Hellion walked carefully through the darkened terr. Night had fallen not long ago, giving him at least a full ten hours to wander. That wasn't long. That wasn't long at all. Especially not for all he needed to do. He had to feed, find a secure bedding, feed some more, and try and get as much done in the way of a home as he could. But at the pace he was going, that could take days...er...nights.

Realizing the little time he had, pistons lifted faster, gaining into a canter. Blood-colored tassels flew behind him, flapping in the draft. He smirked lightly, his maw keen on any scent of life, any source of food. It was less than an hour before his thirst was quenched, courtesy a lovely buck deer. Satisfied for the moment, stallion continued his treck through the vast expanse of field. If he was going to keep himself alive through the morning, he would have to find shelter.

Orbs widened, grazing over the horizon. Ahead of him lay the scent of the sea and the light grit of the beach. A large hill loomed above the sand, and hidden in its folds, an especially dark shadow. Quickening his pace, stag rushed for the failsafe. He didn't need its security now, of course, but he needed to stay ahead of the plan. His brother hadn't, and look what happened to him. Poof, no more brother.

As he drew closer to said groundrise, he scrutinized its side. Embedded into the face of the dirt and grass rested, as he hoped, a wonderfully deep cavern. It echoed with its endlessness, darkly shimmering in all its lightless glory. Nodding lightly to himself, brute turned to venture farther for fresh blood.

He never thought the smell of blood would stop him in his tracks.

Pyre took in the dainty creativity of the scent. It was easy, light, and utterly feminine. Positively beautiful. It was mortal, it seemed, certainly not protected from his...curse. But no creature was, was it? Feminine or not. No matter.

Auds perked, talons moving silently across the sand, dial low, czar hunted for his next prey.

Slim lay dozing in her usual spot, quite oblivious to her surroundings. She knew she was safe so why did she need to bother. Yes, mortal mare she may be but who would dare harm her for fear of her brother? Yes, this little fae was the empress of the lands, not that she was too fond of the title.
She stirred gently as she awoke and lifted her petite frame off the ground. She shook her crimson pelt vigorously then froze thinking she had heard the light scuffing sounds of hooves on rock. She shook her dished tiara slightly, merely been a breeze causing a few rocks to slip loose.
Tonight she would visit her brother while she could. It seemed like she hadn't seen him forever, though she knew that to be a lie. It had maybe been a few days, but she was close to her brother.
She halted quickly with a soft whicker when an unknown scent assaulted her nares. There was the unmistakeable scent of blood, and of a stallion. It wasn't her brother though, she knew that much.
She peered around a corner cautiously and caught sight of another form moving through-out her domicile of sorts. She stepped out of the shadows and stood calmly.
"Who are you to tread on my lands?" She asked curiously. Her tone was not one filled with pride, and anger, but one merely edged with curiousity of who would dare to come into her lands. Did he not know who he was dealing with?

Pyre froze in place, raising his mindbox smoothly. His orbs held no lick of fear, just utter curiosity. He hadn't sensed a stag for quite some distance, yet here before him was a fae. It wasn't common to see them roaming around all alone, at least, not where he was once from. But who knew? Perhaps that was the norm here. Certainly no act of deviance, by the looks of her masque.

She questioned him lightly, nothing but returned curiosity lurking in her lyrics. He stood quiet for a moment, taking in her pretty form. Her coloring equaled his to the near shade, though she was definitely of Arab blood. Her petite figure shimmered in the full moon's light, and he wondered if his did as well. His tastebuds quivered when he sized her up. She was so perfect. If he could get her into that cave not far off, she would last him probably the rest of the night, maybe another night after.

He knew he couldn't do that, though. If she was here alone, she must be of some high standing, and certainly someone would be furious and wont tto attack him if he killed such a lady. Plus...she was rather beautiful. He didn't want to let her sweet figure go to waste. She had much to do yet, he knew.

Your lands? He asked, not quite rudely. I did not know someone thrived on this turf. Though, seeing you standing before me, I suppose you have proved me wrong. His masque was set as stone, showing no emotion whatsoever. I am Pyre, milady. And what may be your cursing? He knew the consequences of letting her know he was a vampire, and so he left that little detail out. She probably knew anyway. It was pretty hard to hide, after all.

Sangre's harks flicked backwards slightly to shoo some bothersome insects away from her head as her flaxen banner twisted around her hocks. This brute had no idea who she was did he? He didn't even know what lands he was treading on. It was a good thing she was not territorial or anything. Quite the opposite, she was lonely since Armand had to care for his subjects so often.
Her name? Ah well, guess she couldn't play an innocent little mare anymore, of course not like she really had been. "My name is Sangre." She said calmly. She bit back her tongue to keep from saying the rest of her title. It was just something that'd been drilled into her head since her dam had died.
"Pyre, I do believe you're lost though. I should not think that a vampire stallion such as yourself would wander into my lands of all, especially when I would think you would have more in common with my half-sib Armand." She said quietly. She wasn't meaning to be rude or anything, but it was just strange. Unless. Her harks flicked gently remembering the promise she had given her half-sib. She had promised to take only a vampiric brute as the sire of her foals. Maybe Armand had sent him here thinking they'd be a good match? It did sound like him, always looking out for his younger sister.

Stag dug his off front talon into the dirt, testing his ground. "Always look for a way out" his father had so often told him. Always always always know where you are and where you can go. He couldn't quite get a glance of the terrain at the moment. It was quite dark where they were standing, and he didn't want to be rude to the little lady. He may be vampire by blood, but he was no impolite, blood-sucking fool. Okay, maybe he was a blood-sucking fool, but he wasn't one of those sadistic, cruel, evil creatures that dared call themselves Equine. He had a darker side, everyone did. But nowhere near as bad as that.

Sangre...he knew he had heard that name before. On his travels, the closer he came to this place, the more often he heard it. She was one of those Goddess...Queen...things, wasn't she? Holy Lord, he was shooting the breeze with the one and only Sangre. Even if he brought her home with him, his father would never believe it. Strange how fate works, isn't it?

So, you're the glorified Sangre I've heard so much about. For once, his vocals showed the slightest bit of emotion. Awe, with a touch of honor.

Clearing his throat slightly, Pyre continued. I must admit, I have no Earthly clue where I am. I've been traveling for years now, just roaming. Never really worried over where I was or where I was going. She mentioned her half brother...Armand...and he nodded. He's the Vamp, you're the Mortal, right? Never thought siblings could be different races. He tossed his dial lightly, removing a chestnut lock from his chasms.

Whether or not these lands are suitable for me, they're nice, no? But perhaps, since this is your turf, you could point me in the direction of a...safer...home. He really didn't want to dissipate into a pile of dust. It wasn't really his favorite way to die.

Sangre's cool brown orbs watched the vampiric brute calmly. Her glorified? She doubted that, she was just Armand's younger sister. She didn't really think she was anything special.
Her slim harks flicked gently when he spoke about the family of different races. "My mortal dam fell in love with a vampiric steed named Lestat though she didn't know he was and bore Armand. My sire was a mortal brute named Memnoch." She said quietly, she didn't think much of having a vampiric sib, rather that her entire lineage where pure arabs.
She watched him calmly. So he must not have been sent by Armand. Ah well, no matter. He needed a place to stay the day then? Hmmm, she probably shouldn't be doing this, but she could stay with Armand if it came to it. Or even Armand stay here and he did sometimes.
"You can stay the day in those caves if you wish and search for a better place tomorrow night, but I do think my brother may be visiting me tonight if nothing happens." She said calmly. Hey, not all rulers where those haughty and cruel ones. Some did have compassion. Maybe it was because she was a mare? No matter right?

Stag looked her over, a bit confused. Since when did mares invite stallions into their lands? If this was any brute, he would have been kicked out on sight, probably with a few new scars to boast. If this was any other mare, she would have either fled from him or ran away from him. But this fae was actually inviting him to stay with her until he found a more secure place. Well, he had to admit, he was quite befuddled.

And the fact that she trusted him so much either made her very kind or very stupid. Or maybe both. She didn't seem like the stupid type, though. She spoke and carried herself rather intelligently, actually.

Thank you, milady. He said politely, still a bit dumbfounded. I've never known someone to accept a stranger so readily. Are you sure about this? You owe me no favors, after all. He wasn't going to take advantage of an offer that was possibly thrust into the conversation unwillingly. She owed him nothing. He could always find a home by morning. And if he did end up exploding into a pile of ash, so be it. He'd lived quite a long time anyway.

Sangre shrugged slightly when he spoke. "I'm quite sure. You haven't done anything to harm me, and even if you did I do not think you would risk angering my brother." She said calmly.
She wasn't arrogant or anything but she knew she had power should she need to use it. She just hoped that she'd never have to. She just didn't think it was fair, or right.
Her banner brushed over her flanks as she stood calmly. He wasn't a bad stallion. She really didn't understand why so many mortals where scared of the vampires. Some where pretty well mannered and everything.

Crimsoned stag nodded lightly. The fem definitely had a point. He had heard of her brother's...power, to put in gentle words. After all, he was Emperor or whatever. He was most likely far stronger than the simple Vampire. Besides, now, it wasn't like he had much of a choice. Though light was not yet on the horizon, he could feel the sun slowly making its way towards the empress' lands, quietly plotting his demise. Well, if she would offer him shelter, he would live through another sunrise.

I appreciate it. He said politely, still monotone. A soft zephyr wafted over the pair, playing games with his banner. It tossed it carefully over his masque, covering his eyes quite inconveniently. Dial tossed, removing his orbs of the taunting hair.

A quiet jolt shook his abdomen. He was hungry, and starting to get a bit weak. He thrived best on two servings of blood each night, and tonight he had only feasted on a simple rabbit. He needed more before the sun rose, or he would be quite miserable the next night. He had been through a blood deprivation before. A dare between him and his brother. He had been able to go two nights without the liquid before weakening nearly to the point of imobility. He didn't want to do that again.

I'm sorry for the change of subject... He said carefully. But...do you know of any place I could...eat...? Even though he knew she was related to a vampire, having to ask where to get a fresh supply of blood was somewhat awkward, for lack of better words.

Sangre smiled slightly and then sighed slightly when the breeze blew past. Instead of letting the breeze play with her banner she kept it quite tucked. It wasn't that she didn't trust the stallion, but well, he was a stallion and it was spring.
She was jerked back to reality when he spoke again of feeding. Ah, now this might be a problem. "There might be some animals roaming here, but if you're the type to feed from equines I won't allow you to kill them from feeding." She said calmly. It was quite possible to feed from another and not kill them. Her brother had done that to her once when he was starving. They'd been much too young, and much to curious.
