derane academy.
Imagine it. Year 1905. Baltus Winifred built Derane Academy by himself with his own two hands. Back then, it was a one-room school, not yet one of the country's biggest boarding schools.
As the years went by, DA expanded to what it is now. After a lot of remodelling, the next generation of students are now coming to DA. They come in many varieties and groups- The Ins, The Cheerleaders, The Musicians, everyone in their own little clique.
Next comes the endless drama of all the students. DA seems to revolve around drama. Whether it's the Winter Formal or Exams, there's always some drama here or there.

Aliyah's black heels clanked on the floor as she walked down the hallway. Her recently curled hair bounced up and down as she walked. Brushing her hair from her eyes, she pushed the broad doors to the theater open.

It was quite dark. She ran her fingers over the wall, looking for the switch. Soon, her delicate, light fingers grasped around the switch, pulling it up. In the blink of an eye, many lights came on, starting with the lights in the front, then too the back.

She walked down the aisle happily, twirling her hair with her finger as usual. In her right hand a piece of loose-leaf paper was held lightly by the first hole in it. She skipped down the carpeted aisle, her maroon dress flying above her ankles.

She stepped up the stairs, moving to center stage. She cleared her throat. She held the paper in front of her. "Ladies and gentleman," she said. "Welcome to-" However, she didn't finish. Someone had interrupted her little speech.

Alright, alright, so he wasn't doing anything. What was new? John wasn't the type to actually...go anywhere. It wasn't how he grew up. So, why not break the cycle, meet someone new? He sighed, who would actually want to meet him? Well at least slowly trudging through the halls was better than just sitting in his dorm. So far, it was pretty much equivalent. He still wasn't doing anything. Letting out a sigh, he turned a corner in the halls. The auditorium.

It was open, lights on even. Isn't it usually...empty until they actually use it for something? John thought to himself. It made him a bit curious, he could hear footsteps inside. Only one set of them, but they were definately there. The light brown eyes blinked. The same nothingness showed in them, but he felt a bit confused. Might as well find out... he thought. John moved towards the door, traveling quietly incase he was to be disturbing anything.

It was a rehersal. One person stood upon the stage. John didn't recognize her at all, but she looked a bit younger than himself. Not wanting to disturb anything, he turned to leave. But...he fell. Tripped on a loose shoelace. With a crash he was on the floor. Embarrased, he got up quickly to signify that he was okay. "Sorry..." he murmered to the girl who had stopped her performance.
