Summary and Character Creation, Stuff about the Metal Gear RPG

Alrighty, everyone. Due to the falling apart of the FI: Fantasy Imagination for which the board was created, we now bring you the new Roleplays section, which covers RPGs anyone can do. To test the theory on this board, and to actually get a working RPG up, we've created an RP in the epic Metal Gear Solid universe.

So first off, create a character. Attached to this post is a set of rules for the game, including character creation info. It's an old RPG system I developed for Cypher's K&K and my own Warhammer RPG. So, recycling that, is the EX:RPG system.

For those of you who don't know, Metal Gear Solid is an epic series created by Hideo Kojima as a stealth action series on par with James Bond in America. The main protagonist, Solid Snake, is a smooth operator and lethal soldier not unlike the three J.J.'s (Jack Bauer, James Bond, Jason Bourne). So, in the RPG, you'll be creating characters as part of FOXHOUND, a special forces group that specializes in stealth missions. However, FOX is made up for extremely deadly soldiers, including "Special Talents": from the Gunfighter, Revolver Ocelot, to the psychic, Psycho Mantis.

For your character:

You'll play as a human, obviously, and a member of FOXHOUND. You may select some basic special powers, though please clear these with the GM (me) before you put them on your sheet.

26 Attribute Points

Starting Equipment:
-Sneaking Suit (+2 Sneak)
-Scope (Long-range, multi-use goggles)
-Active Radar (Detects life, search +4 for other living beings)
-First Aid Kit (Allows the healing of wounds)
-Codec (Nano-machine based radio mounted in ear)

Obviously, depending on your character, we can negotiate on equipment.

Standard Skills:

--Marksmanship: Added to Dexterity for your Attack Score, this aids ranged attacks.
--Hand-to-Hand: Added to Dexterity for your Attack Score, this aids melee attacks without weapons.
--Melee Combat: Added to Dexterity for your Attack Score, this is melee attacks with weapons.
--Evade: Ranks in this are subtracted from an attacker’s Attack Roll.
--Lock picking: Allows characters to bypass locks using simple picks or electrical gear. Adds to Intelligence.
--Diplomacy: Used for barter, delicate discussions and the like. Adds to Charisma.
--Stealth: Avoid the sight of the enemy. Adds to Mental Defense.
--Pilot: The skills of driving vehicles. Adds to Dexterity.
--First Aid: Healing other characters using medical equipment. Adds to Intelligence.
--Swimming: The ability to swim, adds to Strength.
--Language: The ability to speak another language. Applies to Intelligence.
--Con: The ability to lie. Applies to Mental Attack and Defense.
--Search: The ability to spot things. Applies to Intelligence.
--Climbing/Jumping: The ability to climb and jump. Applies to Strength and Dexterity.
--Repair: The ability to repair mechanical things: Applies to Intelligence.
--Technology: The knowledge of advanced tech. Applies to Intelligence.
--Computer Use: The ability to work with computers. Applies to Intelligence.

I'll try to look at this in more detail either after school or this weekend. And FI, for the record, did not fail. You guys just chose not to play it. Recently it has been upgraded from play-in-person to play-by-phone, both being just as easy. However, I guess you can't play because it would be long-distance and really expensive lol....not to mention time difference. Basically it's been available, you just choose not to play it.......

.........whatever .... no one liked it or if they did didn't let me know, and it's not your type of rpg and ... you know what let's just drop it lol. i'm tired of arguing. BUT!!! character sheet ... i'm working on it now......
