Thanks! I feel like such an old man now...big changes in my life though. I moved to north jersey, got myself a 2 bedroom co-op, I moved because I am now working as an english teacher in one of the top high schools in the state.

It is amazing, each classroom has a smart board and some even have senteo clickers. Picture who wants to be a millionare and then using a life line they poll the audience. Thats the clickers.

Going from an urban district to an upper class one is pretty exciting and scary. Sure, the pay is so much more, but so is the cost of living. The students will be better behaved, but now you have to deal with parents.

Thanks for the birthday wishes, what is everyone else upto?

This is my final year of school, as you may know. One of my classes (tech writing) will be used to help me apply for my first job I'll get since I left the work force and continued school back in 2007. What it is remains to be seen.

College ball starts this Saturday Sept 5. We're (I mean Bama- not me) taking on Virginia Tech at 8pm eastern (7pm central) on ABC. It's gonna knock your socks off! Check it out!

What are these smart boards and clickers you speak off?

I think he's talking about the setup where the teacher presents a poll or question on the wall/board and students choose an answer.

The clicker is the remote with a keypad on it that lets you answer the question (whatever it is) by pressing a certain letter or number.

Using wi-fi (I think), the clicker then transmits the answers onto the board, which displays the results, like polling the audience in 'Millionaire.' It's a very simple tool to use.

Most schools nationwide- K-12 and higher learning- use these devices, especially in math and science classes. Not so much in arts and English.

My goodness how time flies!

I remember when you turned 30, Steve. How do you like your new settings (home, work, etc.) after a year?

Have a great birthday! It is your day. (again) Happy 31st!

I had to bump this. I couldn't resist.

hah thanks....31 wow...this is getting scary...
But I am a home owner so that is coo,l. I bought a condo in ramsey and it is going well. I live at home depot now basically...I am learning a lot now and forcing myself to be a handyman of sorts around the house.
I put in marble floors, refinished closets, put in celing fans, really trying to increase the value of this place so when the economy is better i can sell. It is in an incredible part of north jersey 5 min from upstate ny with top schools and all.

I work 15 min from here so thats cool too.
