Now I know a lot of you are like "Whoa FSC, this is a new low for you, the UN is the best effort for international peace and cooperation."

But lets be honest here, most of the time they send letters threatening to do stuff, which...are never enforced.

The UN has become a joke. I think its hilarious that in the Halo Universe, the UN has become the Human government.

Now heres my argument.

First of all...you know whos the biggest funder of the UN? America.

We pay 22 Percent of their budget, 19% is payed by Japan (The second highest). 6% by France, 6% by the UK, 8% by Germany, and 39% the rest of the world combined.

Why pay for something that never really has done anything but get in the way of things for us?

Heres an example of how unefficient the UN is, General Electric under Jack Welch had a policy of firing the bottom 10 percent every year, keeping only the best of the best. And seeing that GE's market value increased by 400 billion, I say it was a pretty good idea.

So when the UN, which has a lot of problems has only 40 employees fired in 8 years, you know something is terribly terribly wrong.

Sending UN peacekeepers barely ever work, and often the soldiers they send are poorly trained, are from some backwater nation, and the soldiers commit sex crimes like its a casual activity.

And lets be honest, what are you going to take seriously the UN saying "If you do not comply we will be very very angry with you, and then we will write you a letter...telling you how angry we are."

Or America going "If you do not comply, will blow the shit out of you."

Alright ladies and gentlemen, lets keep the personal insults to a minimum and have a friendly debate here...shall we?

They are cautious pussies, not willing to let their balls drop for the sake of not getting involved with a war or even starting one. At least that is from what I know, which when it comes to worldly politics it isn't much. We need to drop out, fix our economy COUNTRY, make our own new Super-Friends Club, and rock the shit out of any motherF***ers who would like to cause some shit wither it be for us or for another country (That we like). We may have different customs and ideals yet we need to unify some way or another if we expect something like the UN to work.

People like you are the reason that America has such a terrible reputation overseas.

America is a falling super-power, as soon as I can I am leaving this place. Maybe I will move to Europe, where the UN actually matters, maybe then I can find some bias on liking them.

The UN is very ineffective.

Even with the security council, it is still ridiculously ineffective.

They're so ineffective, that didn't they threaten to do bad things to the US if we moved into the Middle East?

Anyways, yeah. But the reason it is ineffective is because if it were too effective, then that'd be awkward. It's a part of all nations involved, and they all have their own agendas. So of course they don't work well together.

But yeah. The US should leave the UN, or at least cut down our funding of it to like 8%, so we can F***ing fix ourselves.

We should also abandon our Constitution. Aside from the Bill of Rights, that thing is ineffective. Just like the U.N.!

How is the constitution ineffective?

The idea of checks and balances is a very ineffective system of government in the modern world. It is much to slow, it is ideally suited for the 18th century, when it took 3 months for information to cross the ocean.

In today's modern age of information technology, we need a much faster preferably parliamentary or elected dictator. Something that can pass legislation much faster.

Americans love their constitution, but always seem to hate their government. The percentage of voters decreases each year because of voter "apathy", and reform is nearly impossible in our system. I believe this is because of our constitution.

Also, the UN needs to be reformed as well. They can't even follow their own anti-genicidal rules or send peace keepers in regions that need it.

We've reached the day and age in which a complete democracy would be a good idea, methinks.

Everyone has a phone. We could have full plebeian voting systems. Just call some number if you want this healthcare reform, and call the other number if you don't want it.

The days of representative government are over. Especially the electoral college. That shit is gay.

Look, if the UN went all rambo, they'd START more wars than F***ing fixing them. It'd make so many goddamn wars if it (practically) invaded every single damn country that so much as made a fuss!

Also, you are forgetting the OTHER branches of the UN. UNICEF. The Alternative Energy Council. The UN isn't just ALL about peacekeeping you know.

I almost agree, though a certain degree of representation is needed so that trained officials can give people the lowdown, probably more along the lines of five of them or so, and the voting power would need to be split between the two.
The issue with a direct democracy is that the people would never tax themselves or limit themselves, even if it needed to be done. Put the power of the people in the governments hands, and the power of the government in the peoples hands.

I declare we require all government officials to pass an IQ test.

An IQ test is not a pass/fail test...

Pretty much, yea. They don't really tell you anything useful about real life, unless your life depends on telling someone which shape is the most different from the other three.

I agree actually, The UN is shit, NATO is shit...but the biggest Nazi of them all is Europe....That's why I will vote UKIP (UK Independence Party).

I mean take Afghanistan, it pisses me off when they call it a NATO/UN operation...No it's not it's a US/UK operation, where the F*** is everyone else?
