What is Nuclear proliferation? Nuclear Proliferation is the disarmament of nuclear weapons. There are three main beliefs in this, One is to Ban and take these weapon away, and asking for a complete proliferation of world nuclear arms. Another belief is that stricter laws and handling of nuclear weapons should be enforced, and yet others believe that they should become the main defense of a country. This issue is still not dead today, because of nations such as Iran and North Korea threaten the world with the surreality of this. It wasn't more than two years ago that N. Korea launched their Taipodong 2 Missile and it crashed into the sea of Japan. And its known that if Iran gets its hands on nuclear weapons, they will assuringly use it on Israel, and start a new "Holocaust".
We then come to a new cross roads, What is a nuclear weapon? A Nuclear weapon is a Fission based bomb, in other words, it is a bomb that uses a nuclear reaction from the splitting of Plutonium and Uranium atoms, causing a series of chain reactions that releases extreme heat and radiation. If its not the initial blast that kills you, its the extreme radiation levels. You may not die until many years later, because radiation can cause cancer to form around your body.
Walk down this path, we come across an intersection, How Do we know this information?
Well that is simple... In August, of 1945 we, the United States, bombed the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. In total we killed more than 200,000 lives(in bomb related incidents included). The effects of this horrible act of inhumanity, are still seen today. Not just in memory, but also on buildings on monuments. In Hiroshima, there is a statue of a crane. The story behind this crane involves a bomb victim who was infected with cancer. In japan there is a belief that if you fold a thousand cranes, you will be granted a wish. So this girl, not much older than 13, folded thousands and thousand of cranes, till the day she died. After hearing this, many people have said " how can god allow this to happen?" no... The real question is " how can man allow this to happen?"
There are more than SIXTEEN nations known to have nuclear weapons,and there are even more nations trying to develop these bombs. To say that this is not a problem would be more than absurd, because the problems are self evident. If there is believed to have been a nuclear launch around the world aimed at the united states, it would be "5 Minutes to Midnight". We know that this is true, it almost happened in the 1960's. We also know that Osama Bin Laden almost obtained such weapons. But even more scarier than that, is the fact that many soviet warheads are unaccounted for.
I write to ask, what is your opinion on this issue, after reading this. please give examples, and why you believe what you believe.

I think that we should impose UN sanctions for the materials needed for nuclear arms, to certain nations, and should impose military action on ANY country trying to obtain them. The current nations in the world should be able to keep them, and Russia's warheads should be immediately confiscated since, as with most Russian weapons after the fall of the wall, are being sold on the world market.

Even with the tightest security, and sanctions, problems have occurred, such as 42 years ago today, 4 H-Bombs were accidentally dropped on Spain by the United states. luckily the bombs weren't armed, but, 2 of the fours explosive compounds were triggered, and it had a light explosion which left a small crater and leaked radiation the others didn't explode, one fell inland the other fell in the ocean. The reason this happened was a mid-air collision between a B-52 Stratofortress, and a KC-135 Refeuller. the men in the KC-135 all perished(Obvious reason, i mean its laden with gas), and the crew from the B-52 parachuted safely.
Also, about 6 months ago 4 nuclear warheads from the united states went missing, luckily it was found that they were put on a c-130 and accidentally shipped, but is that really security? Its more of a false sense of one if there ever was. If we should do anything, it should be the complete proliferation of nuclear arms. But that is my opinion, and i shall respect yours.

The only problem with that is that once something ahs been invented, you can't uninvent a technology. If we get rid of all of our nukes, then we will be at the mercy of countries who do have them. Furthermore, rogue nations such as IRan and North Korea are trying to develop nukes. Without the deterant of the United states bomb, then what will prevent Iran from attacking Israel.

Also, most of the things reported in the news are what the government WANTS you to hear, not necessarily the truth.

OK FREIDEL, do you think that I LISTEN to the media?! I get all my information from all possible resources, before i even begin to trust media. the 'effin bleeding heart liberals, taint cnn, and the hard core conservatives hold fast on Fox. what you hear that happens in Iraq, as my father (Who tells me more than any one else) has told me, is no where as bad as what cnn reports, yet not as good as fox. He said, yea he would occasionally be mortared, and have rocket attacks, but they accounted to S#!T.
I base my information off of international, and national government websites, I read reports, and eyewitness testimonies, and find what is feasible from all of these sources. I feal, that in order to actually present your case and point, you need to focus on more than just you believe. DON'T take me for an IDIOT!

Note when i told about proliferation, i speak not only of just the US, but all UN nations. We can't just base our whole defense off of one bomb. Its a double edge sword, if we have to use nuclear arms against a nation, who is new to nuclear weapons and don't fear using them, than they will use them on the US as well. As long as there are nuclear weapons, the fear of nuclear war will never go away. Of course, the chance of having a nuclear free world will cause other nations to want nuclear weapons. Did you know Iraq had nuclear weapons, but gave them up pre-1990? so did more than twenty other nations, which includes many former enemies.
I feel that if the US, a big contender of nuclear weapons, were to lower its Nuclear weapons, and eventually destroy them, than as usual many other nations will follow suit. But i do feel we should keep a reserve of nuclear weapons, in heavily guarded facilities. possibly keeping 1% of the nuclear weapons we currently have (thats 103 nukes which is still more than most nuclear active nations), for safety reasons, such as meteors, and other possible threats. We have other bombs in our country that can easily replace the nuclear bomb, such as one that can destroy a city, but not in the usual sense; another words, it uses a electro-magnetic pulse, which destroys a cities infrastructure. it is highly effective. another can destroy a town, and it is so aptly named MOAB, or "Mother of All Bombs".
We have more practical weapons in our arsenal, that people don't even know of, that are far more effective than a nuclear weapon. its better this, than facing a possible "Broken arrow," for a broken arrow is easy to understand the consequences. A broken arrow is a term for when a US air craft accidentally drops a nuclear weapon, or weapons. The most publicized was the affore mentioned one in Spain, but there have been numerous cases where the US dropped them in the states (broken arrow is used for many things, such as a code in vietnam when a US force was heavily overrun, all air support was sent to that location).
Nuclear weapons were great, until we lost the advantage. They have now lived far to long, and are a thorn in our @ss. Does it really prove our point by retaliating to a nation who has used nukes, with nukes? no. I don't want to see Einstein's prediction to come true, nor do i think you will. "I don't know how World War III will be fought, but I do know that World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones."

Find plants that would be able to survive the Martian atmosphere, and plant a shitload of them. Then, over time, pollute it with carbon dioxide. The greenhouse effect that would occur would heat up the planet, and the plants would use the C02 to make oxygen, and you would be able to live on mars.

It's called terraforming.
