I'm surprised nobody started a thread on him yet. Has he finally "arrived" or is this just a hot streak? He & Moulson lead the Isles in goals with 6 (who would have thought?). Tamby has 6 in just 8 games...actually he has 6 goals in the last 5 games. He also scored a shootout goal against Carolina and has been named 2nd star twice. Additionally, he & Frans are the only Isles with multiple goal games (he has 2 now). To what do you attribute his new found touch? Has he actually been playing better or is it just luck? I'm just curious if he's starting to find some love on this board. It'd be nice if he could be a scoring threat. That would take some of the heat of the 1st line....just wondering what you people think?

I think its confidence. I think scoring those two goals in Montreal has given a confidence that cant be touched. We knew he could score he just needed to do it in the NHL. The other part is Gordon giving him the ice time that he has after scratching him a few games at the start of the season. For Tambs it was put up or shut up. Im glad hes putting up.

I think it's more then just a hot streak. His whole game is elevated and he is playing with a lot of confidence. If he can keep this up, this is more exciting than anything else right now.

The reason is simple. He's going to the scoring areas regularly now. Whether it continues will depend upon if he continues to do that. For the first few games this year and EVERY game prior to that, he'd float 35' from the net, refuse to go to the goal and stick his nose in front and pay the price. The last 6 games, he's made regular trips to the high slot, the low slot and the doorstep of the crease. No wonder he's begun scoring. The question is, "will he continue to do that". He hasn't scored a goal from further out that 15 feet. Will he continue to get his nose dirty in the high traffic areas that goal scorers excel in, or will he go back to playing like a floater 35' from the net? -------------------- I miss these

Yeah - I think he saw Matt Moulson and the success he was having going to the net. If he continues going to the net and with his skill set, he would be a great find. -------------------- The Boss - The Greatest Goal Scorer Ever

All I can say is I like the new and improved version of Tambellini. I sure hope this is the game he brings forward and this was not just an anomaly. Let's hope this was no Mick Vukota hattrick.

I know people are focusing on the goals. But his play along the boards to me has been the most impressive. I think if he maintains this physical presence he'll get his goals.

A hat trick last night for Tamby. If someone had shown me the team scoring as of 11-1-2009 prior to the season, I would have laughed too hard to even notice Matt Moulson's name.
I hope the new Tambellini continues. I hope the hot streak in general continues. |

I miss Vukota... Anyway, If we get two extra reliable top six forwards (Tambellini and Moulson) to go with Weight, Okposo, and Tavares this team will be a force for a playoff spot. Third and fourth line players we've always had in abundance. Realistically there is still a lot of growing for Tambellini and he won't be turning into Mario Lemieux anytime soon but it is a nice twist to his story. Plus he does a lot of the outreach programs for the team so he seems like a nice guy that could use the support. -------------------- ![]() It takes two to lie. One to lie and one to listen. IMO...
ready? he HAS arrived. Yep, me, one of his harshest critics is on the tamby-wagon. His work ethic away from the puck to his decisions with the puck have all improved but his timing seems better because he's not hesitating to make a move either offensively or defensively. We saw last eyar when he was struggling and he scored how his teammates reacted. He's a guy they like in that clubhouse. Now that he's had 4 strong games in a row and produced I feel is enough for his confidence. We now have a VERY good problem. A late blooming inexpensive player on a 1-way contract for rest of this year playing well. Come trade deadline, you can package him in a deal or negotiate an extension or new contract. I'm not saying I want either, just throwing it out there for conversation. -------------------- ![]() The GOing, GOing GONE system. By Scott Gordon. |

He has, every week until this one...only the popularity was the Tambellini threads debating him being invisible or us needing to be patient. -------------------- ![]() The GOing, GOing GONE system. By Scott Gordon. |
