I seem to be having a few issues......
1) Uprgraded to the new version of winamp........player started erroring every 2-3 songs, sometimes a script error sometimes player just errored and closed. So today i downgraded to winamp 2.91 - seemed to fix the erroring but for some reason now when i open Debs player the main window of winamp dissapears. It still works but its not visible. This doesnt happen when i just open winamp - only when its opened with Zip Player. Any ideas? |

Hi Kickn,
You are not alone! The new Winamp out (Version 5.5) has big issues. Just starting up Winamp, crashes it out at times. I couldn't get a single song to play -- script errors... and I'm not sure what they even mean. I have been using Winamp 5.35 or 5.21 which are stable versions. I'm not sure why Winamp is minimizing when you start it in the Zip Player. There are options in Winamp, that I would suggest going through the options/preferences. There may be a minimize on start that is set. Did you uninstall Winamp 5.x before installing the new version? You can uninstall Winamp using Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs scrolling down to Winamp, and selecting Remove. I'll try to take a look at it, and get back to you. Let me know how you make out. Thanks, -Debs |

ok - switching to 2.91 didnt work - cause the main window of winamp would't appear.....but taking your advice i searched the internet for 5.21 and found it on filehippo. Problems are all gone - thank you so much...
and for all those thinking about upgrading to Winamp 5.52..... DON'T DO IT!!!!!!!!! Thanks Deb! |

You're welcome Kickin Karaoke!
I've been using Winamp V5.35 and V5.21 for the past year without any issues. I tried updating to V5.5 and it really didn't work out. There's really no reason to upgrade when something works... so I quickly went back to my old Winamp. I have both versions available to give to anyone who needs to "down-grade" back to a stable version. Sorry you had to spend the time surfing the net to find it. Glad all is working for you now! Enjoy!! -Debs |
