Rumors have been flying around a lot lately. One thing that Nintendo stated from the beginning is that the Wii U would be more powerful than the Wii and current gen consoles. Developers, on the other hand, are reporting that the Wii U can't even compete with current-gen systems, in terms of graphics and processing power. Some blame the Wii U's GPU, which allows the controller to act as a handheld tv, as the culprit, stating that if the extra costs would have been put into processing power and not the tablet controller, Nintendo could have competed.

Developers claim Wii U weaker than PS3, 360

Also, the 720 will reportedly have a built-in kinect sensor, to use voice and movements for 'human' controllers. The 720 will also reportedly have a blu-ray drive.
