Please feel free to post ideas you may have for upcoming books for our discussion group. It can be anything you like or have an interest in reading.

I would post except I don't want to hoard this this thread. Classics . My suggestion is "Emma", my favorite Jane Austen book(sorry P&P lovers). It has the same comic tone to it her other books do but Emma, unlike most of Janes other heroines is a flawed herione and there are reason's not to like her, but you know what. You do. Emma is arrogant but she is witty and kind, same as Elizabeth Bennet in P&P and Eleanor Woodhouse in Sense and Sensibility.

Sense and Sensibility is my favorite Austin, Darcy. Did you see all the Austin movies on PBS this past winter? I really enjoyed watching them all.

Sonja,
I have to say I love all Jane Austen and Sense and Sensibility is second on my list. Another classic. I watched the entire Jane Austen series on PBS this winter/spring and it was well worth it ending with the wonderful version of P&P. I was going through withdrawal from my once favorite soap(believe it or not I was a soap junkie at one point) and this was a welcome escape. This and reading. Aside from PBS and the Food network, I can't find much to watch on TV of value, which works out fine. Gives me time to enjoy things that really keep my brain busy. Darcy |

I am recommending Ghostwalk by Rebecca Scott. No reason other than someone I was talking to at the libary the otherday suggested it.

Kate and Darcy
I'm not quite sure what happened but I think ya'll were both talking to me? My name isn't Sonja. It's Jennifer. But I usually just go by BG, for Book Girl, at online book websites. I'm a total Days of our Lives fan, even though the writing isn't the best most of the time. BG |

I hope they don't mind if I answer for them, but it was General Hospital, and for reasons that are WAY too many to list, we've given up that crapfest for good. That show blows. I am a lapsed Days fan myself. Just to show off my age, I was a HUGE Jack and Jennifer fan. My college roommate always teases me about how Jennifer just HAPPENED to have remembered her diaphriagm in her pocket the first time they made love in a cave. |

Hey, Jack and Jennifer were on when I was in college! lol And I'm not old at all. But Jack was dying all the time and J/J had Abby. They were a favorite of mine too. The show is picking up again though, you should check it out for a week or two.
I take it most of ya'll were on a soap board together. I belong to a small and friendly Days (and formerly Passions) forum. The girls who run it also run an all soaps forum and a prime time forum. We all met on a massive Days/Passions forum run by one of the leading Days/Passions websites (you might know which one I mean if you read recaps at any point). Despite the fact that the guy who runs the website is a real sweetie, that forum got too nasty (he didn't have the time to keep track of all that went on in such a large forum and there were few mods in the beginning). |
