Aaro arose from his coffin shortly after sunset with full expectancy. He crossed the empty room to the large window that was covered in dark velvet drapes. He pulled the drapes aside and aloud the full moon to shine into the dark room. The light hit his coffin with delicacy. Aaro looked down at the despised antique coffin that he was forced to seek refuge in. He had had it in his possession for some time now, carrying it with him from one place to another. He supposed it was around one hundred years old now. But was still very comfortable with the silk padding and hugging room. But oh how he hated to be confined to that small bed of death. Alas there was no safer sanctuary when the sun rose.
The room he was in was very small but that was only because it was an attic type room to the furnished master bedroom below. He would walk down the stairs from his coffin room and open a door that entered into the natural human bedroom. There was a large queen size bed that lay adjacent to the door that lead up to his loft where he slept. The bed was dressed in silk emerald green sheets. Beside it was a small table that held a clock and a lamp. Across the room from the bed a bookshelf stood that held many old looking books. There was a mahogany wardrobe that stood diagonally from that on the opposite wall. In it he had a variety of nice and tasteful clothing.
Aaro came out of the door that appeared to look like a closet. He locked it behind him and quickly dressed into a dark red long sleeved buttoned up shirt and black slacks before going out to hunt. He was sure that Lucy would not come out of her room until later in the night. Aaro had his usual habit of waking promptly after the sun set. She on the other hand slept for a few more hours after he had left the house to feast on some helpless animal. That night he chose his prey with precision. He needed his strength for what lay ahead.
He left his nice modest home and got into the front seat of his slick clean car. He drove speedily through the lively streets of London. He was alive with the night and the sweet plump moon that hung in the sky whispering secrets down to him. The wind whipped at his long wavy blond locks through the open window.
A large horse waited for him in a stall on the outskirts of town. He snuck up precariously behind the unexpected animal. He pounced without warning and sank his teeth into the great fat neck of the wide eyed beast. It is much more difficult to kill larger animals, they are more of a challenge. He had to break the horses neck before it fell. Being a vampire his strength was much more than it was before. And he drank quickly and blissfully from the rather large opening in the neck.
After the horse was completely drained of the thick red fluid Aaro arose from it with care. He wiped his mouth with a cloth, staining it with deep red. He buried the animal quite a ways away so as to avoid suspicion. He now had full strength and was ready for what lay ahead. Aaro climbed into his silver aston marten and peeled away from the quiet stables. He drove to the place he had researched for so many weeks. He had every move planed out to the second. It was time to meet his sire once more and he could feel everything falling into place.
It had been so many years that Aaro was afraid about what to expect but when he found the location of where Veikko was living he had no doubt that his childhood friend could feel him too. Aaro knew that Veikko was not at home at the moment. It was that continued bond they had. Ever since Veikko He had tuned Aaro they were attached more permanently. researched very carefully all about his life. Veikko would be out on the hunt at this time and Aaro would wait quietly until his return. He killed the engine down the street from the large and spacious house.
He walked casually over to the house looking as if he was out on a midnight stroll. Looking up at the it he searched for his target. He found the balcony easily on the side of the house. He could see the thin curtains rustling silently in the breeze. Aaro easily scaled the wall like a dark cat with extreme agility. He pulled himself over the wrought iron fencing the surrounded the balcony.
Aaro walked silently into the dark bedroom. He took in his surroundings with intrigue. The room appeared to be a normal bedroom. But it didn't take Aaro long to realize the small chest that lay at the foot of the large fancy bed. This was a clever disguise for the vampire's actual sleeping quarters. He sat down on the beautiful, extravagant ebony coffin. Aaro glanced over at the bedside table where a small framed picture stood. He laughed when he saw it was a picture of him and Veikko standing in a field smiling like childhood friends. All he had to do now was wait patiently for his companion to come back to him once again.

Tonight Veikko was feeling very suspicious of everyone. As if they were all going to turn on him any moment and lock him up into some sun filled dungeon, if that wasn’t a contradiction in terms. He stayed away from the casino tonight, he couldn’t bring himself near there in case Lucy was waiting around again. He wanted to see Lucy badly; he found this more than unnerving. He told himself she was a spy, a rotten spy. After all, he was spying on his good friend, was he not? And she was turning against her sire. Just what Aaro had done after all, wasn’t it? Left Veikko. He had never been hurt like that in his whole depressing life. Left by the one person who meant anything to you. He had loved him. His mother was nothing, that wretched old hag. Veikko smiled cruelly thinking of her rotting corpse, probably bones by now in that rotting pine box underground. Maggots in and out of her eyes, he savored the thought. But Aaro! How could he have done such a thing? Veikko had not made any monster. Humans were the abomination. He felt bitter.
Killing on those sort of thoughts made for a messy escapade. He really should’ve calmed down. Aaro had been gone for so long now, why was he wasting his thoughts on him? Though he really couldn’t help but wish that he would see him again, for one fleeting moment only to see his charming smile, even to argue with him. He pushed that blonde headed boy out of his mind. He was gone and Veikko was hungry. He had to think about the task at hand, he couldn’t just do this carelessly. A mess was something he didn’t need right now. Bring out all the vampires into investigation without a plan. ’Careful Veikko.’
He had taken his killing car, that shiny black Mercedes Benz across the streets of London. He wanted to get away from the big city tonight though. He felt it lurking around somewhere, that something that was going to come out and take him into the death he had avoided all those years ago. ’Paranoia Veikko, stop it. Stop making yourself jump over nothing, it was a mouse.’ He was talking to himself, was it any better? He went further West into the country, his territory was all of England, he could kill where he pleased in this United Kingdom. And so he did with his big head. He listened for the rushing water through the plumbing of the streets. He followed one particular sound to a small house where someone was taking a shower. That was exactly his forte.
He parked his usual twenty four blocks away and attuned his ears for that rushing water. He could hear it spraying out of the faucet, it drew him close. Water was almost as captivating as the kill because of what it meant. The clean fleshy body that would fall into his hands. Nothing again like the boy in London. Not the hopeless one that he had to bury because it reminded him so painfully of himself. A simple kill with wet clean flesh and nothing more. He walked those cold lonely street blocks and found himself going around to the side of the house where the bathroom window was. It was a little house; a girl about his age lived there as he later found out. Room for maybe two people, four if they slept together. But she was alone. So perfect it almost hurt.
It was awkward getting into the bathroom though. Easy enough to climb up the side of the house that was only some feet taller than himself, but the small window over the toilet was precariously placed. He climbed in though, his favourite pinstripe pants hugging his strong legs and a clean white button up shirt over his thin chest. He steadied himself in the tiny bathroom, not a noise was made except the breathing of the mortal and the water rushing over her body. Veikko was patient; he sat on the closed lid of the toilet and waited for her to step out.
Soon she opened the shower curtain and stepped out. Her long brown wavy hair was nothing more than a straight, thick, wet line down her back. Veikko stood up as she turned to reach for a fluffy white towel in his direction. He grinned as she screamed and he silenced her with his thin fingers. Just a muffled howling behind his hand and soon nothing. He had plunged his fangs into her jugular making a lovely bloody mess all over the place. He moaned with pleasure at the surge of blood passed his lips into his throat. It traveled to his heart, however that worked in vampire antimony and he found the blood filling up his figure. He was warm and in utter bliss. He was taking her life, her clean skin glistening under his fingertips that were wrapped around he arms tightly, bruising them. She was gone, he licked his lips and let her down softly on the ground. He found that his shirt was a horrible mess. Why had he worn white to such an occasion, didn’t he know better than that? He was loosing his mind.
The body was disposed of respectively into the ground very far from the scene of the crime. Veikko also reluctantly cleaned up the mess so he wouldn’t have an investigation on his hands. Not now, he couldn’t expose his race at the moment. They had to be ready, to be prepared. He felt this was miserable, fighting humans. They really had no choice. How could they lock them up? They didn’t have the means to lift or put together anything heavy enough to trap them, only a vampire could ruin another vampire. They were too strong, too clever to really get caught, right?
That wasn’t on his mind as he drove home though, so many hours of the nighttime gone. Tonight he didn’t want to be up though, his normal vitality was draining. The blood was keeping him moving and his energy full but mentally he was exhausting himself by thinking too much. And to avoid that he usually went to his casino to gamble his own money. He was staying away from there now though, Lucy might be around and… was that really so bad? ’Rotten spy!’ he thought to himself. Well, she was actually an amazing spy without knowing it. She didn’t fully understand she was disclosing information to Veikko that he probably shouldn’t have. Like where Aaro was. Veikko had known where Aaro had been staying since sometime around the 1980’s. Veikko couldn’t blame Lucy; Aaro probably had her feeding on farm animals just like humans. It was disgusting to think she might be doing that to herself. He was bitter again, ’Damn Aaro and his stupid ideas.’ He sulked all the way back to his house. ’Lucy…’
He came up to his house in his black Benz and parked the car in the garage. Three in the morning already? He had been driving for some time. First to find the girl and then dispose of the body and then back to the house. He had to pick closer victims next time. But what do you do when you’re alone? He could have all the women, or even men, he wanted. But that was no use to him. He could swim alone, he could dance alone and watch tv alone. There was no comfort for him. He thought of getting a dog.
Walking into his house he sensed something foreboding. ’Paranoia…’ he thought to himself while he climbed his curved stairs up to his bedroom. He walked down the long dark creepy hallway and opened his door ready to just sit on the unused bed and watch reruns of Law & Order of something of the like. But there was his paranoia standing right in front of him. Aaro Valpas sitting on his coffin, the bedroom window open to the balcony, black curtains swaying in the cool wind. He felt his heart contract, blood rushed to his fingers. He was hot, uncomfortable. He was completely overjoyed but nervous at the same time. The feeling would pass though, Aaro couldn’t hurt him. He smiled. He wanted to embrace him.
”Are you going to steal me away to a barn?” he asked brining up the casual irony of Aaro slipping through his bedroom window when that was exactly how Veikko had come back to him after he had been changed and abandon. They had barely spoken in that year together. They didn’t talk about feelings or what one meant to each other. It was purely hostile most of the time. Aaro was angry with Veikko for what he had done, disgusted with his vampire nature. Disgusted with himself. Veikko could tell that much, he never felt regret, but he felt rejected. It hurt. But they didn’t tell each other that. They only brought up frivolous things to fight about because they didn’t know how to express to each other their true thoughts and feelings. They were men back then, young and angry men. But now….

Aaro waited silently for the return of his long lost companion. He thought of everything he wanted to say to him. Veikko had to understand that what he was doing was blasphemous and could be the end to the entire vampire race. But Aaro was actually more concerned about the humans. The vampires had established a quiet peace with the humans. But now what Veikko was trying to do would destroy all of that. It would bring chaos and unbalance to everything they worked so hard to gain. 'Damn Veikko and his stupid ideas' Aaro thought menacingly.
Aaro suddenly heard from far off a car coming around the bend. The car then pulled into the large driveway. This was it. He was back. He only had to wait a little longer to hear the footsteps of Veikko coming up the stair and walking down the long hallway. Aaro was suddenly overwhelmed with emotions when the door opened and there was the vampire masquerading as his best friend standing in the doorway. All the sudden memories hit him like a jolt of lightning.
He could see them together as young and innocent mates who knew nothing of reality. Then as boys growing into manhood staying up late drinking and talking about plans they would make for the future. Then Veikko sneaking into his bedroom window after so many years of his disappearance. Then in the barn where Veikko pinned Aaro and sucked the life out of his friend. And finally the hatred he felt for Veikko after being forced to live a life as a murderer. He left Veikko so long ago and had never expected to see him again.
But now here he was standing in the doorway. And Aaro wasn't quite sure what to do with himself. He wanted to run to his sire and hold him in an embrace but he also wanted to rip his heart out for all the pain he ever put Aaro through. He couldn't help but feel the deep and unbroken love he had for his childhood friend. All these feelings washed over him without warning and without realizing it a small tear formed in the corner of his eye. He looked away hoping Veikko wouldn't notice.
”Are you going to steal me away to a barn?” he asked Aaro bringing up the irony of that night so many years ago. Aaro looked back over to him trying to control his emotions. He couldn't help but grin at the subtle joke.
"Hello Veikko. It's been a long time." Aaro said with casualty. He remembered the night he left Veikko for a new life of solitude. It was one of the hardest things he had to do in his damned life. He knew that he had hurt Veikko very much when he abandoned him there. But there was no way he could continue to live in hatred of what Veikko had done to him. After turning Aaro, Veikko made him hunt and kill. Every time he took another human life he felt a new found hatred and disgust for himself.
Veikko would never understand what he did to Aaro that night. It was something that he couldn't grasp because he never had anything in his life that was human he loved. Aaro had to leave, he had no option. But his sire wouldn't know how much pain that cause him and how much longing he had to return to him once more. But now they had returned to each other and it was more than Aaro could bare.
He looked up at Veikko from the coffin he sat upon and just examined him. He hadn't changed to much. He still had that same tantalizing smile and the eyes that knew Aaro so well. He had come into a lot of money and it showed in the clothing he wore. But the hair was the same length as always. Aaro couldn't help but be swept up by his memories of his best friend. But then he remembered the hatred he held for the vampire. How could he forget about what he was and why he was. It was painful for him to hate Veikko but that was the sad truth.

Veikko was feeling what Aaro was feeling. Love and hate at the same time. He wanted to hurt him badly but he also wanted to spend hours upon hours talking to him and laughing with him and feeling his warmth again. They knew they both felt this way, exactly why was the small mystery. It was enough to make Veikko want to crawl into his coffin and not come out for another fifty years. Oh, but the revolution. And then he remembered why Aaro was here, opposing him. This wasn’t going to be a talk about long forgotten memories and how life used to be. It was strictly business. ’Veikko, stop what you’re doing, it’s futile.’ This belonged in a movie, just as Aaro’s first words did.
”Such a cliché, you belong in a horror movie with those kinds of vampires,” Veikko suggested. He did not move an inch closer to Aaro for fear of his own unstable emotional health. Veikko kept himself from recoiling when Aaro moved to a standing position off Veikko’s immaculately carved coffin. He wanted to laugh at himself. He was being foolishly afraid of nothing more than his vampire child. He held that over Aaro, he was his. He had control over him, if only a little. They shared this bond that was beyond their childhood and brotherhood. It went into the supernatural powers of their kind. A small something that eventually brought them back to each other. But eventually could be a very long time when it came to someone who could live forever.
He felt his black heart wrench under all the emotional turmoil his head was sorting through. To be happy or angry? Overjoyed to see his, there just wasn’t a word for it… his brother in so many respects, or to be furious at the pain he had received. The abandonment. Aaro for all people had to know what that was like for Veikko! He had been abandon all his life, Aaro was the only one he could turn to. And then he was left by his own sire for unfortunate events, he needed Aaro. Did he not understand that he had become an open wound when it came to his need for Aaro. He left his bleeding heart out for the man and he received hostility and rejection from the one he needed. He became acidic again. At least he had one emotion now.
”What are you here for? You must know by now that I’m not easily persuadable. You know I’ve been fighting for this all my life-“ Veikko stopped himself before he got carried away into some big long speech. He was actually surprised he wasn’t talking in Finnish. They had done that when they had been together. Since then Veikko and Aaro had parted they both apparently had learned English, however Aaro sounded more American while Veikko had a slight British accent. Veikko made a conscious decision to speak in Finnish the next time he was addressed. He hoped it would strike a chord in Aaro’s weasely black heart, make him feel sorry. Because hadn’t the little scoundrel gotten off free with tearing Veikko’s life apart?
He was in no mood for a speech from Aaro. He would certainly banish him from his house if they started arguing politics. But he was lying to himself. How could he get rid of Aaro? He had thought about talking to him one last time. Just arguing one last time. But such a waste on politics and war and revolutions! He didn’t want to discuss that, he wanted to discuss things they had enjoyed, like drinking or driving their fast cars, because Veikko had just the ever slightest feeling Aaro wasn’t in an Astro Van. The idea was amusing though, what if Aaro had taken up more fledglings besides Lucy? Veikko closed his mind away from Lucy, that was the last thing, absolute last thing they would talk about. Because as far as Aaro knew, Lucy hadn’t ever spoken with Veikko in her entire life.
Veikko felt his damp white shirt cling to his chest and arms, they were drying from the water that had been pressed up against them during the kill. He wanted to change now, he felt odd wearing these wet bloody clothes in front of Aaro. Like he was indecent. But when had he ever covered up the kill? Aaro must’ve been appalled, he could only imagine where the water had come from, what Veikko had turned to doing. Veikko made up his mind to move past Aaro into his walk in closet, this was his house; he wasn’t going to be paralyzed in it! He avoided eye contact with Aaro and moved to his vast expanse of clothes and looked over a clean casual clothes. It was almost light though, around two hours before dawn. Shouldn’t he just change into some pajamas? The thought the delicious. He thought of the spell he would bind over Aaro, tantalizing him back to memories before hatred.
He dressed behind the walls of the closet; he took off his clothes and left them in a pile on the floor. He was sometimes so hasty with his possessions. Didn’t understand to take care of things very well. He found some cerulean blue silk pajama bottoms that he pulled up over his black boxer briefs. He came back out of the closet with out a shirt on and went over to his bed to listen to everything Aaro was saying.

Aaro couldn't help but smile at the snide remarks that Veikko was dishing out. He just couldn't stop thinking about their childhood and everything they had been through together. And that was when he realized he didn't really want to fight with Veikko, but he had no choice. This was a very important conversation they were about to have. And they would have it even if Veikko didn't wish for it. Aaro stood and walked into the center of the room to address his sire.
"I know I cannot convince you to see things my way but you must listen anyway. What you are doing is not for the greater good. This is your own selfish vendetta. You have no idea how this will effect the balance of everything. How can you think that vampires will benefit from their exposure. It will only result in death and you must know this already, how could you not?" While Aaro was pouring out his heart Veikko had turned away from him and was now in his closet changing his blood stained clothes. Yes Aaro had noticed them and they disgusted him, but he couldn't pretend that he didn't expect it. Veikko was a killer and nothing Aaro said would change that. While Aaro was ranting to the closed door he hoped that Veikko would at least feel something for what he was saying.
"I have missed you though my good friend." Aaro added in a whisper knowing that Veikko could hear him. Vampires had acute hearing. But he had to say it, because it was true and he couldn't stop himself. "No matter how much I tell myself I shouldn't, I have always wished for your presence with me."
'Stupid Aaro, this is not why you came! We are not reminiscing right now!'. Aaro thought to himself trying to keep the deep emotions inside. But in the back of his mind he kept thinking that maybe they could make this work and that maybe just maybe they could be friends again like nothing ever happened. But these were just stupid thoughts that kept bursting into his mind with searing intensity.
Veikko walked out of the closet in his pajamas. His chest was bare and his pants were silk. Aaro couldn't help but feel uncomfortable. It was as if Veikko was trying to throw all those memories of their childhood into Aaro's face. It frustrated him terribly and it also drew him into a trance when he looked upon the half naked vampire who was now sitting on his bed and listening to Aaro's every word.
"Why are you doing this Veikko? Can't you see that this is doom? Can't you see that it will bring no good to anyone? You might think that vampires are hiding but I have come to learn that this is not the truth. We have only come to live in peace with another existence that don't quite understand us. They will only see us as killers. And that is why we must continue to live in silence." Aaro continued on until he felt that everything he had to say was being said. Except for what he truly felt in his heart for his friend.

Blah, blah, blah, selfish vendetta. Blah, blah, blah, result in death. Veikko had heard all this through his closet walls smirking to himself and mocking Aaro behind the closed doors. He felt sorry for him, trying so desperately to avoid it. But hadn’t Veikko just told him that this was his life’s goal basically? What sort of antagonist would make this protagonist give up everything? That’s not how things worked out. Veikko would get his glory and recognition and everyone would be free to take their share. It really was no different than humans and animals.
Upon his bed he had propped up a black pillow to make himself comfortable and rested against the headboard through his pillow. Aaro had admitted he’d missed Veikko! ’Well good you cowardly sack of shit. Leave me in complete ruin so you can go eat your damned animals. Save the human race, what did they ever do that made you so compassionate?’ he thought miserably. The truth was that Veikko had missed Aaro desperately. He had left that wound open and bleeding. It had to heal for all those years, but it left a giant emotional scar that Aaro was slowly slicing back open. Veikko held his arms folded over his chest loosely in a silent little protest.
Again with the questions, why, can’t you. You don’t understand. Veikko couldn’t possibly know a damn thing, could he? He was a damned creature since day one. What was Aaro going to do, show him the goodness in people? Veikko wasn’t blind enough to think the entire human race was corrupt, he understood very well that he probably killed a lot of innocent people with hope and dreams. But it felt too good to him and he didn’t know them. He had never dwelled on the life he had taken. Did humans think about a cow when they ate their lovely sirloin steak? No. So was that ignorance? Why were humans on the planet if they had no more meaning than an animal? Eat or be eaten. It was God’s plan, right?
Veikko wanted to spit at the thought of God. He hated that stupid figure that everyone idolized. There was no God, just him. He was closest to God, he could do so many unnatural things, things that humans couldn’t. Even if he was just some strange evolution of the species, he was higher than him. Speaking in Darwin’s terms, humans grew from walking fish or monkeys or something, but they still ate under them, things that hadn’t evolved yet. He was just surviving. But maybe it wasn’t just that, he enjoyed the kill, he savored those sweet blissful moments. He looked to Aaro and gave a small smile. He concealed his bigger smirk though, the thought of sharing his blood with Aaro again. In this soft bed just to climb into his coffin and be together again. He had never done that before, only heard of it. Vampire love.
Veikko said starting to raise his voice at Aaro. He said it in mainly all Finnish; a few American words that just didn’t translate properly were put in. He didn’t want to fight, the thought of getting closer to Aaro filled his brain and he kept his leer to himself. His broken heart was glowing at the consideration.
He finished his little rant though and scooted down on the bed, he turned himself to his left side, his pale elbow propping his head up on the soft bed below. He looked to Aaro and gave him a smile, he wanted him to crawl over and forget everything, just come back to him. It would probably take a bit of urging though. He wouldn’t simply do it on his own. He could feel Aaro though, the things he was trying to conceal. He had that power to notice it. There was probably no hiding his own feelings, Aaro must have some idea Veikko wanted him near and to stop the fight. His wounds were going to start spilling out all over the bed if things continued in enmity.
*” You want to know why? You think that I’m dooming an entire race? Aaro, we are not going to be doomed if we are prepared. I am not rushing straight into things like a blundering idiot. I have thought this through; if I can get everyone on my side then we can keep a better piece with humans. We won’t have to go digging our own graves and hiding inside big dark scary houses to keep everyone away. No one in the alley anymore, no more of that cliché stuff. Why should I be quiet Aaro?!”

Veikko sat on his bed staring up at Aaro unconvinced. Aaro had known Veikko better than anyone. He was being foolish thinking he could actually convince Veikko of his opinion. It was a lost cause. But Aaro had to draw the line. He had to let Veikko know that he wasn't fooling around and that this wouldn't end no matter how much they both wanted it to. Both of their minds were stubbornly set on their own path and nothing would change that. They had to establish that this is war and it will only end in the destruction of one or the other.
Just then Veikko began to speak in their traditional Finnish language. The language of their childhood. This was a punch in the gut to Aaro. Why did Veikko have to continuously torture him so? Aaro had abandoned that language long ago. He had moved on had learned to speak English for a more permanent transition. Apparently Veikko had done the same but now he knew exactly how to hit Aaro in the right spot. But for some strange reason that Aaro didn't understand he decided to humor his friend.
Aaro exclaimed angrily. He was now advancing toward the bed in rage.
He looked down at the vampire laying there and was filled with mixed emotions. Half of what he was feeling was disgust for the ignorant fool who just laid there and listened to him like it was nothing. And the other half was just pure longing to be with him that it sent a small twinge of pain to his heart.
It was rage that finally took over and all he could do was stand and stare at the vampire. He wasn't the boy he knew from his youth. He was a monster now who was set to destroy everything in his path. Aaro loved and hated him with a passion. His heart was about to explode with all of these emotions. He grabbed a hold of the bed post and locked eyes with his sire. But if this was war then why did Aaro still want to embrace the creature laying on the bed? __________________________________________ "Because vampires are not meant to live alongside humans. Once they know what we are there will be nothing but chaos. You of all people should know that when you go to kill it is easier to sneak up on your prey because then they can't fight back. We may be immortal and stronger than they are but if you decide to expose us you will have to put the humans in a cage. Because otherwise they will continue to hide or fight till the death. The world will be driven mad! Is that what you want? To have to put the humans in cages? Because that is what you will have to do when they find out about us!"

Veikko looked up to Aaro who had advanced to the other side of the bed. He was infuriated and Veikko just smiled. Aaro was missing the whole point of it. Of coming into the “light” so to speak, to show everyone the supremacy the vampire race held over humanity. They had more power than the race, the entire little pitiful race. They could command respect and demand attention. They had nothing to worry about. How could immortals be worried about humans? Little mortal humans that were so easy to crush. There was no worry in Veikko. His ideas would all work out in due time, all his followers would rise up with him and they would be unbeatable. It was the best thing for his race, to be free.
Sinulle, oi,” Veikko had gotten up from his side and was now kneeling on the large queen mattress. He had moved over to Aaro and took a hold of his chin gently.
”Mitä kukaan on väljä? Sano bändi ihmisten, joidenkin suurten maiden kerätä yhdessä, he yrittävät seurata meitä alas ja tappaa meidät. Mikä on se, että vaan juhla on Jumalan?” Veikko spat at the implication of a divine being. ” The ihmiset ovat häkeissä, heidän koteihinsa. Ne ovat jääneet meille jo. Voin kuvitella, vetämällä yksi heistä, talo-Oh, te ette tiedä, miten minun syödä enää. None of the foul tappajat tai koditonta kaduilla anymore. Olen siirtynyt jotain paljon kehittyneempiä. I like my liha puhdasta, pestään, suihku. Olemme kuin ihmisten, me olemme lähimpänä asia on Jumala ,” again the disgusted sneer when the word “god” past Veikko’s lips.
Veikko leaned up to Aaro’s angry features and he kissed the tall structure of his left cheekbone. His put his left hand over Aaro’s right cheek and he traced the jaw line down to Aaro’s throat. Veikko felt a surge in himself. Cold, sweet, thick and rich blood pumping through Aaro’s black heart. Veikko’s fingers lingered there, they caressed the skin as he stood up on his knees taller and leaned in closer to Aaro. He closed his eyes and remembered the night in the barn when he had lept onto Aaro and pierced his warm hot flesh. The whole night was fresh in his memory. That night he had thought everything would be pulled together. He would be forever with the one person who had understood him and wanted him around. They would fight together and no longer call on the spirits of their childhood Ouija board, they were those spirits. The things that went bump in the night. Nothing would stop them.
”Älä taistelemaan minua,” Veikko said in a soft undertone that was soothing. He meant no harm to his race, he truly didn’t. He didn’t even mean harm to Aaro now as he stood there so close to him, the one who had destroyed him from the inside more closely than anyone had. Veikko wanted to be with him again, to have Aaro fight with him, to stand up to everyone and show that they were in charge. Veikko could compromise. He didn’t have to run terror through a whole family’s heart when he stole into the lavatory to lift a clean, wet member into his wanting mouth. He could pick out the cleanest and most to his liking out in the street. Someone out for a good time at a upper class nightclub, take them away into a little corner.
The chaos formed in his mind. He understood the disorder things would have. He would be the “king” of Europe forever with other vampires to rule other countries forever. The mortal world could turn to madness as Aaro thought, but what did it matter? They could have their oceans and mansions and pyramids, who needed an orderly neighborhood? But humans worked very well at adapting. So this would be a new era and everyone would have to get used to it. Veikko had forever to wait for peace to be restored to everyone, but he didn’t mind if it would be insanity for a few hundred years even. But Aaro was having trouble grasping the radical idea, but he would understand in time. Veikko would never lock Aaro up.
So if Aaro was not persuadable and there was a war, Veikko had the upper hand. He had more followers according to Lucy-spy. He had a stronger reason. Because the world could go crazy but they would be sane. They would be there forever until order resumed. They could sit back and watch while the humans tried to figure out a plan. And what would Aaro ultimately do to Veikko? Tell him he hated him and he was wrong and horrible? That he was pure evil and that there was a God and that Veikko would surely burn in hell if he ever died? Veikko didn’t care. Well, in all honesty it would hurt like the sun and fire combined, but he would be alive and no one could hold a grudge for eternity.
Because there was no way Veikko would be left in the sun really. No one could capture him; no one could lock him into the ground or leave him to turn to ashes in some sunlit dungeon. There was no one close enough to do such a thing, that’s why he kept his followers at such distances. Lucy was the only one remotely close but Veikko was too smart to trust her fully. And Aaro, well he wouldn’t. He didn’t have the courage or heart to do it. He could turn and leave Veikko and damn him but he could never actually stop him.
Veikko moved his head to Aaro’s neck; he put his sharp teeth gently across the left side of Aaro’s throat carefully pushing it so it exposed the length of it. He wanted to sink his teeth and make love to the vampire in front of him. He wanted to go turn on the artificial lights and open the curtains wide and let Aaro lay Veikko out below him. He wanted to show the night sky that up in his big dark house there was a light and there was love. In all reality the point of taking off clothes would be utterly useless but Veikko wanted to as close as he could to Aaro. No layers hiding them. No sheets, no night, no clothes. But would he ever agree? They could drink each other’s blood until the sun came up and then hide away into Veikko’s coffin and sleep soundly and would be no different than anyone else while they slept serenely.
In all sincerity Veikko just wanted to be accepted and loved. To have someone value him and want him around. To be asked for advice and to be taken seriously and to be desired. He wanted to just drink his days away into that black oblivion, not think, and not feel anything but the warmth of the friction between two cold dead bodies. He was delusional, absolutely stuck in a phantasm.
*”Oh Aaro, you are taking things to such extremes. Even if every single human was equipped with a lighter to set ablaze our clothes to devour us, even then, they are no match. Hunting would be easy as always. But what do you know of that my dear friend? Why would this even change your lifestyle? You wouldn’t have to sleep hidden, oh, I know you too well Aaro. I know you have yourself hidden within your coffin but even you’ve hidden that! You will feed off horses and wild animals to spare a human life. You could be so much stronger than that! You, oh,”
**” What does anyone have to loose? Say a band of humans, of some large countries gather together, they try to track us down and kill us. What is that but a banquet for a God?”
***”The humans are in cages, their homes. They will be trapped for us already. I can imagine pulling one of them from the house- oh, you don’t know how I eat anymore. None of the foul killers or homeless in the streets anymore. I’ve moved on to something much more sophisticated. I like my meat clean, washed from the shower. Taking one from the house would be such a sordid affair for the family, but they would listen to me. I’m only doing what is the best for us, for this race. Why should we have to hide? We are more than an evolution from human. We are beyond human, we are closest thing there is to God.”
****” Don’t fight me.”

Aaro shook with anger as the vampire in front of him continued to ramble on with his delusions. He was obviously blinded by the lies that filled his prideful heart. It was foolish to believe in such tales of "coming into the light". This was all wrong. How could he believe that he could carry through with these ideas without any consequence? Aaro thought about the chaos and disaster that this would become.
It was then that he realized that this might actually be what Veikko wanted. Maybe he wanted disarray and panic. It was possible that destruction was the key to his master plan of becoming powerful. But Aaro didn't want to believe that this was true. He couldn't think that Veikko actually wanted those things because that would deny everything Aaro believed was his old friend. But it was impossible to see Veikko's true intent at the moment.
Veikko had confirmed Aaro's beliefs. Ever since the moment Aaro set his eyes on his sire he knew the outcome of this whole charade. This was not going to end in agreement. This was a declaration of war. From this moment on they were in opposition and would fight for what they both thought was the truth. They were enemies. But for some reason Veikko felt some kind of thrill with blurring the line that Aaro tried so desperately to draw.
Veikko had advanced on Aaro who was still standing and glaring down at the vampire who was crawling to the edge of the bed where he stood gripping the bedpost. Veikko rose to his knees and was looking straight into Aaro's eyes. Then he proceeded to brush his fingertips across Aaro's skin causing his hair to stick up on end. Aaro felt an intoxication he hadn't felt since the night in the barn. His dead heart began to race when Veikko tenderly rose and kissed Aaro's left cheek bone. The skin underneath the vampire's lips began to burn. Aaro's knees almost buckled when Veikko's finger traced Aaro's veins to his clavicle.
Aaro gripped harder onto the metal bed post for support. He tried so desperately to turn away with every weakening muscle in his body. The full moon that was hiding behind the thick clouds now peeked out to shine perfectly through the open window. The two vampires were now enclosed by the beautiful light. This was torture for Aaro. He hated the moon for bringing the romance. But it was that thick light that weaved into Veikko's soft features that made it impossible for Aaro to look away.
He felt his skin crawl as Veikko pressed his sharp teeth into Aaro's tender skin at the nape of his neck. It was like having a needle full of an addicting drug balancing precariously on his unbroken vein. He wanted so much for the teeth to sink and end the torture and give him the high he so desired. Aaro couldn't stop his hand from coming up to rest in Veikko's hair. His vision blurred as the vampire continued to tease Aaro.
"Don't fight me" Veikko said in a low breathy mumble that vibrated Aaro's flesh. How could he? Aaro's brain screamed at him to turn away and leave at once. He couldn't pretend that he didn't know that something like this was going to happen. But he didn't know that it would be so strong and intoxicating that he had no other choice but to obey. He was a slave to his emotions.
"Toivon, että voisin, mutta olet tehnyt sen mahdottomaksi" Aaro whispered into the ear that was so close to his lips. Aaro was flooded with visions of the two vampires lying on the soft carpet. Veikko would eventually sink his teeth and then Aaro would not be able to resist the pull he would feel when his sire began to suck the thick, juicy liquid that would pour freely from Aaro's neck. Aaro would eventually do the same and the whole thing would become a heated battle between the friends. One would try to win the blood from the other. Both would be in a wet and sticky frenzy filled with passion and heat.
Suddenly Aaro's mind cleared and snapped back to the moment. He realized immediately what Veikko was doing to him. He could not control his impure thoughts. Aaro leaned in a few inches, increasing the pressure between the vampire's teeth and his flesh. How he hated Veikko for what he was doing to him. He wanted to end this infectious pull to the sharp teeth on his neck. Finally his sensibility returned and he pulled away slightly from Veikko. It wouldn't matter though Veikko was just as stubborn as he was.
He remembered the night with Veikko in the barn pinning him to the uncomfortable and itchy hay that was stacked high against the wall. He pulled Aaro's helpless human form to the floor and pressing him forcefully against the cold hard wood he began to drink. It felt so good to have his lips against Aaro's cooling skin. The blood leaving his flesh and becoming apart of his friend, his lover. It was the worst and best moment of his life. He was helpless then and he is still helpless now.
*"I wish I could but you've made that impossible."

Veikko knew he had the power over Aaro; he could render him useless for a small time. If he was as sinister as some believed, he would use his power over Aaro and then lock him up until Veikko’s assault and personal vendetta was completed. But he wouldn’t do something like that. He didn’t have it in his little black heart to do that to him even if he had caused him so much pain. That was truly evil and he would never. But a fight, they could fight. Veikko would love more than anything if Aaro could see his side though, if he would join him. He was just as obstinate as Veikko had ever been and things would never turn out that way. How could Aaro keep fighting if he lost though? In the end he would have to come to terms with the new era. He would evolve and adapt. What else would he do?
Those potent large incisors of Veikko’s found themselves closer to Aaro’s skin. So much closer to almost piercing the cool flesh beneath his pearly white killers. He held himself together; he did not sink those fangs into the smooth, marble white man beneath his grasp. He didn’t want to force Aaro into doing what was meant to be reserved for lovers. He wanted him to want it just as much. He felt the emotion from Aaro; it was seeping through his body like an aura. But his reason always overruled in the end, didn’t it? He pulled himself away a little bit; I caused Veikko to put his hand tightly around Aaro’s lower waist, his left hand reaching up to Aaro’s right cheek. He held it there and bent his head down again, his brown waves falling over his intense green eyes. They would look like such monsters if Aaro gave in. Both eyes rolling their eyes to the back of their heads to expose white otherworldliness upon each other. The pulse would be so sweet…
”Älä pelkää liukastua ja laskua,” Veikko whispered over the skin beneath love riding on his breath. " Luopuminen jokainen sana, jokainen ajatteli jokainen ääni, joka koskettaa, jokainen hymy, joka frown. Luopuminen kaikki kipu olemme kokeneet tähän asti... luovuttamista itsesi minulle,” he was being carried away with the glorious idea of both of them the way it was supposed to be. Not with Aaro’s long dead wife, not with anyone interfering or telling Veikko that he was messing around with the enemy. He wanted Aaro to collapse under the emotional pressure that Veikko was laying down all over him. To forget everything, that’s what it was to be lost in the moment. It’s what Veikko wanted. What was Aaro really going to do tonight so close to dawn anyway? Only an hour away by now, they could make love on the bed until they had to hide away from the morning light.
There was a tension in the air, mixed feelings. Veikko wasn’t sure what to make of it. Aaro was tearing himself up inside with an internal struggle. Veikko knew he was the cause of all this and it hurt him a little that he could cause this pain in Aaro, but if he would just give in! There didn’t have to be a fight, a battle. He was talking nonsense that there was no choice but this. ‘Impossible’ he had said. Well Veikko could spit at that. Nothing was impossible when you had the powers they had and the time and resources. He was just afraid to give in, there was still the threat of the illusory God who would strike his wrath down upon Aaro. Was Veikko just escaping the smite of God? How could he do what he did without a punishment? Because in his mind there was no God! There was nothing he had to be afraid of. He was free. Almost, he just had this last step to take.
Veikko licked the skin under his even teeth and ran his fingers back through Aaro’s blonde wavy mane. His hand was over Aaro’s clothes surrounding his waist; those erotic thoughts filled his mind again. He would not take the first drink; he wanted to feel it from Aaro. It would be so much better to feel his blood go first, to know that Aaro still loved him and wanted to be with him like this, even if he had left him that night. Those memories would best be suppressed within the dark reaches of Veikko’s warped broken cranium. Sometimes feelings so deeply as a vampire had huge disadvantages; the mention of something long ago can bring up memories that are never forgotten. It drove some vampires mad, to the point of locking themselves up underground or in the sun to live in limbo. Veikko would never survive such a thing; he would truly change if he was committed to such punishment.
*”Don’t be afraid to slip and fall.”
**” Surrender every word, every thought every sound, every touch, every smile, every frown. Surrender all the pain we've endured until now... surrender yourself to me.”

The poetry filled Aaro's senses. He was elated by the soft words that kept trickling out of Veikko's lips. Oh how he killed him so softly with his touch and sound. It was like every word that the vampire uttered was a sharp knife that pierced Aaro's black heart. He was a slave to Veikko's soft fingertips. Aaro's eyes became glazed over and he looked straight into Veikkos soul, searching for what was not there. Compassion and mercy. He reached up and brushed Veikko's soft cheek. And then Aaro's whole body shook in ecstasy as Veikko's tongue peaked out of through the sharp fangs and slowing ran along Aaro's neck, making the skin underneath wet and sticky.
Aaro bit his lip hard, willing the blood to flow onto his tongue, tasting the warm, sweet elixir. He then let the blood drip from his broken lip and land lightly into the corner of Veikko's mouth that was still finding a home in the nape of Aaro's neck. What are you doing Aaro? Why are you letting your emotions win over your reason? Can't you see what he is doing to you?" His every thought screamed in his dark mind that was now full of memory and passion. It was too late for Aaro, he couldn't stop his lips from coming down to touch the skin behind Veikko's ear lobe. He let one of his sharp fangs press lightly against the small crevice that was provided behind the ear. The blood from Aaro's lip smeared lightly along the flesh there. He slid his teeth along the skin, tickling his senses.
Aaro pulled away slowly and a tear fell freely down his pale cheek. It was tinted with blood as it fell and landed on Aaro's exposed chest where the shirt had been unbuttoned slightly to show the carved and full shape of his muscle. He wanted so badly to return to the close intoxicating scent of Veikko. But he couldn't allow himself to be with the vampire. They were never meant to touch like that again. He had to separate himself from the temptation.
He was not only protecting himself but also Veikko who now looked at him with fiery hurtful eyes. Aaro had left him so many years ago because he knew that it was right. But that had hurt Veikko very deeply non the less. He had broken his heart, and that kind of hurt could not be healed. It would be cruel to do it again. He could not give the vampire false hope. If he were to lay with Veikko now and love him tonight it would hurt even more when he had to leave him again. Aaro was not a cruel monster. He could not allow himself to put Veikko through that kind of pain again. It would be wrong and it would eat Aaro up inside. So it had to end now before things went too far and the attraction become too much.
Aaro backed away slowly from Veikko, letting go of the bed post. He walked to the open window that led out to the small balcony. He looked up at the clear skies and the beautiful full moon that grinned down at him. He wished so much to see the sun again though. To see that beautiful fire in the sky that lit up the valley it fell upon. He would never again see the light rise up over the distant hill and peek out to play through the blue sky. And this was all Veikko's fault. How could he do this to a friend? How could he so freely and unjustly kill hope? Every time the vampire took a life he sucked away every feeling of hope in a being. Everything that could have been never will be because of the teeth that sank and destroyed. It made Aaro sick just to think about feeling the soul slip away and the heartbeat slow and cease to be. Death was a disgrace.
But as Aaro thought all of this he looked back out to the stars that were now beginning to fade. Dawn was near and time was running out for the vampire who could never see the sun and feel the warmth of day on his skin. He became a little frightened by the aspect of being caught in the light, he was vulnerable. If he didn't leave soon, he would run out of time to reach his coffin, to reach his sanctuary. He had to part soon. But that alone frightened him. Because once he leaped out of the window and into the fading night he would never again be with Veikko. Not like this at least. After tonight things will be different and they will never be able to feel each other like this. It was their last night together as companions and lovers, and Aaro didn't want it to end.
He turned back to look on Veikko who was rising now from the bed. He hated pulling away from him and breaking the spell between the the two bodies. It felt so good to be with him. Against his cool, bare skin. Alas, things aren't meant to last. And Aaro could feel himself becoming tired. The kind of tired that would fall on him when the night turned into day and he was safe in his coffin. It was about that time, but here he was, far away from the safety of his home and that tight bed.
*I cannot deny what I feel for you. But you know that we cannot be together the way you want us to be. It is too late for us, it is not in our fate to love the way we do. Can't you see that life for us will never be the same as when we were young boys and lovers? We have been changed Veikko. We have died men and became monsters. This moment should not exist for us, but still you continue to force fate a different way. But it is time to end this lustful torment of passion between us, because I cannot give you what you want. Remember the blood that just touched your lips, for it will be the last drop you will taste from me."

Veikko felt the cold engaging potion trickle to the corner of his begging lips. He had to have just done that, he was being cruel. Letting him taste that one little drop of blood, Veikko’s tongue licked at the corner of his lips brining the crimson liquid smear into his imploring mouth. While that small sensation inflamed his taste buds, he felt lips behind his ear, some sharp fangs gently pressed against that skin and bone. Veikko shivered from the exhilarating touch. He could feel those incisors drag along his skin and he wanted to hold Aaro even more. In fact, he gripped tighter around the man’s waist, he wanted to slip his fingers into the shirt and not be interrupted by such an obstacle like clothing. His other hand had moved with Aaro’s head that was now nuzzling its way near Veikko’s ear. He rubbed his fingers through the hair along the scalp, his carved lips in the open air, no where to touch.
Aaro spoke and denied them. Veikko felt a small sharp pain in his chest but he ignored it, he believed he could convince Aaro differently for one night. The blonde haired man backed away though, leaving Veikko on the bed, the hand that had been holding onto Aaro’s waist was now clinging pathetically to the bedpost in disbelief. The hand that had moments before been tangled into a lion’s mane was now placed forcefully into the mattress to which Veikko was kneeling on. He looked at Aaro in with harsh eyes and saw a single tear fall from his eye and caressed his cheek and trail along his neck to his chest. Veikko felt like he was the devil in this situation, like he was sin that was beheld in front of Aaro. Temptation of the worst kind, like he was luring this innocent angel virgin to him. What idiocy.
”Fate ei ole koskaan ollut paikassa, jossa minua. Voin valita, mitä haluan tehdä ja miten teen sen, ja kun minä sen. Olen vapaa. That's all Olen yrittänyt tehdä kuka tahansa. " Veikko shouted angrily as Aaro looked out the balcony window. So close to the way he must’ve come in. Veikko couldn’t let him escape this time. He wouldn’t let him ruin this night with ridiculous notions, like he had some great mission.
Veikko could feel a longing in Aaro, of more than just him. It seemed to be a long yearning for something he hadn’t done or seen or felt since he became a vampire. Veikko took an educated guess that he was lamenting the sun. He couldn’t believe that at a time like the present he was brooding over a great ball of fire in the sky that would surely be the cause of insanity to him. He thought this was appalling to think about right now, why should the sun matter when you can live forever? He put his head lazily against the bedpost and called after Aaro angrily.
”Älä käännä takaisin minulle, minulla ei voida jättää huomiotta,” he repeated again. He leaped up off the bed to Aaro who had now turned around. Veikko quickly advanced and found himself faced again with the smell of the dead body before him. That scent that drove him wild, it matched the same scent that came off of Lucy but in a more defined manner. He took a deep unneeded breath to prepare himself. He was going to kidnap Aaro for this night even if Aaro started shouting and cursing him and telling him of hate and loathing and started kicking and biting and fighting. He would force him into the ebony trunk at the end of the four poster and they would be close even if it was miserable.
*”Fate has never had a place with me. I can choose what I want to do and how I do it and when I do it. I am free. That’s all I’m trying to do for anyone. For you, you can do what you want. Stop reading from some great cosmos or higher being, do what you want to do! There are no rules for you, no stupid regulations that you have to adhere too. There is endless blood for me, for the both of us, I am not going to let you just find some cop-out from God to ignore me. Don’t turn your back on me!”

Veikko's deep voice pierced the night with every shouted word. He was furious now and as Aaro turned back to him he could see the fire in his eyes. The vampire was now advancing on Aaro, and he so desperately did not wish to fight his friend. But he didn't really have much of a choice with every footfall that brought his lovely enemy closer and closer to him. Veikko had become mad with rage when Aaro had denied him once more of the love that he so longed for. Of course Aaro felt terrible for what he was doing to the poor monster, but there was no other choice for him to take. Veikko's intentions were unknown to Aaro and he wasn't quite sure what to do about the present situation. The last thing he wanted was a hand to hand combat with the vampire who continued to threaten him with every step he took.
Veikko was now shouting at Aaro to face him again. Aaro had hurt his pride when he turned from him. Just like that night so long ago when Aaro had left him and internally destroyed the monster who loved him unconditionally. Aaro felt that he owed him something. Some sort of respect and recognition for being the one who had hurt him so deeply. But wait a second. "Wasn't he the one who had hurt you so deeply also? Wasn't he the one who had made you what you are without even a second thought to what it would do to the man he supposedly loved? He made you a monster, and now he demands respect from you!" It was now Aaro's turn to be angered. And now Veikko had the nerve to blame everything on God?! This was ludicrous, he would not take it! He had every damn right to turn away from the sight of him!
"Jumala?! Miten voit sanoa, että Jumala on syy, miksi olen halutessaan kieltää itseäni?! I valita elää elämääni tällä tavalla, koska joka kerta, I kill Muistan, että yöllä!
Aaro was now enraged and the hate that had been simmering inside of him now burst to the surface and manifested itself with an unthinkable furry! Aaro is a very powerful thing now that he had the dark gift. He could crush the skull of any beast or mortal in less than a second. And it took a large amount of control to keep all of his violence inside of him. He would not let his anger become him. He was now looking straight into the eyes of his enemy with a new vengeful passion. Veikko was still that same man though. He was still the boy who Aaro had loved but he had been changed. He will always be the same man from his past, but with fangs!
Aaro could feel the dark of the night slowly coming to an end behind him through the window that he had to leap through now or he would never make it to sanctuary. In fact he was not even sure he could make it home in time before the sun wakens to destroy him. Aaro realized the danger that loomed in wait and this would be the end for him unless he left this very instant. There was no question that it would be a difficult task considering the demon that was determined to keep him. Aaro was still unaware though as he turned to leap through the open window that the vampire had different intentions for him. He was on the balcony now as the deep black of the sky turned to a dark blue.
It seemed as though the night was repeating it's death. Everything around him came to a dead silent pause. The moon was sinking away. It had whispered it's last word of comfort to the man who relied on it so eagerly. Aaro felt lonely as he stood there on the balcony with the entire sky behind him. If anyone were to witness this moment of him there on the terrace they would have found a strange poetry to his eyes that now stared into the face of the devil. It was almost like a painting. A painting of a vampire in his last moments of true happiness and sorrow at the same time. It was the story of his life. Of his eternity!
But he wasn't as free as he thought he was. He had one foot on the railing that surrounded the small platform and was ready to take his giant leap to the ground below before he felt the cold fingers catch on to him bringing him back with a inhuman force.
*"God?! How can you say that God is the reason why I choose to deny myself?! I choose to live my life this way because every time I kill I remember that night! The night when I had felt the pains of death! And for what?! To live an eternity of darkness and murder?! If there was a God then how could he let monsters like us exist?! No! There is no God! But there is good! Even though I have turned into this beast doesn't mean I have to sink into the evil of the night! I do not let what I am control me! I control it! I am the master! Not this temptation that sleeps in me! I have the power to choose what I want to be! I am my own god! And I still have my sanity Veikko! Which is more than I can say for you!"

Harsh words were thrown to Veikko. Aaro thought he had lost his mind had he? It hurt him more than he would’ve liked to admit. He brushed it aside though, the words that Aaro spoke of, he finally believed there was no god? Did he really think that? It was likely but it was also the heat of the moment and too hard to understand what anybody really meant. Veikko had been trying to get this idea into Aaro all along! The idea of freedom, his own free will, his own choices. Aaro had now admitted that he did do things on his own accord, but then why was he still feeding on animals? It was so distasteful and weak. Good, blabber and nonsense about good in the world. Aaro was trying to be the good in the world? He had a lot to work for; his entire perpetuity would never be enough to change what he was. Killing was killing and it made no difference which food chain Aaro was corrupting. Why not enjoy the pleasures of soft pink fleshy skin?
There was no time for an exchange in dialogue. Aaro was going to leap out of that window and never return. If they ever met face to face again it was destine to be war, Veikko could not fight Aaro’s conviction in this horrid and futile confrontation. They would be doomed to destroy each other. So Aaro was so blatantly putting it. Veikko refused to belief such nonsense. These were the rules and regulations he had been talking about, how could Aaro believe in things like this when he said that he could control himself. That his monster was not overpowering him. If he had the choice then why was he fighting? Why did there have to be this battle?
The foot on the balcony that Aaro had so firmly placed would go no further. Veikko rushed up behind the blonde pale man and took him by his shoulders violently. There was no time for fighting now. The moments were passing and Aaro would turn to a pile of ash while his conscious floated above him wanting his body back. It was a dangerous thing to experience. More often than not a vampire would actually go insane, it caused a lot of problems in the mortal world. Sometimes media got a little involved when there was talk of a haunting. Veikko wouldn’t let that happen to Aaro. That’s what he told himself anyway. He was determined to put Aaro in the coffin. The ebony trunk at the end of the bed where they would rest together, a tangle of lifeless limbs for at least one last night. Veikko felt he still had a chance.
"Et ole lähtöä, kuten," Veikko told Aaro as he turned him around, his hands gripping his shoulders with force. He pulled the vampire closer to him with a thrust; they were now chest to chest, Aaro only stood an inch taller than the brunette that was clutching him. Veikko’s glass like fingernails dug into the strong shoulders and he questioned himself. He wondered if he should fight this power in him. If he should be like Aaro and let the monster be buried. Part of him liked it all too much though; he wanted to sink his fangs into Aaro. Rape him of his last bit of control. He wanted to put him in his place, he was his master ultimately and he should be treated as such. Was he really thinking that!? Veikko recoiled at his own ideas, they shocked him. He didn’t feel that much contempt for Aaro “disobeying” him. He just wanted to be loved, he was always rejected and Aaro had done just as everyone else had done. He was denying the dismissal in his head, Aaro would have him now.
Veikko pressed his cold hard lips into place over Aaro’s equally icy smooth ones. He tilted his head and brought his right hand up into the lion’s mane again. His fingers tugged through the golden blonde locks and he pulled Aaro to him, closer to the coffin that was juts a few feet behind him. His left hand took a hold of the other side of Aaro’s head to keep in control. His thumb brushed over his immaculately carved cheekbone while Veikko separated his jaw. His wet tongue slipped into the other’s mouth as he kissed him roughly. His face was at an angle, his mind was gone. The thing controlling him was purely emotions. They coursed through his veins and he let them overcome him. He kept turning his head, his tongue doing rounds inside the dark mouth it was trying to take possession of.
He continued to pull Aaro until he reached the trunk. This would be tricky. He had to open the coffin with more than a flick of a finger nail. He would have to let go of Aaro and force him inside if he hadn’t already succumb. He didn’t care though, he was past the point of looking into Aaro’s eyes and seeing hate or sorrow or even love. He was lost in his own memories and feelings. He was being powered by a force, he wanted what he wanted and he had the means to get it. Even if it was against the few laws that vampires held against each other. No one would ever know about this though, Aaro wouldn’t want this brought up, just like he suppressed everything else.
This love was to be made in hate. Their blue and green eyes would be covered over by red. Lust and power in Veikko’s heart. He was only after the action now, not the meaning. Because certainly this was no way to get love. Aaro would not return the true emotions they had felt for each other, he would lie to himself and deny this. Veikko would make it happen with force, then he knew it would be over after this. Nothing would redeem him. He was so angry and consumed that he couldn’t see past this deliberate act of violence. He was punishing Aaro for not loving him. He would pay.
*'You’re not leaving like that."

Aaro was being pulled back through the balcony window and into the darkened bedroom. Veikko held him tightly in his arms. His embrace was forceful yet full of longing. Aaro struggled under the strength of the stubborn vampire who held him. They both had the strength of lions, it would have been a blood bath if Veikko hadn't done the one thing Aaro wasn't expecting. He pulled him around to face him. Aaro was defenseless under his gaze. He looked up at him with eyes that were ablaze with anger and betrayal. But Veikko had him. He pulled him tightly to his chest and dragged him closer to the coffin at the base of the bed. Veikko brought his arm up to caress Aaro's cheek in his cold, pale palm. He was so tender yet he still had Aaro held to him with one powerful arm. But the truth was that if Aaro really wanted to refuse him he would have broken that one arm that clenched at his waist. He was under a spell.
Veikko leaned down to him in a swift motion and pressed his soft lips to his. His lips were stern and crushed through Aaro's stagnant ones. Veikko then parted the closed lips he pressed up against and forced his tongue roughly into Aaro's moist mouth. They met each other and became one. Both bodies were pressing against each other with a bone crushing force. It was as if they were trying to morph into one entire body. Aaro still had a will in the back of his mind to break free. You could see his eyes wide with resentment for the vampire who was still inching closer and closer to the closed coffin. Their faces smashed together like they were in a romantic battle.
Aaro's entire being screamed within. He was fighting an inner war. He kept pushing away from Veikko but never really meaning to break free. His lips stayed locked to his and his arms still pushed against the hard chest for release. Everything was cloudy to him. He couldn't see straight and he staggered with dizziness. The scene was like a blur. Both supernatural beings moved with unseen speed. What felt like an eternity to Aaro, was actually just a couple of short seconds. The kiss seemed to last for a century. Everything was playing out in slow motion. It tortured him. But he didn't want it to end.
There was a battle going on inside the parted lips. Their moist tongues kept pushing on the other. It was almost as if this moment was a long time coming. They had waited for it an eternity. It was confused rage and passion. Nothing was clear anymore. But still Aaro was continuing to get closer to that horrifying coffin. Veikko was fighting with the claps on the trunk. He struggled trying to lift the lid. But Aaro wasn't aware of any of this. All he could comprehend at the moment was this tight embrace. He still wished for escape though. And you could see it in the way he struggled unceasingly to break free.
Just then Veikko flung the lid of the coffin open to expose a softly cushioned inside. He spun around so that Aaro's back was facing the coffin. Aaro could feel himself being lowered into the bed. He had a flash of what was to come. His mind filled with visions of them locked in the dark mahogany casket. They would make sweet love to each other in the vampire way. The blood would flow into one another creating a sweet and intoxicating bond. They would feel ecstasy tonight. This frightened Aaro and now he really tried to escape. His eyes snapped open to see Veikko still pressed against him. He was ready to push the already unbalanced vampire onto the thick belly of the coffin. After which he would force himself on top of him once inside.
He pushed even more powerfully but Veikko would not budge. He had his eyes set on one thing and one thing only. To get Aaro into that coffin to be his for the night. Aaro was losing the battle to the stronger opponent. He could not even speak on his behalf. His tongue was still occupied with the fleshy inside of Veikko's mouth.
