I also heard about probiotics "leaking" through the gut like the molecules of food do if you take them to soon with leaky gut. I couldn't tolerate the Culturelle in the beginning. I felt like I got a cold everytime I took them. It doesn't happen to me now. However it would be a big "catch 22" if you had to wait to take probiotics to heal leaky gut, but need the probiotics to heal the leaky gut!! yeahright.png I think everyone may be a bit different with respect to which probiotic works for them.

I'm also a strong believer in Florastor because of how much it helped me. It has a secondary benefit of improving the mucosal layer in the gut. I've been taking Florastor for over a year now along with custom probiotics. Although, now I am down to a small maintenance dose. 1 cap a day. I did orginally start the Florastor because I had C. diff and poor mucosal lining in the gut. (score of only 80 with 400-800 being normal). I got it up to par in less then a year though. I'm also a strong believer in L-glutamine, again, because of how much it helped me. I still take 1 tsp 30 min before my breakfast.

Also remember that if you have leaky gut and you don't kill the yeast causing it before you take other things, the holes can still be there for a while.

Probiotics kill bad bacteria and yeast (assuming you are taking the right ones....), the L-glutamine rebuilds the gut walls in about 3 days, if I correctly remember Lannie's words previously.

I'd use a strong anti-fungal to kill the yeast first (maybe for a week or 2), then use L-glutamine and probiotics together.
