"I don't suppose you could do the same thing to that, could you?"

Zatanna glanced at the energy weapon and shook her head. The fact was she had no idea how something like that worked and the size of it was well beyond what she had transmutated before. If it was just a case of turning one thing into another thing she would have made the robot into something non-threatening like pudding but it was not that simple. Already she felt weakened from transforming the missles and to do something that big was, well it was going to take everything that she had.

Focusing all of her energy and concentration she began another spell, this one hopefully dealing with the metal monster once and for all. Her hands began to glow and then she spoke, "Tsur"

Zatanna's eyes rolled up into the back of her head and she tumbled forward to the ground, drained. The spell had been cast, and if it had worked the metal of the robot would age so quickly that it would turn to rust and then break apart. If it did not work Clark Kent was going to have a new damsel in distress to save.

After the last attack, the government super-weapon would have expected an immediate victory but in this case, it had a lot more work to do if it wished to defeat the Man of Steel and the mistress of magic. The Blur had not made another attack since he was still recovering from the previous blow dealt to him but Zatanna was ready and able. She cast another spell but it seemed not to have worked, or at least, it seemed not to have worked right away. The metal monster performed another attack, pounding on the Man of Steel with its remaining left hand. Its fist plowed right into the building wall, burying the superhero under its astounding weight and the weight of the debris from the destroyed building. Its particle cannon angled itself towards Zatanna at that moment and started to charge one more time. However, a strange substance started to evolve on the surface of its enormous beam cannon – rust! The orange-red matter started to grow at a slow pace but became very visible on the gargantuan firearm, as well as its extended left arm that buried the costumed crime-fighter. Soon, parts all over the robot's body had started to grow rusty and shown wear. It was only a matter of time before its once-invulnerable whole was replaced by the substance.

While he was down, the iron giant struck The Blur with its large metal fist. Clark, however, did not experience a great deal of pain. Zatanna had cast another magic spell which took effect at a very slow pace but happened nonetheless. The metal surface on the super-weapon started to grow rusty and before too long, the orange-red substance was visible all across its body. It was just about time the two superheroes ended the fight that had been going on for far too long. The Man of Steel raised his arms and, with all of his might, lifted the heavy mass that crushed him above his head and revealed that he was not hurt. Once it was raised high enough above his head, Clark tossed it up and took to the air with both of his fists closed and extended in the direction in which he started to fly. The costumed crime-fighter plowed right through the rusted forearm that was extended forward with the intention of defeating the Man of Steel, delivering a blow with such impressive force that it should have been enough to break through the now-vulnerable metal. Once his first attack had been made, Clark looked down to observe that the mistress of magic had no longer been standing. It seemed that her magic drained her of her stamina very quickly, giving the superhero not very long on the battlefield before she was fatigued.

It was up to Clark now; he had to face the metal titan by himself until Zatanna could recover enough of her stamina to get back up and continue to aid him and Metropolis City. The woman dressed in black was on the ground below him, seemingly unable to move herself from the spot where she had collapsed, but Clark could not worry about her right away. Still suspended in the air below the giant robot, Clark noticed that its particle cannon had been charging again (as suggested by the growing white light and the hum of the gargantuan firearm). Since it was hard enough to stop the weapon from firing the first time, the Man of Steel thought that facing another second attack executed by the same armament would only be too dangerous for he city to endure. Clark flew towards the cannon at impressive speeds, landing himself on the shoulder of the tall terror and placing himself just under the cannon barrel. Both of his arms were used to lift the weapon higher so that it could not be angled towards Zatanna and Metropolis City. It required a lot more effort to move it since the motors were forcing the cannon in the direction of its target, but Clark did not give up. He lifted the enormous item with all of his might, determined to see it move in order to not only protect the mistress of magic from certain death, but his beloved city as well.
