First off, welcome everyone! I hope these boards will help you find further connections. I realize there are boards like these all over the internet, and this is just another tool to use. This board is for discussion of the Kern surname and all of its many variations, including but not limited to Kerns, Kernes, Kearn, Kearns, Kearnes, Cern, Cernes, Cearnes, Carn, Carns, and Carnes.
I have a few rules for these boards to help make it a more comfortable chat for everyone who comes.
1. At this writing, everyone is allowed to read messages, post a reply, and start a new topic unless that person has been banned for inappropriate use of the boards. I hope to keep it that way, it means anyone can use these boards, not just people who are registered. However, if the boards get hit by spam or unregistered users start to cause problems, this will change.
2. No cursing allowed. If you curse in your post, I will delete your post. I don't care if you curse in your everyday life, but it's not allowed on here. If you are transcribing a record or something of that nature that contains any cursing, contact me off the board to ask for permission first.
3. No sexual material can be posted. This is excepted if it's taken into historical or genealogical context, such as a discussion on puritanical ethics. I will be the judge and jury when it comes to deeming if it's acceptable. If in doubt, contact me.
4. If your post is about another surname that is related somehow to the Kerns, be sure to show how the Kern surname fits in or the post will be moved to the "Other Surname" section of the boards. If I find a surname keeps popping up that is related, I may decide to make a sub-board for them.
I believe that is all and I hope these boards will help you on your journey to discovering more about your Kern ancestors.
