Maraul is a small island on the Eastern Sea. Legend has it that the some of the Easterns "followed the stars and came upon an island of two cliffs". They named it Maraul, and following stars has been a tradition for most Maraulians.

Maraul is a two-part island. The first part is a small cliff, with stairs carved in its side. Along the cliff are tents, where the Maraulians live in. Behind the camp is a tower with a bell that is rung by pulling a rope. This bell isn't used much though, only for emergencies. On the other side stands a forest, with berry bushes and large trees. A bridge connects the two parts of Maraul.

Maraul is home to creatures of various types. You'll find mostly mice, squirrels, and sometimes hares who visit from Salamandastron.

When Nagrig Deathblade came to Maraul, he attacked and killed all the adults, taking no notice of the children. Later, a squirrel named Jared Sandeye left Maraul with his siblings. Two years later, Deathblade returned, and burned Maraul with his rats. Jared also returned, but was captured, and then set free. Maraul is now a barren wasteland, and there are no inhabitants. The forest is dead, and the tents and belltower are all burned.
