the person;

full name: veikko raju luova
nickname(s): veik
age: one hundred and twenty-nine
sexual orientation: bisexual

race: vampire
coven: luova

the look;

hair: dark brown, wavy
eyes: green
height: five foot eleven inches
weight: one hundred and fifty pounds
general appearance: Veikko always has a very sophisticated style and taste. He is always dressing in luxury clothes with silks and satins, smooth exquisite things touching his skin. Often he is done up a in a finely tailored suit to match his flawless body with black shoes and various colors of silk shirts that pop out so intensely on his brilliant white skin. His various tattoos that cover his body were done in eighteen eighty, a very rare and strange thing in that day in age. Of course, that’s only part of his overall mystery. Veikko’s long and slender eternal body turn more than a few heads.

He looks very important, even if a mortal doesn’t know who he is. He carries himself in a manner that suggests wealth and power. Even if his hair isn’t conventional and he may look too young for someone to be in high social circles, he demands respect. There aren’t many who can challenge his all knowing, cool, calm, collective, strong and cold face. The man’s face screams of violent threats that are in no way empty. He is the epitome of tall, dark and handsome and has some dangerously charming features. In all actuality, he is very much like the suave underworld of the mafia.

over-all personality: Veikko is an interesting complex sort of creature. I think everyone is really, but you become more of yourself as time goes on, you find who you are and become more you. Veikko has had a good one hundred and twenty four years to find himself and he’s still confused. He doesn’t show this at all though, he wears a front. Veikko has no idea about himself, no awareness of his subconscious, or at least, he won’t admit it. To everyone around him he is elegant and dangerous. As a mortal, people perceive him as charming but still have that keen awareness that his casino is probably a front for some mob money. They are careful of him, friendly but careful. Veikko takes to this; he likes the almost calm nerve of the people around him even though he is surrounded in risk. As for the vampires who know of him, how they act around this precarious monster is a little different. Most of the time Veikko gets two opposite reactions. Either he is greeted with sincerity and then talked to with flattery and praise or he’s greeted with a faltering voice and then he is either not talked to or conversed with in a nervous but aggrieved manner. In which case he handles them tranquilly, he isn’t one to fight in public or look like a pompous prick by letting flattery monopolize the conversation.

For that is what Veikko is, someone who doesn’t want to fight. He may be bitter, but he is full of love and wants to do right by his kind. He really has no place ordering around anyone but finds himself in a position to make a difference and he wants to. He had been hidden even before he was a nightcrawler. His underlying look on life stems from his lifetime before a vampire. He is angry but doesn’t let it get the best of him, at least not in public. For inside the comfort of his own home you may see his anger at the world get the better of him. Certain things provoke him and set him off to a point of madness. Luckily not too many have been hurt by this, Veikko lives alone for a reason, even if his house is sort of dusty.

All he really wants is the best for his race that he feels a personal connection with even though they may not know it. He is good in his heart, for the most part. He tries to help people and not hurt them (the vampires that is), he likes to see them achieve, be free and love. He is always having an internal struggle though because he is doing the opposite to his friend Aaro, but that’s for later. Truly, on a deep personal level, Veikko is just passionate and loving. He is sensual and thoughtful, but sometimes you have to change drastically for anything to happen for you. He keeps that under his skin, because in the light he is witty and manipulative.

the background;

parents: Jeryi and Miia Luova (deceased)
sibling(s): none
relationship with family: Veikko never got along with his family. His dad left him alone with his mother who would have much rather had a girl. She didn’t talk to Veikko and was always blaming him for his father’s disappearance, even when he was a baby. Of course it was true, had she not been pregnant, Jeryi wouldn’t have left her. So Veikko held that on his shoulders. He soon left his mother at fourteen and ran away to his bestfriend’s house. He hadn’t seen her since and never looked for dad.
over-all history: Veikko was born into a small flat in Järvenpää, Finland. His poor mother took care of him in grievance and he grew up in resentment. Luckily for him, he had a boy who lived just downstairs from him with a more loving family. Aaro Valpas was a huge part of little Veikko’s life. Those two spent more waking hours together than any other pair of kids in the neighborhood. In 1862 at five years old, the pair of them had elaborate imaginary games they would play at all hours of the night. Often they consisted of trying to find ghost in the dark only to get yelled at in angry Finnish that they were to be asleep. Veikko spent most of his childhood at Aaro’s house, even over night. Neither of their mom’s minded and it was good because Veikko probably would’ve turned out a lot worse.

But for fourteen years Veikko suffered from listening to his mom whine for him to get a job and for him to do this and do that and that he was a failure and had ruined her life. She was a horrible witch in his opinion and wouldn’t mind doing some pagan things to her. Because that was the other part of Veikko’s life, the religion that was crammed down his throat by his old fashion mother. She took him to church every Sunday to try and get some proper respect into him, to show him light and that he was a vile dirty boy who could never live up to God. Veikko hated it and never tried to live up to God. He found great joy in just defying him. It drove his mother mad. He didn’t care though; soon he just started picking fights with her at age twelve. He got some odd empty satisfaction out of yelling at her. But at age fourteen he really couldn’t stand it any longer, Aaro was the only one he could turn to anymore. Not that she had been a real comfort in the first place.

So the small fourteen year old lived just under his mother and never saw her again. He grew closer to Aaro though, staying up late talking with him, doing some pagan things like with Ouiji boards and Tarot cards. Veikko felt such pleasure in doing these things; the rebellious teenager was growing in him. At sixteen he could hear his mother upstairs praying for Jeryi to come back to her. She told him that wherever he was, it didn’t matter because their bastard son was gone forever. Veikko decided to show her exactly what her bastard son thought of that. He found himself fashioning two pieces of wood together to make a cross. He then found red wax for envelope sealing and poured it over the middle of the cross. He then etched to little curves coming out of the red blob of wax for devil horns. It wasn’t anything too horrifying, but he then lit it on fire and threw it at his mother’s door. He stood underneath the stairwell as she opened the door and screamed. He went cackling like mad and went back inside.

Veikko and Aaro sometimes didn’t understand each other, even if they were so close. Aaro couldn’t see the pleasure that Veikko found in tormenting his mother so and Veikko couldn’t understand how Aaro could be passive if something atrocious like that had happened to him. They always pulled together though, their differences apart and their love for each other bonding them as brothers. Two year later was when things turned their whole lives around. When they split up for what they thought would keep them apart from each other forever, even if forever was more than a lifetime.

One day Veikko set himself apart from everyone else. A pagan rebellion still brewing strong in him, he got himself tattooed. It wasn’t some simple thing that he could easily cover up. His whole arm, eyes on his back, things on his chest, arms and legs, he was deemed a freak. Something to put in a cage and poke at. He had done it to himself though; he had wanted it so badly. Not just to “defy God” or anything that had to do with revenge against his mother and the church. He had always hurt himself, entered scars into his arms to remember events. Things he would never take back, good or bad because that was who he was. This was just a more permanent way of marking himself. This seventeen year old no longer had a place with Aaro’s family though. Even though they didn’t shove religion down his throat, they believed in God and the way Veikko looked now was demonic. He had to leave his beloved Aaro, but it was good for him to be by himself now. Besides, Aaro was going to get married.

Veikko spent the rest of his human life alone for the most part. He didn’t have anywhere to sleep or eat. He became poor and with the dirty whores. Never did he fall in love, with a person or with where he was or what he was. Aaro had gotten married at twenty; he lived in a decent place with his wife who was pregnant. Veikko didn’t visit him however, Aaro’s wife was utterly afraid of him. The skinny twenty year old was then picked up by a sort of dingy side show. Of course, he was nothing more than a homeless tattooed man, but it was a lot of tattoos for someone that day in age.

He now had shelter and food. No love to go on, but when you haven’t for a while, it didn’t matter anymore. He let people come touch and examine his tattoos, standing naked for everyone to see because that added to the drama. The hands touching him, it was so weird. He was never touched so curiously. He thought about how Aaro was the only one to give him a hug or anything for friendly affection. He missed Aaro, he wanted to find him, regardless of his wife. When he was to see Aaro again, everything would change.

Veikko had gathered the attention of some hungry vampire. One for company, one with an idea and one with bloodlust. This vampire made himself known at one of the various stops the circus made. After Veikko did his part, on the way back to his “room” the vampire took him aside out of the darkness. He explained to him that he could be something great, something bigger than this. That he was meant for something more. Veikko was certainly morbidly curious. The man had blistering white skin with brilliant brown eyes. He wondered what he was talking about, but he would go along with it. Into the night they stole away to a black place. Somewhere Veikko didn’t recognize or know. Then he was turned.

The natural pains of dying occurred, everything going at once and sending him into agony. But everything was explained. How his sire’s race had been kept in the dark too long, that they were made to suffer for nothing more than being themselves, just like Veikko. His sire explained that Veikko had some strong power in him that could be used to bring his new race into the light, figuratively speaking. Veikko was driven with this; he found out his powers quickly and had new conviction in changing the world. Well, now at least for his race, for people he could connect with. The shunned and damned.

But while things moved along and his sire tried to rise up and show everyone, his threat of exposing the v vampire race was not taken to much liking. They weren’t ready for it in 1886. Veikko’s sire was taken away to be trapped forever in a coffin underground that had no way of breaking out. Torment for him because there was no death for those of this kind. Veikko went into hiding, he didn’t know what to do without his sire. He was young and nervous.

This didn’t last long though; he gathered his strength after his easy killings. He didn’t feel scared to face them. He would take every one of them, they would not take him. Not again, not as they had in the past. And he would be more powerful with Aaro at his side. He missed his dear friend so; he wanted to show this to Aaro. To expose him to it and to turn him into it. He couldn’t help but feel lonely after his abandonment. The emptiness in his life was more apparent now that his sire was gone. He went searching for him.

It was easy enough to find his best friend, he was with his wife. Veikko snuck in through the bedroom window by climbing up the building and opening the latch very carefully. He made no sound as he took Aaro from his bed and carted him off to the barn in which he had found a small hiding hole. In the barn he woke Aaro up and they rejoiced with each other for a little while. Then Veikko told him what he was and that he wanted to take Aaro with him. His friend had reservations though. Veikko took him though, selfishly he took his friend. He attacked him and had him pinned against the dusty hay and he bit his neck. He turned Aaro Valpas into what he is now.

They stayed together for some time. Veikko taught him how to hunt and he did it in a savage manner. He showed his friend how things were and how they had to come out of hiding and how it would be so glorious with all their unworldly power. Aaro only stayed with him out of fear of the unknown. But it didn’t last. They fought, Aaro held the grudge over his death on Veikko. It was some battle the two of them went through before the split up and went into different countries.

Veikko found himself in England soon after. They were too many rumors of Veikko Luova ruining the race; Finland exiled him a year later. For a very long time Veikko spent all through the United Kingdom. He was no one again. Just a demonic killer. He went into a weird sort of hermit type life. Not completely in solitude, but he was no longer talking. He was going through torture; Aaro should’ve loved him and stayed with him. Now he was completely hollow, all empathy he ever had for humans was gone. He was a beast and just wanted his own self-seeking interests. This lasted for about thirty three years in his vampire years putting him at ripe old fifty-six in human count.

But something changed in him again. He felt that Aaro was hiding, hiding like all the frightened vampires. This was ridiculous. They had these powers, why didn’t they use them? Veikko had a revelation standing in the rain getting drenched. He had not run into anyone like him since he had left Finland. What cowards! That’s when Veikko’s turmoil about everything really started taking shape. He left notes for those in his pedigree to let them come to him. To let him help them and have them as one rise above the filth.

Things were not easy. For more than fifty years everyone was too afraid. It seemed nothing would change, Veikko was worried he was going to be stuck like this forever. It was impossible to live this way. He was going to have to do something drastic. Maybe take a bit more initiative. He then set out to find vampires around the world and not just England anymore, obviously no one wanted to be out in London. Somewhere else there must’ve been someone who had the same dream as him.

He found various followers over the next twenty years. Thirteen vampires more than anyone had seen in a functioning coven family before. Veikko gained so much land this way, he became very powerful. A year later he restated his plans, that’s when Aaro stepped in to stop him. Of course it was only rumored of him being opposed. He ignored it and went on to build up his empire. He was out in the open for the most part, he took it upon himself to buy out Napoleon’s Casino. He was rising more now, he had the recognition of the English public, all he had to do was get his followers to unite, because heaven knew that there were more than twelve.

There has been mass tension between Aaro and Veikko as of late though. They have openly admitted to the public that this is a war that’s going to happen. Neither of them wants it but it must be done to move on or through things. It doesn’t help that Veikko is becoming jealous of the relationship between Aaro and his vampire child Lucy. Veikko had been using Lucy for a few months now to gather information on where Aaro was and what he was planning and when. Any sort of manipulation he could use over her, he would. Now he’s actually falling for her though, her company and her personality. He isn’t sure how to admit these foreign feelings and is keeping them to himself for now.
