I'm hoping to go see it tonight; it's opening at 8:00pm at our local multiplex...they're showing it on all 12 screens. biggrin.gif If it's insane or sold out, we'll see it tomorrow night.

Anyone else planning on seeing it soon? Once you've seen it, what did you think?

If it's amazing, I'll go see it. Otherwise, I'll wait until it's on a movie channel like I usually do with movies.

I look forward to reading your review when you get home. Don't forget, peanut M&M's are the weapon of choice when dealing with annoying movie patrons. They can hurt! biggrin.gif

Well I just got back. I wont give much away but ill say a few things about the movie as initial impressions. If you a fan of transformers you must see it. I was totally impressed with the quality. Yes there was a few "romantic" scenes in it but they were very tolerable cause the girl was very hot. I only found two CGI issues but they were very short and still of high quality. Voice overs were fantastic, transformations flawless. Story...bleaviable, well written and accurate from what I remember as a child watching the toon's. The product placement was great and the rumors were true a 360 does transform but you don't see the final transformation as well as a Mountain Dew machine with machine guns. Comedy was hilarious, thankfully they didn't go over board with it. Plenty of action but i would have liked to see more. So if your thinking about going to see it, don't think just go.

Last note: You don't get to see much of Starscream but when you do its unreal how cool the aerial acrobatics are. Thats all I'm saying cause i don't want to give anything away or ruin it for anyone else. Hopefully others thought the same as I did about the movie.

BEST. MOVIE. EVAR!!!!!! thumbsup_still.png thumbsup_still.png thumbsup_still.png thumbsup_still.png thumbsup_still.png

Went to the premier last night at 8:02 and my wife and I sat there with our mouths hanging open in awe the entire time. Abso-freaking-lutely amazing. If you even remotely like Transformers, you have to see this movie. They set it up nicely for a sequel, which is great, considering that I NEED MORE!!!

On an aside...son took his girlfriend to Ratatouille.....they both said it was fantastic..best Disney movie ever! A very cute film.

Certainly the best of the Summer Crop so far! The CGI was awesome, it kicked off with action, and just built the whole way through. Great humor, and you actually started caring about the Transformers, which is pretty amazing when you really consider what they are. Having the original voices for Prime and Mega really took me back to my childhood days. Overall an excellent action/sci-fi flick that I may actually try to catch again in the theaters!

I cried for Bumblebee....yeah I cry at movies...lol! (husband doesn't know what to do with me...any sad part I am empathetic to the character and I cry...which is why I can't watch really intense violent movies...they upset me too much.)

Dredd: unfortunately, Megatron was voiced by Hugo Weaving...Michael Bay chose not to use Frank Welker (the original voice of Megatron) in the film. But he does the voice in the game, which is still very awesome.

Bay says that Frank Welker sounded "too old," but the rumor is that he (Bay) doesn't like being told what to do and that he had already made up his mind on who he wanted. What's nice is that Hugo Weaving did a great job, and sounds very close to the original (as any who have seen it can tell).

I would highly recommend that if you're a Transformer fan and you haven't already seen it, to watch the 1986 animated movie. I own the collector's edition, saw it in the theater in '86, and loved/still love it. biggrin.gif

*Me will probably watch it again when he gets home*

Well as Hugo Weaving had to act mostly with his voice in V for Vendetta, he was a good choice for voice talent. I have the 1986 movie on vhs. Still a pleasure to watch.

Yeah, I bought the DVD when it was first released, then the collector's edition as soon as it came out. My VHS copy was pretty well worn out; I've watched it so many times. The upside to the new DVD is that they remastered the picture and sound, so it looks closer to the original. Hard to believe that was 21 years ago, huh?

Speaking of which...Megan Fox, who plays Makaela in the new movie, was born the year the animated movie came out. blink.gif I'm getting old...
