Looks nice plays nice on my sysmte... most of the time and importantly much better than BI and the mess that was Alexander BUT i have some major gripes with it

the wall fighting is buggy as hell they leave half the unit behind i was fighting spain and they had a unit of feudal foot knights i had a unit of spears either side of them so 150 men against 40 better ones so u need to gang up on them no.. they left half their unit behind leaving the knights to cut throuh my spearmen. This has happened more than once.

the inqusitors are retards spain is full of heretics and witches but they spend all the time prosecuting me.....

The pope is a moron spain laid siege to one of my cities i lif the siege by attacking the besiegers and i get excommunicated! Because of this the best of the best coz i get excommunicated my crusade disbands leaving my king in the middle of bloody hungary with no bloody army!

The unit stats once again dont seem to mean anything i had 4 units of upgraded yeoman archers in a fire fight with 3 units of danish peasant archers and i lost 3/4s of my men.


Anyhow whats everyone else think?

I thing the ai has big problems i played the demo nice 3d enviroments nice 3d models but......the ai destroy everything and the formations are almost worth nothing.

Seems to me that the quality of the models is no higher than the majority of ours. We really could use the ability to vary the shield devices within a unit and having some different helmets and armor patterns would be interesting too but its certainly outweighed by what you're saying about the formations.

Rob faction were you playing as?

yeah basically uo have the towns/cities these produce most of the moeny you get but they troops that they have acess to are basic militia spears militia archers that kind fo thing.

Your castles/fortresses are your military basses these get acesss to the higher end military units foot knights mounted knights that kind of thing, but they dont generate as much money

Played with Spain for some time and I am not very impressed so far. The game looks beautifull, I like the new recruitment and city/castle system. But that doesn't make the game for me. It's the gameplay that is very very weak.

This gameplay seems more unfinished than any of the previous ones. I will put it on the shelf and wait for the patch. The battle system is all F***ed up, sieges and pathfinding are a joke, diplomacy is a joke, inquisitors and the pope are bigger jokes. Unit cohesion is all messed up. Unit stats are messed up also

The game optimization is a positive as I have my computer since 2003 and I can still play this one with medium settings, grass off, and small unit sizes. I get some lag but it is playable, better than the demo.

I agree with all thsoe points lol and ill add some more

the spawned factions behave even stupider than those in BI it took the mogols nearly a century to do anything and the same for the timmurids or whatever they are called (using elephant mounted cannons).

The trip to the "new world" takes along time and isnt worth it it happens to late in the game and the americas are too small and bizzarely shaped to have any real impact.

The most fun thing i have found is the mercenary monster bombard cannon thats great fun agaisnt fortifications lol

Ill reiterate the unit stats point they mean absolutly nothing

the "visual upgrades" to units while they look nice are totally pointless top end units can only get one increase! ie. armoured swordsmen set off with partial plate in this new system they can only upgrade to full plate the old system of +1 +2 etc worked so much better

Hmm... sounds crappy but I bought it to find out for myself. I plan on devoting the next few hours to 'research'.

To be hounest i was not sutisfied in some parts,there is still somekind of colour faction thing in the game,most of the units are complete the same specialy the low quality units.
The pap is annoiyng with the crusades.
The graphics are nice is a litle up from RTW and BI.aucors is using some new effects for the battlefield something like bloom but is not so up from RTW and BI.

Er... I agree with all your compliances. In time the pope will excomunicate every faction. That sucks!!!

Diplomacy sucks too. Everybody wants to make war with me ... that sucks!!!! Couldn't it be a little more stable?

I'd just like to add a new complain ...

THEY WEREN'T ABLE TO FIX THE PROBLEM WITH SPECIAL ABILITIES FORMATIONS YET. ... OHHHHHH ....... IMPRESSIVE.

Just order one spear wall unit to remain on guard and watch they break the formation at the first contact with the enemy. So, those soldiers are only posing for photos while crouching with their halberds and vouges touching the ground.

Overal result: No modified effect on combat due to the special ability.

Conclusion: Using spear wall is useless, it's better to turn it off and charge with the unit.

Units balancing stats suck too. Bad values, including a very unbalanced number of men on the units.

Path finding really sucks!!!!

The only positive aspects of the game are its improved grass and trees (now you can see your army on the forests) and the return of the movies!!!!!! I every faction having mission could be good if the missions were at least reasonable.

Another waste of money....

Well is not actually a waste of money is the only game that gives to the player the filling to control massive armys in real time and to control his empire i believe is a good series
of games but compare with the promises of CA i must say......PEOPLE OF SEGA I WILL NOT PLUS MY MONEY TO YOUR SALARY AND F*****RELEASE HALF MADE GAMES CAUSE CRISTMASS WAS NEAR AND THE KIDS WANT A GAME TO BUY WITH THEY FATHERS MONEY.LETS SEE WHAT F*****PATCH CA WILL RELEASE TO FILL THE HOLES OF RUSHING THAT SEGA WAS MADED TO SELL THE GAME AND FILL THEY POCKETS...WELL ATLIST I AM NOT A KID AND I WILL NOT BUY THE GAME ......AND WERE IS THE MODDING TOOLS OF CA ABOUT MODELS AND TEXTURES THEY THEY WILL UNHARDCODED WELL.......BULLSHIT!!!!!!!

centurion.gif I also played TWM 2 first with the Venetians to unlock the other civs & then I conquered the entire map with the Byzantines. I liked the graphics and the civs
But the game lacks reliability, units skinning, and of course A.I. For example a nice way to defend your city from Mongol's attack if they pass the Gate is to keep your soldiers on the City walls the Mongol's Cavalry don't go through to capture the city center they stay there until time is up !!!! horsie.gif
What do you think of the units-models they are all the same plus that they look like ELVES from the Lord of the Rings action-smiley-060.gif
For the Rest after I complete the World Conquer I uninstall the Game until a descent mode for it comes up.

What about Hegemonia? When it will be ready?
