I have a goat that had triplets on tuesday morning, she delivered one out side and I took her to the barn, she had the secong and third ones asap, I cleaned them up, she accepted them at first, but then she started to butt the other two,I put perfume on the nose of her and the butts of the babies, she did fine, but today two of the babies got out of there pen and she acted like she was going to kill them when I put them back in, I took her out and let her graze for awhile she wanted back in so I let her in again, now she doesnt want any of them Helpppppppppppp

i wish i had good news for you but it sounds like you need to break them to a bottle.they have had their colostrum already so you can either milk her or put them on whole milk or replacer. in the future never clean them up. just clear the air way and once you know they are breathing let her clean them up its their bonding time. perfume isnt a good idea either. she wants to smell her scent on her babies. there are ways to get moms to take their kids but for her to reject them after 2 days i wouldnt trust her to raise them.
i hope this helped and i will be glad to answer any other questions you may have .and welcome to goat chat

Thanks, looking back on it, I knew it was dumb to help clean them.Overzealous mom I guess. The perfume idea came from a sheep rancher.I feel bad for her, she knows she has a baby, and she keeps coming to the pen, but when I let her in she smells, them all and walks away when they try to nurse, I have the towel I used to clean them, would it help to wrap them in it???

you can milk her and rub it on the kids . this may help .hold her and let them nurse. this may be the best way but you will have to watch her close. if she doesnt accept them right back i wouldnt chance it. you might try to rub them with the towel but from tuesday to now thursday i dought it will carry the smell good enough.

uP DATE, i WENT DOWN TOT HE BARN TONIGHT AND SHE WAS STANDING THERE, i LET HER IN THE PEN, SHE NUZZLED THE BLK\WHITE BOY, and she nursed the white boy also, he was her first born and I did not interfere with his birth at all,I held the tiny doeling, when they were done nursing she noticed there was two babies nursing, and she started running away, she cant seem to make up her mind from day to day as to who is her favorite, the tiny doe nursed the bottle very well, so I will supplement them all and let her in to nurse them under strict supervision.
