Dear Surro,
We are just in the matching phase looking for a TS or possibly GS to carry a baby for us. We would consider ourselves fairly "crunchy" and very health conscience. We would love someone like minded, however, all the surrogates we have spoken to who claim to have the same thoughts are extremely overweight. By "extremely" I mean well over 30 BMI. I guess my question is to Surro's who consider themselves "crunchy" but are overweight. Do you see that your personal health effects the health of a pregnancy and also that of an unborn child? Why do you consider yourself "crunchy" based on a birth plan but not your own life style? |

I would definitely not consider myself 'crunchy', but I would guess that someone that does may not be looking at the 'whole picture', perhaps they are just 'crunchy' in their views on birth and child rearing.
Perhaps they eat organically, but just don't have the exercise incorporated? I think that's one of the problems with people using a 'type' to sum themselves up. Generally no one really follows anything 100%. I would try to be more specific about your wants so that you are more able to get a surro that matches your needs 100%. |
