Here are some simple rules, and you have probably seen most of them on other sites you have role-played on:

1. No God-Modding - Though it comes by many names, please do not make your character be invincible, have someone else's character do something, or give your character an item they shouldn't have. Though I could go much deeper into this, I think you already know the drill. just don't do it.

2. While violence is acceptable in the role-play, please don't make it excessive. While it is nice to know what you did, excessive gore is not something I want to see on this site.

3. Please keep it PG-13, or if it has something in it that raises a flag, make a note in the thread's title that it is a 'mature' topic.

4. Do not spam, flame or argue in the forums - no one wants to look at it. If there is something you want to resolve between someone, use the lovely little pm feature and keep it to yourselves.

5. No Racism and or Prejudice comments, its rude and uncalled for and therefore will not be tolerated.

6. Please do not double post. It is unnecessary and can be avoided. If you forgot to add something, just edit your post and fix it.

7. You must have an accepted character to post in an RPG section.(admins will check your character's profile at the earliest time possible, so please don't ask them to check it)

8. You are allowed two characters a username, and can have as many usernames as IF will allow. However, unused accounts will be deleted if unused for long enough. Your primary character for that user is to be somehow displayed, either as your user name or a note of it in your signature.

9. While perfect grammar and spelling isn't required it would be nice to the other users to do what you can to make it readable.

10. The minimum post length in a RP tread is one paragraph. A single paragraph consists of at least four sentences if there are no other paragraphs in the post, otherwise they can be shorter if you have another paragraph to compensate for the difference.

11. Don't advertise other site outside of the advertisement area, and only advertise in threads you make there.

12. If a form is available and it does not state otherwise, use that form. For example, a character form from another site that may be better in your opinion, could cause you to have to rewrite your character application or result in a longer waiting period for your character to be accepted since the admins will have to ensure you still meet the requirements.

13. Keep your language in check, this forum is open to anyone thirteen or older.

14. You absolutely can not kill someone else's character without their permission, or that of an admin.

15. At any time you can fill out a form to have your character deleted, and replace one of your two slots with a new character.

16. Lastly, do not ask to become staff - if more staff is needed it will be given to whoever seems best suited to the needs of the forum.

Punishment for breaking the rules depends on the rule broken and the severity of the infringement. This can range from a pm warning that is just to keep you in check or alert you to a small mistake you made, to a full IP ban.
