For the love of all that is holy, I only want to see 2 people center for KO. Tavares or Bailey. They are legit line 1 or 2 centers. Putting KO anywhere else is a waste.

Attention all New York Islanders fans

Lets start a grass root effort to prevent Kate Murray from being re-elected. Pass the word around the Town Of Hempstead. Talk to neighbors, friends, shop owners. . .etc explain how this is good for all of Long Island not just TOH and Islanders fans. With a strong effort maybe we the people can show our muscle and prevent this thick headed politician from being re-elected.

I doubt you're going to find the support to anticipate.

How about Charles Wang pays for this. You know, since he helped launch Isles games
being broadcast in Mandarin Chinese and Project Hope to spread Hockey to China.
Maybe he can get ALL the Chinese or Chinese American Islanders fans to do as he says and support the Lighthouse by leaving work early to be there for all his requests surrounding the Lighthouse.

This Islander fan has read enough over the last few months to know that through all the legaleze, one Kate Murrays stance (and those little speed bumps for Wang to make provisions to BUILD the Coliseum 1st) do more for our long term stability than Wang's greedy LH empire project demands and threats have.

Almost every Islander fan is slowly getting sick and tired of Wang's, it's my way approach.

We all know they'll continue discussions and eventually compromise (when Wang bends or scales down).
Would be funny if they're all in cahoots to simply make a huge public spectacle to garner as much federal/state stimulus money and support for this thing.

All the doubt sucks
You don't now until you try.

How many people on this board live in the TOH???

My parents are in the TOH and they are not voting for Murray, and so are their neighbors.
The way to make the politicians know that we are serious is to hit them where it hurts. The politicians that sit on that board have a holier than thou attitude. It is just the TOH board that is against it, Senator Schumer & Gov. Patterson are for it. But it Kate Murray can & will kill it.
Again I am not asking for people to hit the streets and riot. Start a conversation with your neighbor & shop owners and see what they think.
You never know unless you try.

Murray will be fine in the next election.

I'm with SteveDepot. I want the Islanders to stay, there should be no question of that. But I'm not willing to give Wang permission to build a mini "empire" or "megalopolis in the center of nassau" (terms I did not coin but fully agree with) either.

Wang needs to compromise. I did not like the whole plan since it was first unveiled and he resisted any criticism that it was too big from the onset and continues to resist scaling down so far.

This should not be a case of "It's Wang's World and we all just live in it." If he's willing to drop billions to do something, here's an idea: buy out the SMG contract that's been touted as being so cost prohibitive to do, revamp the Coliseum and some minor surrounding stuff and guess what? It'll be a heckuva lot cheaper than what he plans to drop on the LH. Had he done that he probably would've gotten full cooperation from the authorities to get more mass transit connectivity to the Coliseum area which would benefit everyone and make a big dent in the traffic congestion.

My two cents. I'm just tired of it all. I just want to see the Isles IN Nassau IN OUR ROYAL BLUE. Too much to ask I suppose.

From what he's been saying about Oct. 3. I got the impression that he wants a yes/no/what do I have to do answer. Meaning, tell me either yes as is, no altogether, or tell me how to change it to make it acceptable.

That's all he wants, I think he will be fine with a counter offer for a smaller plan, it's just a matter of getting an answer.

He's not going to change his proposal unless he's asked to by Murray, but he hasn't been asked to since he downgraded it once before.

Yeah you may be right. Hopefully the pols are going to make a very good counter-offer and not just say "we don't like this this and this, so fix 'em." With all of Murray's connections, there's no way she (and others) don't have the resources to get knowledgeable insight on some possible ideas to move this thing forward.

Gee, I really really hope Chris Dey and Co read your post, Bill. Because if you're fed up with the Lighthouse dominating all Islander news that means 98% of ALL Islander fans are too. This management better get their heads out of their asses an realize they are now hurting themselves in the PR arena and understand their fans dont want the Lighthouse and the Islanders to be one in the same.

I think some of you better clue into the fact these people are tired of losing 20m a year because Nassau-TOH are minor league when it comes to pro sports. No PR in the world changes the fact this team could sell out every game and lose big money.

These things have to be one in the same because Nassau County and TOH refuse to buyout Smg, renovate their own building or construct a new one for Wang or any Islander owner.

How many times has Tom Suozzi said Nassau County has no money to do anything with the Nassau Coliseum. It's not like Wang showed up when he bought the club with LH plans like Milstein did shortly afterward.

Some of you folks really expect Wang to pay for a new Coliseum or a 400m dollar renovation so Smg and Nassau/TOH can keep all the revenue from it while not contributing anything to it and lose all this money on hockey players?

That's not realistic.

Wang asked for what every other team got when they constructed new buildings, greedy Nassau and the TOH would not give him what Mets, Yankees, Msg, Devils got.

This is why they came up with the Lighthouse.

I got a great idea, Islander fans should pay for a new Coliseum, Smg should get all the profits from every event with the concessions, parking and advertising with Nassau getting all the tax windfall.

If the club losses money you should pay even more.

Welcome to Wang's world.

and you and ur boss, dad, uncle or whatever he is should clue in to the fact that we, for the most part, ARE JUST HOCKEY FANS !!!! Our interest lies in the TEAM...not the politics, land deal, finacial woes and regrets of the current MISmanagement. Oh yeah...they had us ALL on board for a while...none of want the team to leave...BUT...the LH is now overshadowing what brought us here in the first place. Let's not forget all the budget cuts and penny pinching we are seeing with the team...while millions are thrown at getting the land deal done.

Some of us have been around long before Wang.
We've supported this team and all we've asked in return was hard work from the players.

I've never asked players to leave work early to make a community hearing for my benefit.

Scrap that last sentence, let's get down to the nitty gritty.

Why is Wang using the Islanders and the fanbase as a vehicle for support to get this monstrous LH approved and NOT agree to provisions like REBUILDING the Coliseum FIRST and NOT selling off any portions of the project before completion???

Can YOU answer that?
