Personality:

Quiet, calm, collected, her philosophy in dealing with life is to accept change passively. She hardly ever raises her voice and passes time through meditation and self-reflection. Despite her background, she sees only the good in people and she holds the sanctity of life dear to her.

Skills:

Mara has a very good grasp on her own powers, having been practicing and working with them her entire life. She knows her own body and the (( power )) around her almost just as well. However, she does not use this (( power )) as a tool, but as a friend. She does not use it for anything other than the most dire emergencies, feeling that hard work through labor and skill will make her a better person than using her power that so few others have.

For these purposes, she has learned to use this (( power )) for the sake of healing, though she is adept in telekinesis.

(( Think Mender/Consular in the thought of she heals and throws Force powers around. She's good at using Force Push, but is better at mind-altering abilities where there is a strong connection between two people. Background:

Mara grew up in a Lunar colony to a family of people that had a strong influence of the (( power )) that Universals could wield. Though she was surrounded constantly by the bitterness of the people around her and the tough life she faced in an exiled community, she never complained once about it. She saw no point in growing up to be hate-filled and spiteful to people who simply didn't understand. She saw her powers as a gift, but also understood that others could not comprehend what they could not feel.

She received a decent education, though she focused more on her own powers and her own beliefs. She worked for her family and spent her off time contemplating the power she shared with her family and community.

In her studies she had come across rumors and speculation of other colonies, old and ancient, or perhaps old texts that define the powers-that-be in greater detail, both mechanically and philosophically. Knowing that she could not learn much more while at her own colony, she elected to leave in search, or pilgrimage maybe, in order to find this information for herself and her people.


(( Work in Progress, but I saw Universalists and was like, QUICK MAKE CHARACTER. Input would be nice. I feel like being a Jedi. :d ))

Looking very nice so far! You have captured the idea of persecution that the Universalists once faced on Earth, and still kinda do in the Sol System.

Universalists kind of reminded me of Biotics lol.

I don't know how the rp is going to go or why she would leave her colony. That's why I'm looking for help.

@Johnmatt; And biotics remind me of many, many things (I could begin a list that could stretch to a height of possibly 6,000) from other works of fiction, history, and myth.

And CJ, Mara's family could have been taken, someone disappeared, she just wanted to leave, whatever! xD Anything, man.

Yeah I know that, but I still don't exactly understand the context of the rp or why she would be on this ship with this crew. I want someone to work with me on this.

And I'm okay with it!

That does not help me in developing a character.

Also no, I think Jedi more than Biotics, mostly because I now know more about the Star Wars universe than the Mass Effect one.

Okay, C.J., here's a route: you read in the Lunar library of tales regarding ancient knowledge of your powers, and wish to scour the system to find anyone who knows of these ancient stories, hoping to tap into some un-sourced, old-ass, super-awesome power.

Edit;; If you want mind-altering powers, make your character a Universalist / Humanist.

Humanists are the mental powers thing. The idea is that they have extended consciousness that can touch others' to dominate, alter perception, and other shit.
