RE Damnation TrailerResident Evil: Damnation is the sequel to RE: Degeneration, the CGI flick by Capcom, not to be confused with the live-action films staring Milla Jovovich and produced by Sony, which has four sequels already.
Damnation will be released on September 25th, according to
Amazon.com.
I suppose Capcom saw the success of Sony's (North American) RE franchise and decided to make their Japanese spin on RE, probably to bring out a series that's closer to the video games.
Let's just face the facts here. Paul Anderson's RE movies, even if he says are taken from the games, all revolve around Milla's character, Alice. Alice and Paul Anderson are married and have a child together. Ever since RE's sequel came out, they've had a $200,000,000 budget. If he keeps Alice as the main character, that's more money in their pockets.
Let's also face another fact. Capcom saw the success of the live action films and they really like money too. If they say they're doing it because of fans outcries over the live action films not being true to the video games, that's just something Capcom can play off of, because in reality, the CGI films DO cater to RE video game fans, while the live action films cater to everyone, including people who love action, horror, and mindless zombie flicks.
