So, who all is getting flooded with rain or snow? We've had so much rain lately that I have to use water boots to even get to my place every day for the last week or so!

So, what else is new? I haven't been playing many games lately but have been trying to focus a little bit of time on my small plant nursery, trying to propagate more stuff and trying to get more parent stock.

The whole South is cold and wet, especially over here in 'bama. I don't remember seeing any sun all of this year! I'm not sure how the climate changed this way, but all I can say is it's miserable.

Other than that, I complete my degree in three months, and head out to begin a career. I want to be an author, but these days it's rare to have any full time authors who only write every single minute. Most people do that stuff while they live life. I'm still looking for a career I can appreciate and enjoy waking up to every day. That interests me more than today's world news or celebrity gossip. Hope I find something good.

In the meantime...

Well, you could always combine writing with photography and travel and freelance for national geographic or whoever is interested at the time.

Got the plant propagation table full!

Freelancing is a cool idea, writing about the latest news or about what I like. I'll also need to consider my other options after I talk with the people at the career center back at school. I'm not ruling anything else out. I'll be ok.

^^Good picture. What are you planting in those pots?

Let's see if I can remember all the stuff put in those pots... lol

Dwarf azalea, bottlebrush, spirea, pomegranate, thornless blackberries, sweet viburnum, wild and tame blueberries, red tips, japanese magnolia, rose of sharon, roses, rosemary, yew, sweet tea olive, papyrus grass, creeping phlox, and???

Most of these pots were recently collected again a few days back from plants, seeds, cuttings, etc that haven't made it. A big majority of them came from my Washington palm seedlings which froze when we had that four or five days in the 20s. So, they're being used again to create new plants. Some will take, and some won't, and by this time next year, I'll be doing it all over again!

In other pots (not on the propagation table) I also have figs, mayhaws, white shamrock, and various other cuttings I'm trying to get to root as well. You probably know what a mayhaw is, considering it's an Alabama native. They are more popular in Georgia though, where there are mayhaw festivals and such and are prized for their jellies. I have a lot of low/swampland. So, this is one of the plants I have in the low areas.

It has been a strange winter. All the snow seems to hit the south harder than the north. Here in North Jersey we got nothing from this huge storm. As far back as I can remember the north was always hit harder, but this year its so different.

It's snowing in Alabama- we're supposed to get 2-4". Whu da thunk it? How's the weather for the rest of you- Chris, Steve, and Krissy? There must be snow forts where you guys live! Malakai, is it snowing in Florida?

Getting it here is just as unusual. School's been closed because of it. Well, since we're getting this kind of weather, what are everyone's weekend plans? I plan to catch up on my games, since most places are probably closed anyway.

So i checked the weather on sunday and it said rain and snow all week but mainly rain and any accumulation would be less than an inch. Now I am hearing 5-9 inches for tomorrow. What is up with this winter??

Just thought I'd keep this thread alive and leave it more accessible to all.

Right now we're having a giant thunderstorm and I'm hoping the power doesn't go out before I finish typing this sentence.

We've had several weeks of spring weather- sun, green grass, great garden weather if you live in rural Florida. smile.gif Now after all these longer days (sunny till 8:00 PM now), I guess we were due for a storm this Easter weekend.

How's Florida, New Jersey, New Hampshire, Wisconsin, etc?

Maybe the hard rain will be gone later today.

My part of Florida has been hot, sunny, and humid. I'd actually like it to rain a little every 3 days or so, to keep the plants happy. It's hard to tell exactly how many plants I have potted and planted now, and they are all over every corner of my property and everywhere in-between.

That's cool.

By the way, I got to see all the garden pics you've already posted, but what I'd tried to mention earlier was how cool it would be to (maybe) bunch them together and fit as many within one pic as possible. That's what was different about the ones you did put up- those pics of plants were taken individually.

Heck, you could even divide them up, like fruits, flowers, and/or miscellaneous. Now that would be eye candy.

As for the weather there, it's great to see Florida is getting more sun. Fortunately my power is still working, but it looks like sunset over here- near 9 in the morning!

the picture hosting server i'm using actually degrades the quality/resolution of the pics I post. So, if I bunched them together, most likely, each individual picture in the collection would be blurred, hard to see.
