General Forum Rules
1. Any post with mature content MUST be clearly labeled as such: "MA - Your title here" If your thread has mature content and it is not labeled as such, you will instantly be warned. I understand that mature situations can occur in RPs but not everyone wants to stumble upon them. Likewise, if you choose to view a thread that is clearly marked mature and are offended, this is your own fault. If you are uncomfortable with ANY adult situations, stay away from threads marked MA! If you are unsure if your thread should be marked as mature or not, mark it as such anyway. Better safe than sorry. 2. If you are the starter of a thread that comes to contain mature content, it is up to you to mark it properly. Even if you are not taking part in the mature events, any thread you start is your responsibility. So keep an eye on it or request that it be closed when you are done. 3. Absolutely NO OOC chatter or conversations except in the Out of Character board. It was made specifically for that purpose, so use it if you need ^_^ 4. Cursing is allowed, but do try to keep it limited and tasteful. If you character feels the need to swear like a sailor, please mark your thread as MA. 5. Flamers and general rudeness will NOT be tolerated in any way. 6. Avatars and Signatures may not contain ANY mature content, nor may it be linked. 7. Please keep smilies to a minimum while RPing. A few are okay but please don't feel the need to add one after every sentence. 8. When you post images of your characters, always include base credits! Be sure to include any credits in your sig for avs and sig tags as well!! Role Playing Rules 1. No God-modding. If you're unfamiliar with this term, this means that your characters cannot be perfect and untouchable. If you are in a fight, you cannot land every punch and dodge each of theirs. If something blows up, you cannot come away with just messy hair. 2. No controlling other characters. You cannot assume that a character you are RPing with will react in a certain manner. If you are arguing and someone throws a punch, you cannot assume it hit. You must wait for the other person to reply and let you know. 3. No mind-readers. If a character expresses something in their thoughts, your character cannot just magically know it. Unless that's part of their magical abilities. 4. No killing of characters allowed unless fully discussed and agreed upon by ALL characters involved FIRST. 5. No one-liners. Your character must be thinking something more than that. 6. Word your posts in third person POV. This means using He, She, they, it... Not I, me you. Correct: "Barry smiled down over his supper." Incorrect: "I smiled down over my supper." Try to form your posts as paragrpahs. Twenty lines of text can be a little much without the proper breaks. 7. Use book format when RPing. Meaning all actions and thoughts are iin pain text and spoken words are in quotations marks, just as you would read from a book. 8. Good grammar and spelling is a MUST. Use http://www.dictionary.com if you are unsure of something and do not have a spell checker program available to you. 9. You must post your character's profile before starting ANY role playing. You do not have to wait for me to link it, however. Once you've posted it, feel free to begin RPing right away ^^ 10. You may be actively role playing in only one place at a time. The only exception is if part of your character's magical abilities include bi-location. If you are in a RP that has died and you want to move on, either edit the topic description or PM a mod asking that it be closed. I'll mostly leave it up to you to decide if your thread is dead or not, but I'd say three days of inactivity is a good limit. 11. Once an RP thread is finished, please edit the thread description asking for it to be closed.
