I have a big disagreement with someone at work.
Weren't no even goals scored against the Isles while Franz Nielsen was on the ice the season before last? I had thought I had heard this.
Please help........anyone

I'm pretty certain that's incorrect. If it was true. his +/- would have set an all-time record.

That is incorrect. If he hadn't been on the ice for an even strength goal, he never would have been a - in a game since PP and PK goals don't count for +/-.
Here is his game log for the 2010-11 season
http://www.nhl.com/ice/player.htm?id=84701...season=20102011I believe he was a +11 on the season, but he was a minus player in 2 of his last three games, so he had to be on the ice for even strength goals.
Franz would have won the Selke as a unanamous vote if that were the case.` He's solid defensively, but he ain't Bob Gainey ;)

Selke?
He would have won the Norris.

for the record, a goal scored against on the powerplay counts in +/-.
The shorthanded team all gets a plus, the power play team a minus.

Correct. I was referring to if your team scores on the PP or if you get scored against on the PK, it doesn't effect your +/-
