Parenteau is due for a goal.

Okposo should have been pulled aside and told those stupid head fake and try the behind the goal wrap around that he's tried and failed over 4 times recently need to be ended. He should do what gave made him a promising young forward...
drive to the net.
When you display a knack for driving to the net it forces defenders to cheat a little and then guess what??? THEN you get more room to try those outside moves.
NHL teams are so high tech in scouting. I guarantee you the Pens know Okposo's recent behind the net tendency. If he drives to the net with the puck he'll have more luck.

Ok, after all that rambling I say we win this 5-2 with JT extending a shift and getting an open net goal.

I'd like to see this team win a game in OT. With a team like ours, when we're going well we're going to play a lot of them. Blowouts will be a rare occurrence. In previous seasons we used to be deadly in OT and SO. This year... not so much. I'd love a regulation win tonight, but if we do get it OT we need to get one in the win column. Also, we've been shutout twice in three games against Pittsburgh this year and the one game we did score in we were lucky to get those two. I may just be happy with a goal tonight and start from there.

Pens have a few players out. No excuses tonight. Need a win.

Evan51838 - December 11, 2011 12:15 AM (GMT)
Good start. Nice move by Ullstrom.

As long as they have Malkin, they are still a strong team. Look at the record without Sidney.

Of great...ugly unis again.

Went straight to the net. Caught Fleury standing inside his net. Great shot.

OK..PP upcoming. Let's jump on them and get up 2-0.

Can someone please tell MSG that their KNicks adds are as horrible as their owner. Are you kidding me...trying to remix "Let's Get It On"...oh wait. I forgot Dolan is trying to ffff every one of the Knicks fans. Sorry...very good choice of song.

Yep...the pass he received as spot on. Caught him in stride just as he was accelerating past the d and with enough space to cut back.

Excellent shot. Was in a strong position to shoot.

Islander4cups - December 11, 2011 12:33 AM (GMT)
Wow...bad goal by Fleury. Nice play by Franz to cut across the front of the net, but there is no way that should have distracted him from seeing that shot.

Still, I'll take it 2-0!!!

Islander4cups - December 11, 2011 12:38 AM (GMT)
Wow- little things mean alot.

Rolston just played that 3 on 3 perfectly defensively. The puck went wide and he immediately started looking for the trailer and took away the drop pass.

Someone needs to send that video to Reasoner and some of the fools at Islesmania. He completely butchered that play in Chicago and they were all trying to claim Nino (the 4th Isles back) screwed up.

That was a textbook backcheck by Rolston and it results in a harmless shot from the halfwall instead of a pass to our high slot for a shot by the trailer.

Well done Rolston. You are still playing lousy on the PP though.

Now back from the commercial and STreit blows it.

stoutofheart - December 11, 2011 12:46 AM (GMT)
So friggin' typical of the Isles to blow a lead, it's just that it usually doesn't happen so fast in the game. I often turn off the game in the third just because I don't want to watch the meltdown.

Shooter - December 11, 2011 12:48 AM (GMT)
Poor Montoya, left absolutely naked out there with two defensive mistakes. Rough way to end the period.

Islander4cups - December 11, 2011 01:02 AM (GMT)
brilliant. threw away a 2-0 lead in 5 minutes

Islander4cups - December 11, 2011 01:07 AM (GMT)
I'm sorry, but wtf...are we really back to overusing Franz again? Starting him at center on the PP at the beginning of the period? R U Ffffing kidding me?

Forget that Bailey already has a point and is playing well but hasn't seen a second of PP time tonight.

Is Cappy really telling me that Franz is the better PP option than JT? Are you fffing kidding me?

Islander4cups - December 11, 2011 01:10 AM (GMT)
Nice shot KO. Keep it going.

Islander4cups - December 11, 2011 01:17 AM (GMT)
Wow---

There is absolutely no penalty at all but it is a 5 minute major???? LOL

Evan51838 - December 11, 2011 01:17 AM (GMT)
That may be the worst call in the history of hockey. This team needs to take a stand against the obvious bias. Enough of this garbage. There's no way the refs are this incompetent on their own, I'm sick of the league having it out for this team.

Islander4cups - December 11, 2011 01:18 AM (GMT)
Al better be our best PKer for the next 5 thanks to the referee being an idiot. Can't believe that is a game

Evan51838 - December 11, 2011 01:19 AM (GMT)
I guess with no Crosby the league wants to do whatever it can to help out the Penguins. They just gave them this game.

Islander4cups - December 11, 2011 01:26 AM (GMT)
Wow... Malkin giving a canadian hook and then holding the stick and still no call.

Another softie, wonderful.

Islander4cups - December 11, 2011 02:22 AM (GMT)
Unreal. We've played for about 20 minutes tonight.

Just a poor second and third period effort tonight.

Islander4cups - December 11, 2011 02:26 AM (GMT)
This is what pisses me off about Cappy. You've got to be ffffing kidding me. OUr PP has been sh!t tonight. Its been out of sorts and it is because he's going with Grabner-Franz-KO as the number one forward unit. Franz holds the puck too fffing long and this group is just out of sorts.

But HE KEEPS SENDING THEM OUT. They have done jack sh!t tonight. And you are down by 3 with a 4 min PP and you send them out to start it off?

If I'm on that bench I'm thinking this coach has no clue how to run a pp. And I don't want to hear Dougie runs it because there is no ffffing way he chooses to have FRanz on the first pp unit at center.

Islander4cups - December 11, 2011 02:28 AM (GMT)
and I'm tired of Butchie trying to claim the PP looks like shat because of Pitts PK. We are holding the puck too long, no puck movement and not getting it deep and competing for the puck. That has nothing to do with Pitt.

Stop trying to cover up for Cappy. The PP was crap tonight because of personnel and effort.

I'm tired of Butchie overall. Had to mute my TV when he mixed up Paul and Matt Martin's name right after obliterating some other person's name. Brought my frustration to a boiling point that I was considering throwing my remote through the screen.

Malkin shouldn't have been in the lineup tonight, he should of been suspended for his attempted sucker punch on giroux.

Tavares, the rest of the first line, streit, hamonic, and jurcina were all terrible tonight
