Either Montoya or Nabakov should be in net for this one.
Av's play an up tempo game.

From the depth chart looks like Big Al is starting, hopefully he isnt too cold, though he looked good vs Boston considering he hasnt played in 3 weeks. Lets give him the ball and let him run with it, and sprinkle in Nabakov...no more DP. Lets see what happens tonight.

I just want to see this team "click". Move the puck, make sharp passes, get quality shots and play solid defense. And good goaltending.

I know this sounds obvious, but we haven't had a good "game" since the Rags. We have had some good periods and some horrendous ones.

So, I just want to see a solid all around "game". It would be nice to get a win, but I really would be happy with a game that shows us getting out of the funk we're in, whatever the score ends up being.

If this sounds like a surrender flag it isn't, but it is getting old watching a slow start where we fall behind, a nice second where we come back and a sh!t third where we give up three goals and score none.

So, 60 minutes of "good" hockey would be a major upgrade from what we've been watching.

btw,

JIGGS MCDONALD is calling this game tonight!!!

Not the crater faced Ranger fan waiting for spring training.

The Islanders Axis of Evil: Wang, Snow, DiPietro.

They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.

If I can remember correctly they've beaten some pretty good teams with Jiggs behind the mic the last few years. He's a good luck charm. We need one right now.

I like Harmonic but can he stop shooting the puck into the the skates of the opposition when he's on the point??? I must count 4-7 shots like that from him every game.

These refs are brutal tonight. Unacceptable for amateur refs, let alone guys who are paid to do this at the highest level.

Wow- Colorado gets a PP because their player can't skate a crossover?

Interesting.

Wow...did Streit and Bailey turn an awful powerplay into a successful one in about 3 seconds....I'll take it!

These refs should just get off the ice. At this point they're just in the way, if they're not going to call the game properly. Should have been a double minor for beating on Tavares.

Nice job Martin. Way to stick up for Tavares.

I have no problem with the fact that he did that and washed out our PP. You ALWAYS protect your star. The ref had the crosscheck, but he didn't have it until the 6th frigging crosscheck on Tavares. I'm sure if it was Sid the ref would have blown the whistle the minute the guy put 2 hands on his stick.

But Martin sent the EXACT right message....you don't mess with our star. Someone listened to Z's message last year.

Oh definitely. That's a situation where you don't worry about the penalty. JT got mugged. Thank god Martin happened to be on the ice, because you know nobody else would have done it. Montoya got run over and nobody did anything. Team is soft. Get rid of Eaton, Mottau, and Pandolfo. That will be a start.

I don't think the ref was going to call the penalty on the avs until Martin jumped in. He only called it to create an even-man situation.

Matt Martin has been doing that long before Konopka's rally call.

I'm still upset at the 5 pussies on the ice who went up the ice with the puck
after Montoya got bowled over. Screw the powerplay, they should have went after him.
