[Strange Occurrence]

Towering several hundred feet above the ground, several metal machines had been unleashed by the government to exterminate certain individuals who possessed superhuman powers. These mechanical monsters had been created by the Department of Homeland Security and released when they could no longer be controlled by their creators. The terrible titans were made up of very strong and durable metals, making it impossible to harm them by any conventional or ordinary means. Police officers had tried to stop them but failed in their attempt; the military was called in to aid in protecting the cities but even their powerful weapons could not harm the gargantuan giants. The cities invaded had been locked down in order to protect their inhabitants but that did not stop the towering titans from wrecking havoc upon the unprotected urban settings. To further their destructive capability, the metal monsters carried impressive weapons such as flamethrowers, machine guns, and energy-projecting cannons. As they rampaged across the city, they searched for any signs of superhuman beings with the aim of annihilating them and ending their existence once and for all.

Oliver’s departure from Metropolis City was quite a surprising one. Nevertheless, it was expected to a certain extent since the release of the anti-super human beings. Due to some mechanical error, the Government had mistakenly allowed them to wreck havoc amongst the cities around the world. Although the billionaire playboy currently resided at Metropolis City, he managed to catch a personal flight back to Star City in order to defend now. Now, dressed in his olive green leather attire, fixed with a quiver that possessed many state-of-the art arrows combined with his master bow and his crossbow. Aligning himself with the horizon, he stood on top of the building looking around via his technologically advanced spectacles in order to detect at least some heat signatures. Unfortunately, his plan did not work properly since a loud explosion from behind him could be heard. The large gust caused by it rippled through the city and the green bandit could feel this large energy surge.

”Well, well, well… if it isn’t a failed heap of metal…” Oliver mocked before he pulled out his bow from his left holster mounted on his thigh. Unwinding it allowing it to transform vigorously into a bow, he pulled out an arrow with his right hand and immediately loaded it onto his weapon. Taunting the string with the arrow, he pulled his arm back in order to maximise the strength and the range. Tilting it up at a certain angle, he snickered and assumed that this job was almost too easy to be true. Having established a firm lock, he released the arrow, sending it soaring into the air. Almost instantly, there were no signs of the arrow to be found. However, with the billionaire’s incredible accuracy and archery skills, one wouldn’t be surprised to see an arrow cutting through the air from the sky and planting itself upon the back of iron beast. Unfortunately, even if the arrow managed to miss due to whatever extraneous variables, the arrow fired was an EMP arrow, hopefully cutting down on its power supply.

The metal monster had wrecked havoc successfully across the once-peaceful urban setting. Star City was now in grave danger and was desperately searching for somebody to protect it. Green Arrow arrived on the scene shortly after the mechanical menace appeared and started causing trouble for its inhabitants. Since Green Arrow did not possess any superhuman powers, the giant did not register the vigilante as a supernatural human being and went about obliterating its surroundings as it had been doing all along. However, an alarm warned the tall giant of an impending danger. An arrow had been fired at it and when the projectile crashed into its impenetrable armor, an electromagnetic wave was produced and stretched for several yards. Lights and operating vehicles had shut down after making contact with the produced wave; it was the effect of the dangerous arrow. However, it had not worked as Oliver had hoped it would. The terrible titan continued to go about wrecking havoc but since Green Arrow had attacked it, the superhero now appeared to the giant as a dangerous opponent which needed to be eliminated. At once, the giant started towards Green Arrow.

"Target acquired. Positioning for attack," it announced.

From a distance, the valiant Oliver Queen could observe the trail of his arrow properly. He could determine that this battle would end the moment the arrow landed upon the machine and henceforth disconnecting it from its power source. However, his hopes were destroyed instantly the moment he saw his arrow impale through the armour and unleash its deadly electromagnetic pulse. The electrifying pulse vibrated everywhere, shutting down all electrical currents that may have run. However, the arrow seemed to have dealt absolutely no affect on the monster which caused the billionaire a certain degree of shock. ”I should’ve known.” the bandit declared before he reloaded his bow with yet another state-of-the-art arrow. His newly developed arrow, well, having developed for a few months, called the Combustion Arrow possessed incredible explosive power. Mounting it onto his bow, he taunted the arrow and with a stretch, the string was tight and full of energy.

”I don’t think you’ll be getting a second chance.” He said as he aligned his position and stance at a certain degree. Tilting upwards at a certain degree whilst keeping the arrow taunt against the string was a difficult task for any normal archer; but for the talented archer such as the billionaire playboy, it was a simple task due to the amount of exercise he does daily. Estimating with a few assisting cues such as his spectacles, he fired the arrow. From where he stood, he saw the arrow disappear off to the distance before he saw the tail of the green arrow cut through the skies and hence land itself upon the face of the machine since it had turned around to face him. Hopefully, the arrow would reach its target and explode upon impact hence destroying the metallic beast before it was given a chance to even retaliate.

It seemed that Green Arrow possessed more tricks up his sleeve than one would ordinarily expect. After the first arrow failed in defeating the towering titan, the bow-wielding bandit tried again with a different arrow. The dangerous projectile was sent rocketing over and hit the iron giant in the chest, exploding violently and causing the titan to tremble terribly. The force of impact had even been so great that the metal monster stopped in its tracks after it had already started to approach Oliver, but when the smoke and dust cleared, it was revealed that all the arrow had done was char its outer layer and failed in penetrating its durable metal armor. Once again, the mechanical menace returned to approaching Green Arrow. A target was acquired and an attack was underway. Its left arm was raised and pointed at the distant building where Green Arrow had been standing. Once the cross hairs had been aligned with the desired target, one anti-personnel missile was fired away at the costumed crime-fighter. Once the projectile had been launched from the compartment in its left forearm, the monster returned to annihilating the surrounding city environment and everybody standing in it.

The lethal combustion arrow soared across the sky and like an eagle; it struck its target with its menacing tip, piercing the exterior layer. However, the arrow was unable to attach itself despite its sharp blade and hence exploded close in front. Nevertheless, the explosion caused the giant to tremble and hence prevent it from moving closer towards the green bandit. Although the explosion was devastating, from a distance, Oliver could still determine that his state-of-the-art technology was still unable to penetrate the exterior layers outside. ”Wow. Since when did the Government gather enough funds to make such a shield?” The bandit responded, annoyed by the fact that his own industries was being challenged by the usual pathetic government. Although the bandit stood there, wondering what to do in order to defeat the titan, he realised that he had to get closer in order to strike the enemy hard. Nevertheless, the moment the smoke created from the explosion cleared up, immediately saw the metallic giant raise its arm. Slotting his folded bow back into its holster, he turned around and began to leap forward towards another building. By doing this, he ensured his survival.

The moment his feet touched off the edges of the building, the missile fired exploded upon the building. The Green Arrow was in mid-air now, only to be pushed by the explosion force which caused the bandit to land coarsely upon the roof of the next building. As he landed, he could hear the building adjacent to him crumble and collapse to the floor with flames flickering about. ”This might take a while…” the billionaire playboy declared as he realised that although he would constantly fire, the titan would not suffer damage. Instead, he took this chance to jump from building to building hoping that he would engage the enemy when he was either a few metres away from the enemy or at the very least, on it. Right now, his nerves in his brain would switch on the off devising plans that would allow him to emerge victorious in this battle.

Kara had been traveling about the world and was enjoying the time alone when an announcement warned everybody in Star City that there would soon be an explicable danger on its way towards the big city setting. The Kryptonian girl had just so happened to be in that city when the danger was revealed and since it was not in her nature to run away from trouble, Kara had prepared to fight against whatever was putting Star City in danger. She soon found out that the danger the government had been talking about was a super-weapon that had gone out of control and rampaged across the United States of America, causing trouble for many of the cities on the large continent.

She was flying above the city when the very tall robot appeared in Star City, wrecking everything it could reach. "This doesn't look too good," she thought. However, it already seemed like somebody was on the scene and taking care of the problem, even though they had not been doing a very good job of it at first. "Need a helping hand?" Kara asked as she floated down towards the Green Arrow in order to talk to him. She was dressed in a strange white uniform; since she was not to be seen by the public very often during her travels, Kara wore a white leotard that exposed her chest, arms, and a long, flowing red cape.

Green Arrow was running from building to building; it looked like he was trying to escape the missiles being fired at him by the metal monster. "Leave this to me," she said, engaging the enormous robot. Kara started flying towards the robot at high speeds and when she came close to the menace, the Kryptonian Supergirl struck it hard with her right fist, knowing that her force was more than enough to knock it off of its feet and onto its back. She could not comprehend how a normal human being had the courage to fight something so massive and so terrible, but the emerald archer's bravery was certainly an admirable characteristic. "It's as easy as that," Kara smiled.

Green Arrow did not give up; he was jumping from one building to another in hopes of getting close to the towering terror, but that was not a wise choice. Before it could target the bow-wielding bandit, however, a real superhuman being arrived. The blonde beauty rushed the rampaging robot so fast that it could not react in time to stop her from delivering a blow so hard that it had forced the giant to take a step back in order to prevent itself from tumbling over. The punch Kara had performed had packed a lot of force but the super-weapon had been comprised of very durable metals that made it very hard to damage, thus, no visible detriment was prominent on its outer armor. "Targets acquired," it said. Its two forearms were raised and revealed machine guns from concealed compartments on both limbs. The weapons targeted Oliver and Kara respectively before opening fire. Metal bullets were pitched at high velocities towards both superheroes. Now that another superhuman being had appeared on the scene, it was going to be harder for the government super-weapon to exterminate the two of them but because it possessed no conscience, it was determined to persist until it could fight no longer.

The moment he leapt off yet another building, several shells fired from the equipped machine gun on the giant arm of the titan began to detonate themselves within the buildings. Tearing down the buildings windows by windows, the structure of the city began to descend and crushed with every blow. Nevertheless, he had to run faster and approach the enemy quicker, for he could plant his bombs around the unit before detonating them causing an explosion to cause damage to the armour. Fortunately for the Green Arrow, assistance came with a punch as a lady with blonde hair soared through the sky. Her revealing top managed to catch the bandit’s human eyes before he saw similar abilities in the young girl. The superhero hovered beside the Arrow, mocking his abilities as a hero. ”I think I need more than a helping hand.” the cynical billionaire replied as he saw the beauty of the girl. Leaping off yet another building, he was sure that he was only a few buildings away from the metallic titan.

Noticing that the Kryptonian had enough visual entertainment for the day, he couldn’t salute nor wish her well due to his focus on running ahead. Sprinting faster than required he needed to make it up for the time lost in which he had spent before. With Clark’s cousin closing in onto the giant ironman, she dealt a punch that would kill Oliver in one shot. However, the metal that it was constructed from held great durability abilities and hence, no dent or damage had been dealt to the supposed wounded area. ”I knew that it would be more than that…” the billionaire said as he reached yet another building closer to the titan. Whilst Kara had spent time with the titan, he had already devised a few plans. ”Hey Supergirl, I need more time!” the Green Arrow declared as he attempted to avoid the bullets that sprayed from the forearms of the anti-superhuman machine by jumping from building to building. Being agile had its advantages since he could run fast whilst being bulky like the machine just decreased its reaction senses.

The giant robot had recovered from Kara's attack and made an attack of its own. The machine guns on its arms fired bullets at her and Green Arrow. Although she was invulnerable and could not be hurt by the flying bullets, Green Arrow was very much vulnerable and could be hurt by the weapon spitting out ammunition. The super-powered girl flew towards the other superhero as fast as she could. The winds whipped against her face and exposed skin but it did not slow her or prevent her from reaching Green Arrow. He had done a good job in dodging a lot of the bullets but the rest were deflected by Kara and her impenetrable skin. "Go!" She yelled, not sure what Oliver had in mind.

Once the attack had stopped, Kara returned to the iron giant and tried to make her way towards the machine guns. Oliver said he needed more time and Kara could only provide it if she could succeed in distracting the rampaging robot. The super-powered girl landed on the ground and lifted a damaged car above her head. "Hey, tall, dark, and clanky! Over here!" Kara yelled, trying to get the robot to focus its attention on her while Green Arrow hurried towards the metal giant. Before it could hurt her, Kara threw the car in her hands at the robot as hard as she could whip it. Once she launched it, Kara took to the air again and raced in its direction to make another attack.

Unlike the human being Green Arrow, it did not take Kara very long to reach her enemy. The superhero girl threw another hard punch at the robot and landed a blow against its chest but she was not sure just how effective this attack would be since her last hit had done just about nothing to the metal giant. "He needs more time he says," she thought, hoping that she could give him the time he needed to do whatever he was planning to do.

Green Arrow was up to something but the iron giant could not keep up with the vigilante for very long; Kara had arrived on the scene and was causing trouble for the towering terror. The girl with superhuman strength tossed a car at the rampaging robot and although it was not enough to defeat it, the ensuing explosion was more than enough to stop the mechanical menace from attacking Oliver. The government super-weapon turned around and looked at the flying super heroine; she was its new target. Kara had thrown another hard punch and this time, it packed enough power to knock the giant onto its behind and forced it to attack while it was still on the ground. It revealed a new weapon to fight this super-powered girl; a laser cannon with a devastating effect. A compartment on its back was opened to reveal a gargantuan cannon which folded over its right shoulder and produced a blinding white light, suggesting that it was powering up to execute an attack. Once the loud humming had stopped, a high-frequency particle beam was fired away at the super-girl. It packed enough firepower to be compared to at least ten nuclear-powered weapons. If it was to hit any of the surrounding environment, everybody would have surely been doomed. It had been programmed not to use the weapon except for in the case of encountering an unbeatable adversary.

Clark’s cousin Kara sure proved to be not only attractive and beautiful, but her actions defined her as a woman that you do not want to mess with. As Oliver continued to escape by avoiding the torrent of missiles that hailed amongst his locations whilst somehow gaining ground, Oliver continued to sprint at unbelievable speeds. However, with the addition of the Supergirl, the metal giant had decided to change its target, and decided to focus and concentrate more on the Kryptonian female that hovered above the air as though gravity had no effect on her. With him free from the tin-can’s grasp, the Green Arrow managed to gain more ground and before he knew it, he was only a few blocks away from the machine. Fortunately, his job was made easy when Kara had sent a damaged vehicle flying towards it. An explosion was produced temporarily clouding the battlefield. But once the shrapnel cloud dissipated, Oliver could see the giant in its normal shape which caused the playboy to wonder.

The moment the giant had targeted someone else, Oliver could hear the force of the impact that Kara had dealt to the menace. The punch was powerful indeed and it had caused the failed unit to fall back. However, the monster was extremely lethal as a large cannon extended from its back and mounted over its shoulder. Nevertheless, a weapon with such secrecy must be bounded by its destructive abilities. Fortunately, the target it had locked on was Kara who was far away from him. Believing that his alien friend could evade the blast, Oliver stopped his sprinting and paused momentarily upon a roof just a few metres away from the monster. Reaching out for not one or two arrows, but three arrows. He gripped them with his fingers and mounted the three arrows by the arm of the bow. ”Let’s hope that this takes you out!” Oliver declared as he fired the arrows straight into the barrel of the cannon the moment it had fired. The arrows, two combustion and one EMP arrow hoped to land inside the cannon and produce an enormous lethal effect that may disable the cannon. After he had fired the arrows, he continued to run, leaping off to another building in hopes of performing the second phase of his plan.

Nothing the robot could throw at Kara could hurt her, or at least, that was what she thought at first. A large cannon on its back was pointed at the Kryptonian superhero. At first, Kara did not think that the weapon could hurt her no matter how powerful it was. However, when it was fired, she did not try to evade it but rather endure it; this was a great mistake. She could feel the heat against her skin rising and it soon became very uncomfortable for the otherworldly defender; her clothing had started to dissolve as it was eroded by the enormous particle beam. When the beam had stopped firing, Kara was sent crashing into the ground, hurt from the prolonged attack.

When the smoke started to clear, Kara was revealed to be unconscious. She had been pounded several meters into the ground and laid there almost nude, still recovering from the attack that had hit her so very hard. When her eyes opened, everything was blurry and she could not see straight. When her vision focused, Kara saw that Green Arrow was fighting the giant iron robot by himself. The second thing she noticed was that her clothing had started to dissolve, leaving behind tattered remains and suggesting that the energy cannon had been more powerful than Kara first expected since it packed enough power to tear her garments. She had not expected such impressive power.

Kara took off again and flew towards the enormous robot at great speeds. "That's it!" She screamed. Kara had never been this serious before; she raised both of her arms and flew right into the chest of the iron giant, punching it with both hands as she flew forward at great speeds. She continued to push at the robot, however, not stopping when she struck it. Her attack hoped to knock the robot several blocks away from where it was standing. Kara prayed that this attack would be great enough to keep it from standing back up once it had been knocked back down. "The bigger they are, the harder they fall!" She quoted.

The enormous cannon continued to fire away at Kara but stopped when Green Arrow had fired his weapon into the mouth of the dangerous armament. The particle beam stopped emitting but the danger was still there. It seemed that although the combustion arrows had no effect on the iron giant, the electromagnetic arrow had interfered with the super-weapon and its equipment but the effect was not permanent. Before it could counterattack, Kara got back up and delivered a full-powered body slam into the rampaging robot with excessive force, knocking the giant several blocks away from where it was standing and caused it to land on top of a nearby building; the result was disastrous. However, although denting was prominent on its armor, the super-weapon remained undefeated. While its cannon recovered from the damage, the right hand was raised and its palm opened to reveal a monster flamethrower. The fire-breathing weapon unleashed a fury of dancing flames that enclosed the entire neighbourhood in the span of a minute, creating a hellish-inferno on the surface of the Earth. Cars on the street were incinerated and plant life was burned away relentlessly; everything seemed to disappear when the fire had been poured onto the road.

Kara’s super abilities allowed it to withstand the blast with a full frontal defence. However, the beam proved to be more of a challenge to the Kryptonian as it began to eat away the only clothing the woman had. Crash landing to the ground, Oliver knew that this wasn’t the time to weep for his comrade and he was faithful that although the blow was severe, the alien-oriented Kara would be able to survive the blow. Just as his arrows struck its target, its effect only lasted for so long whilst the combustion arrow provided absolutely no harm to it at all. Nevertheless, Oliver continued to leap from building to building before landing down on the ground, preparing to strike the enemy from its feet. Placing his bow back into its holster on his left thigh, he saw the resurrected Kryptonian deliver a powerful punch upon the enemy’s exterior whilst sending it to the ground. The damage dealt was evident as creases in the metal could be seen. Oliver could only smile, but he didn’t even have to time to deal with it before he continued to run towards the leg of the enemy.

However, the metal menace had unleashed yet another hidden weapon from his right palm. A flamethrower was revealed and flames of unbearable temperatures were released in to the city which disintegrated anything within its paths. Understanding that they were fighting in an area where his Queen Industries building were far away, he could not bear the destruction of the building around Star City. He also understood that Kara had too much on her hands to do anything. Taking his chance at melee range since the arm extended over him hence not harming him, he ran towards the giant. Arriving at its feet, he reached over for an explosive device and planted it along the feet of the enemy. With his spare hand, he reached for his crossbow in his right holster and fired a tethered arrow towards the body of the enemy. Using that, he retracted the tethered rope which hauled the Green Arrow upwards. Stopping at random intervals, he planted yet another explosive device in which he hopes to detonate and hence destroy the metal nuisance of Star City.
