking it was around '98?

I came across this looking at old archives of graphics I had. The quality of photo editing software wasn't that good 15 years ago.

The Islanders Axis of Evil: Wang, Snow, DiPietro.

They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.

I long for the day when I can show up to Charles Wang's wake with a shovel and
patiently wait for everyone to pay their respects so I can pay mine by burying the bastid.

I started going to the MSG boards around 2000-01 season I think. If you guys remember the original AOL, they used to have their own style message boards for every pro team. I started there but didn't really care for it. Was on MSG.com one day looking at articles, saw the link for the message boards, and the rest was history. As CANADA mentioned a few weeks ago, he somehow remembered I originally started out as Scatch38. After making a total idiot out of myself on the Ranger forum one day, I decided to rebrand myself as SnowyOnLI. So obviously at that point it had to be the summer of 2001 because that's when they signed Snow. The fights with the mods over there were classic. It almost became a good thing to get banned. And the fights with the Ranger fans were legendary. After Neo came up with his first message board the MSG boards became a ghost town. I've always wondered if the mods there always wondered what the hell happened to everybody. If those mods weren't such losers we probably would have all stayed there.

I remember the tears in my eyes when Nick hoisted my avatar to the rafters.

Since I'm still very very active on what's become of the Rangers board (with RWW), Kocur called someone the new "TimoTime" and it was all I could do to keep from busting a gut laughing.

I will tell you the one bastid I do miss from that graphic is Captain27. He was one funny dude.

Yeah, Captain27 was a core guy. The unfortunate thing about all of the message board shuffling was that some people got lost between the cracks. Most people are around in one way or another but I guess some people never found their way back.

Just out of curiosity, which board are you referring to? I know RW was here last week for a bit.

Ah yes the good old days. The thing I liked to most then was the ignore button. there were quite a few posters that I never got to see. The one who really sticks to me is 1994, just could'nt stand that A.H.

Jerry, you're the best. Back then you posted more often and kept ALL of us in check.
1994 did his shtick. He was a character.

Between Rangers and Isles fans we had alot of people who knew so much about the game and those years were great because there were fewer rules changes and a deeper rivalry.

Glad this core stayed together.

1994 was a real asswipe. The battles (and graphics) we use to have with him. Those Rag/Isle arguments were monumental.
