What is the first anime or anime-based movie you've ever seen? To me it was Pokemon 1 if I remember correctly, but since that isn't really anime I'd say YGO: The Movie instead. How is that at your side?

Firstly, I'll insist that Pokémon is an anime just like any other; it's things like Code Lyoko that aren't 'true' anime.

Now, first thing I remember seeing was the first episode of Pokémon, like you. First thing I saw when in the knowledge of what anime is was Elfen Lied.

And pokémon REALLY isn't anime, I can understand why people think that but it's a cartoon as it looks...or I'm wrong :blink:

Ooh... I see, hmm... I got a bit misled by the way you wrote the question. First Pokémon movie then, 'Mewtwo Strikes Back' I believe it's called. And that's actually the only anime movie I've seen.

And this: Pokémon is as much an anime as your Kaze no Stigma, and it's Japanese and all that if you don't know. Cartoons would be things like Tom & Jerry. A lot of new cartoons are influenced by anime styles; but Pokémon is a real anime, just its huge Western audience and popularity seems to have led people to think it's not.

Meh maybe it's just that I aren't used to old anime. I've started watching Infinite Ryvius again and it looks very similar in drawing style to pokémon..so I guess pokémon is an anime as well now.

Sailor Moon: The Black Dream Hole. I saw it around 6 years back, maybe longer when I flicked on a german channel. Watching the german dub was quite fun.
