Congrats. Classy guy who played with heart and ALWAYS dropped the gloves to defend a teammate. He dared to question OVERSTINK and was treated like garbage by the GM who would eventually relieve the coach.
so now that he is retiring...any possiblity he wants to coach us?
always love billy g..congrats..

He's attached to a team that's competitive, so doubt it.
I wish him well in his post NHL life -- seemed like a classy guy caught in a bad situation at the end here, showed he still had something in the tank after NYI.
Semi-related: I wonder how many other players will look at "recovery" after playing here a la Jeff (~point per game in limited call up ice time) Tambellini? I can picture a group meeting where you would hear: "Hi, my name is Jeff and I played for the Islanders." "Hi Jeff"
Hoping this will pass soon -- gotta get these damn Elvis Costello lyrics out of my head.
I used to be disgusted
Now I try to be amused....
A great guy & a great player. I've been lucky enough to know him through youth hockey. Our sons are the same age and have been playing with & against each other over the last few years. He's even jumped on the ice with us coaches now & again to help out with the kids. It really gives them a thrill. He's always at the rink and is friendly and a great guy to have around. He & his family love Long Island. Whatever his plans are I hope he sticks around.
Glad he's retiring. It's time to spend time with the kiddies. Good luck Guerins!
