Lisolette trudged through the snow storm, shivering to the bone. The otter-maide pulled the sides of her cloak closer and closer together, wishing that she had never left the safety of Redwall. And all for some stupid stoat... In Mossflower Woods, a stoat had been stealing, kid-napping, and terrorizing the woodlanders, and being the defender she was, Lisolette obviously went after him. Only to loose his trail...There's gotta be some sort of building somewhere...THERE! In the distance was a wood establishment, and with a few hops, a couple skips, and about one jump the otter-maide was at the building.

The Broken Cliff Tavern and Board...wow, awesome name... Lisolette thought sarcastically before stepping in. At least I can get some Z's here...

Tamm sighed as he mulled over his drink at the bar.
Gloomily swishing the brew around, he groaned and reflected on his current state.

Two days ago he and Joshua, his best friend and constant companion, were traversing this paticular streach of forest when they were beset by raiders.
That wasn't part of the plan!

Josh, being so noble (and of noble blood too), swore he'd get to Tamm, rather than risking Tamm trying to rescue him.

That was two days ago.
Now, Tamm was trying broodingly trying to get drunk off of-he checked his mug- lukewarm water.

The sand-furred squirrel fought back another bout of tears. He'd never been anywhere without his buddy, and now he's gone...

He wasn't much of a fighter. More like dead weight to his friend. He was nowhere as good as hs friend, he couldn't even get a-

He turned his head as he heard someone new enter the tavern. He quickly wiped away the stinging wetness around his now dulled eyes, trying to cover up his grief.
He sighed.

This was one heck of a problem.

Lisolette glanced at Tamm, also noticing the poor squirrels sadness. Lady-friend probably left him for being a miserable drunkard... Lisolette thought as she strolled over to theperson where she could get a room. The otter-maide opened her mouth, but didn't say anything. Instead she just glanced at the squirrel.

Maybe... Lisolette couldn't get Tamm's forlorn face out of her mind, and with a huff the otter walked over to the squirrel. "Hi."

"Hello" Tamm replied miserably. In his greif, he accidentally reverted back to his forgien tounge,
"I'm not drunk...just...trying to be drunk. I...lost my friend, and he told me..."

He picked up his mug and started waving it around angrily, "He said to wait! He told me to! Arg! So self-righteous! What a jerk!"

He took a deep breath, then slammed his head back unto the counter, dropping the mug. I..I can't do anything! I'm just...nothing!"

He looked at her, expecting some sort of reply.

Lisolette sat down on the seat next to him. "Hey, at least you didn't lose a criminal..." She muttered before patting the squirrel on the shoulder. "Don't worry, I'm sure your bud will be here soon! He's just a little...late!"

Tamm nearly fell from his seat. In his surprise, he sputtered in the 'regular' tounge of people around here, "You...understand me?!? Whoa! I..nevermind. That's not the first time."

The sombered up rather quickly, "It's not that simple though. He's...been captured. Some raider group, attacked us-him. Left me alone, 'cas I'm so," He sniffled, "He said to wait here. He'd come for me, that's what he said...but...it's been a few days."

He kicked the counter. A bad move, he clutched his aching footpaw, "Argh! I'm not good enough to try and save him! I can't do anything! Damn it!"

He sat back down, and covered his head as he cried.

Lisolette smiled at Tamms surprise, but frowned when Tamm explained why he was here. Feeling more and more compassion for him by the second, the otter-maide squeezed his shoulder encouringly. "Perhaps I can help you."
