Capuano said this morning that Nilsson will start in goal. Comeau and Nino will be healthy scratches. Okposo and Ullstrom are in. #isles

I was livid until I saw Cappy's reasoning for sitting Nino. Nino has played 6 games in his last 9 days. Wants to rest him. Kid is young, needs to be babied a bit. I'm okay with that. He'd better be back in on Wednesday.

I agree with ya Snowy but the problem with this org is that I rarely believe what they say....they have lost me giving them the benefit of a doubt but I guess we'll see on Wednesday.

Also not sure I agree with letting the rookie start but sometimes the team plays better with an unknown in net as they feel they "owe" that to a rookie.

If you were going to give this kid his first NHL start, THIS IS THE GAME?!?!?!? Worst decision of all time. You're throwing this kid to the wolves tonight. Nilsson may be a good goaltender one day, but he is NOT READY. He's going to get torched tonight. If they wanted to play another goalie they should have brought up Poulin.

Was wondering why Poulin wasn't the 1st call-up considering he has some NHL experience. But then again why not just start DP? If ur gonna get torched anyway...why subject a rookie's frail confidence to that. DP is used to losing so no worries there :dontknow:

Are they trying to protect the golden boy (and management) from the inevitable embarrassment with a zillion reporters watching???

How about the fact that Nilsson looked better than DP?

I think Cappy's playing to win - but that's just gonna get him fired.

Only problem with firing Cappy is Snow would have to come out of his cave and make a public statement of some sort about it.

And risk losing some valuable donut crumbs by getting off his fat arse. I don't blame him for not doing it.

rifleman22 - November 21, 2011 08:41 PM (GMT)
Oh, crap, now I HAVE to watch. B)

KO, Ulstrom, Nills in the pipes and Crysby on the ice. I thought I could walk away, but no.......

"Every time I think I'm done, 'ya keep reeling me back in. I coulda walked, but no, there you are again. I can never leave...."

At least for the first period and while I agree with others that you can't trust what this organization says, it is good to see they're making changes. Comeau, who played a LITTLE better the last two games, deserves to sit. And if this doesn't wake KO up, nothing will. Ulstrom was good in the pre-season, let's see what he's got.

And for crying out loud, can we give the kid in the pipes a little support. As in no barrage of shots early and maybe score a goal or two?

Should be interesting, if nothing else. :isles:

I am watching the game tonight with a big pens fan who is Sid's nextdoor neighbor. Sid bought this guys house a few years ago.

Would make for interesting night if someone re-concusses the kid tonight....

I don't wish the kid any harm tonight, but it's a damn good thought.

And Rife, I'm with ya all the way. Thats just the way I feel.

Yep. He's on injured reserve.

3POTI - November 21, 2011 11:25 PM (GMT)
of course the goalies are getting injured...with all the flopping around they have to do to keep the damn puck out of the net..this team sucks..absolutely, no support whatssoever...

talk about noone supporting tavares, how many times has an islander goalie get runned..and these idiots just stand around and grab at the guy..like oh, please don't hurt our goalie..we are are not tough enough..we don't want to get hurt..

wouldn't want the islander players breaking any nails out there...actually if we look closely, its tough to decide whom the players actually are..it sort of looks like the ice girls in the islanders jerseys..

perhaps medical staff should check out below the waist to see if they have any? oh wait, this is the islanders...they hire medical staff out of preschool..

oh yeah, I'm proud to be an islander fan. :bag: :puke:

Now with Valiquette back in the organization now there's a possible call up if you want NHL experience.

Snowman - November 22, 2011 12:47 AM (GMT)
As usual, same guys throwing checks, fighting through checks, blocking shots. Then the same guys are coasting. Get Rolston the f#@k off this team. At least Pandolfo is willing to take a puck in the face to stay here. He may suck, but I'll take the guy with more heart at this point.

Okposo made his return this game
he took a hard shot during first and it seemed to hurt
even with the extra blubber and celluloid

Overspeed - November 22, 2011 01:16 AM (GMT)
By dissing DP and calling out Snow in ability to put a team together, Cappy is done...after losing tonight, then losing to the Flyers, and getting swept in home and home vs Devils, Cappy will be fired before the end of day next Monday.
