But, in an unexpected turn of events, all eyes are on Uniondale, N.Y., as the Nassau Coliseum is now the focus of an intense bidding war, with four viable partnerships making a run at this potentially lucrative market. The stakes are high, the competition fierce, and underlying stories are many. At stake is one of the most valuable pieces of business up for grabs in recent years.

To CHI: Randy Robitaille
To NYI: Jeff Hamilton

A young scorer who played great for us while we had him, and had a decent year on a bad team.
Could easily fill in the gap in the 2nd line and his salary is only $450,000.

QUOTE
Split time between the NY Islanders and the Bridgeport Sound Tigers (AHL) ... Played in 13 games with the Islanders totaling 8 points (2 goals, 6 assists) ... Notched 1st NHL goal Dec. 17 vs. Colorado ... Completed his 1st 2-point game Dec. 19 at Toronto ... Scored points in 4 consecutive games with the Islanders from Dec. 17-23 totaling 5 points (1goal, 4 assists) ... Registered a shot in all 13 games with the Islanders ... Finished 2nd on Bridgeport in goals and tied for 3rd in points playing only 39 games ... Led the team with 15 power-play goals ... Is the Sound Tigers' all-time leader in goals with 89 ... Moved into 2nd place on the Sound Tigers' all-time scoring list with 155 points ... Missed remainder of season after sustaining a concussion on March 24 at Manchester.

In 70 games, he managed 18 goals and 21 assists with the Hawks. Put him on a line with someone that can feed (Kozlov, Zednik) and see what happens.

Thoughts?

If Chicago does that, they really have no interest in bringing hockey back to Chicago.

man.. i really don't know.

it's possible, but can these guys find it in them to win not only for themselves.. but for us.

my greatest islanders moment was a penalty shot in a playoff series we lost anyway, when the hell do i get a truly great moment? when do i get a truly great team?

i'm getting fed up and fasst.

Randy is a free agent so he couldn't be traded unless he was resigned, which is doubtful with Bates coming back. nyi2.gif
