Blinded by faith I couldn't hear...

» Time was not needed in a time like this, for it was endless, pushing forward in leaps and bounds. Of course, if one were to life their eye to the heavens, they would not be able to define the exact hour; clouds had piled high over the night, ambushing the sun in his slumber. No, the only way that a creature would be able to tell that it was of daytime was the brightness, you could see the flora and fauna of the aging day. Thunder would rumble far above the heads of traveling creatures, threatening to relinquish the precious rain it had been gathering, warning of the powerful electricity it could release on a whim. Already, a wind had picked up, swirling about in childish abandon as it played with loose and light items. Its breath was salty with the ocean's scent, carrying it to a creature not too far into the distance.

» A snort was released from the mare, loud in the strange silence of the costal cliff area. Of course, it seemed to always be this way before a good storm hit; it was as if the world was holding its breath, waiting for the chaos to be released. Already, she could feel her blood sing beneath her chestnut fur, crying out to the energy of the weather. Choosing to expend some of the energy before she broke into a prancing jig, the mare paused to shake herself, loose hairs of russet hues lazily floating from her body. While out of motion, she lowered her body in a series of stretches, releasing a satisfied groan as the blood rushed through veins, as joints popped and muscles pulled. With a toss of her delicate head, one almost as fine as the Arabian's, she set off, limbs kicking forth in a brisk trot.

» It wasn't long before the energy of the storm urged her on with coaxing winds. A screeching cry was lifted from her lips before the pace increased to a wild run. This is so much better, a voice cried out in her head as the mare continued on in reckless abandon. Flaxen tresses billowed behind her, snapping in the wind as nostrils flared to drink the salted sea air. Who was this little chestnut mare with all the white? Why, she was no other than Indomado, the untamable liar! Gulls rose in the distance, signifying that she would soon have to stop, or continue on to fall into a churning, watery grave. Just a bit more, a bit more...

» Lower limbs folded beneath her slim belly, causing the dirt of the cliff top to rise about her like a transparent wall. She slid for a length or two before friction slowed her momentum. Coughing as the looser and lighter particles of sand trespassed into her lungs, the mare rose. Fore hooves shuffled just a hair's width from the edge. Already, the mare could feel her head swimming in vertigo as she peeked down. Green-gray water slammed itself into the side of the cliff, churning a deadly brew for those who were not careful. Her slim shoulder blades lifted in a nonchalant shrug. She should have been scared, she was just a second, a little step, form assured death. Okay, maybe she was a little bit nervous, but to admit that aloud was not in her nature.

» Having returned her spirit, the mare rose upon hind legs, dancing away from the edge, eyes rolling in mock fear. She was about to pull off some foolish moves for the mere entertainment of it when a shadow moved in the peripheral vision of her right eye- the one that was mostly blind. Pale hooves churned in the dirt, quickly whirling her slim bod about. Nothing was there, as should be expected. But still, her good eye danced about, all traces of giddish joy were transformed into wary steeliness. She should have been used to this, things were always moving about, always catching the attention of her shadow-seeing eye. It was damn irritating, too. A pale-haird tail writed across her backside, expressing this irritation as shadows kept dancing just off the side of her right eye.

» Releasing a hoarse cry of vexation, the mare kept whirling, the muscles tensing as she got more aggrivated. Just as suddenly as they had popped up, the shadows leapt away. It was then that her twitching ears had caught distant sounds. They were soft, but there. Perhaps the sounds were made from the hooves of another equine. Her ears pricked forward with interest and anticipation before she forced herself into possessing an air of nonchalance. Hopefully th other hadn't seen her whirling act; it was like watching a dog chase their taile, but never quite catching it. If they did, well, she would have a lot of explaining to do.

...all the whispers, the warnings so clear.
