Well finally warming up here in the upper midwest. We had a very cool spring and snowy winter. I finally had my sunroof open on my car for the first time this weekend.

I want to know if anyone has seen the play 'The Lady with all the Answers'. It's here in Chicago for a month with the wonderful Judith Ivey playing the head. It is about Ann Landers, the columnist who dispensed advise for years to weary readers. It is a one woman show and I am intrigued. The show has gotten good reviews here in Chicago as it did in LA. But Chicago was Ann's home(Epie Lederer). Going to see it tonight and I hope I am not disappointed. Ann was a Chicago icon.

The play was wonderful. Nothing heavy, but it was wonderfully acted and staged. I guess this production in Chicago is the first that did not do a theatre in the round and actually used her apt on Lake Shore Drive in Chicago as it's set. I read her editor who used to dine with her at her apt weekly visited the set before the show and was amazed at how realistic it was, he said it made him miss her even more.

It's basically Ann talking to the audience about her years as a columnist, her upbringing, all through her reading letters from people over the years and her life. All really centered around her divorce and the column she wrote to her readers about her divorce.

Judith Ivey who you might remember from a couple of seasons on Designing Women was wonderful. It was written by David Rambo with a lot of input from Margo Howard, Ann's daughter.

One interesting tidbit. Ann Lander and Dear Abby were twin sisters as you may know. Ann's name was Esther Pauline and she went by Epie. Abby's name was Pauline Esther and she went by Popo.

Darcy happy you enjoyed it. I loved it as well. It reminds me of the days I used to buy the Chicago Sun Times on my way to work downtown, thumnbing immediately to read Ann Landers and Mike Royko first. 2 Chicago and newspaper icons. They just don't make em like that anymore.

I was making inquiries about this play and it seems like a very short run, only until the end of June. I need to get my butt in gear and get to see it.

Anyone see Sex and the City yet. That is the only other summer movie I want to see besides the Indy Jones flick. I loved the show.

I love Judith Ivey. What a great actress.

I actually went to see both those films yesterday. We're having a heat wave and it was about 100 here, so the movie theater was the best place to be. If you loved the show, Joanna, you'll love the movie. It's basically a two and a half hour episode. cool.gif I found it a little long, but it was fun.

Indiana Jones was fun, too. Not nearly as good as the other films, but godd mindless entertainment. Shiw LeBeouf is a great addition to the movie, and I love Cate Blanchett in almost anything. I'd recommend it.

I saw both films and loved them. Neither were great film and SATC was a little long but both were incredibly entertaining and isn't that what films are supposed to be about .

And on a side not can I look like Kim Catrell when I am over 50, Heck even now.

I meant to add this yesterday. My favorite part about SATC? It gave a shout-out to libraries! They had Carrie commenting on how she loved the smell of library books, and the beautiful NY Public Library is the backdrop of a major plot point in the film. Yay libraries!

Can you tell I'm a geek?

I loved that too Beth. Book geeks galore. My husband says I read too much. Lot he knows.

Shocked is all I can say people to Tim Russert dying. I always found him a pretty good interviewer. I will certainly miss him.
