It's going to take a little while to explain... On Monday, I (Ian) was offered the chance to join [RAGE], a very well ranked guild, in a very well ranked alliance with [DOG], Frogs In The Ghetto Go [MOO] and several other high ranked guilds, the worst guild in the alliance was rank 219!!! The offer was out there, I wanted a change for once and I wanted to learn from a high ranked guild so I, with more thought than was healthy for me (I sort of stressed about it) decided to take Ben and Slam up on their offer. Bailey gets the same offer I did a few hours later, and Austin (aka binabik) gets informed that he's welcome to join as well. Before our leaving, we talked with Ben about our decision, he suggested that we, rather than leave for RAGE, start our own guild. A guild comprised of the core members only! One by one, the core members appear as online on my, Austin and Devin's (aka Blood face) friends’ lists and we talk it over with Ben once more before actually making our decision. Our final decision was to make a guild. The agreed name was Enigmatic Prodigies [eP]. For the most part (excluding 1 or 2 people) it was nothing personal with anyone from the guild, but we all noticed one sad fact...DD's rank, was directly correlated to your activity. While you were on, our rank was up (bad!), while you’re gone our rank is down (good).
Our problem with the guild was that we wanted a core group, and it was well deserved in my opinion. You ran DD as a Dictatorship when DD, (as a PvP guild) should have been ran as a Democracy, this has been agreed upon by all the officers and has been like that for some time now. If you're not sure what I mean...then take for example when the guild changed from PvE to PvP - this was not a guild decision, but Anthony's decision! When the guild was to be revamped into only people we need, it was all Ants’ choice. I believe that what the officers had to say had a big part of Anthony's decisions, but by now, officer's cant kick without first talking with Anthony, they cant promote without talking with Anthony. Another example of this was when Azreal was promoted when he was first in the guild. It wasn't my decision, or anyone else's one decision...but a group decision, a day or 2 later, I get pulled into the officers’ channel being questioned on why he got promoted before going through Anthony. For anyone that watches the news, you’ll know that places like Iraq and Afghanistan are ruled by a dictatorship, you'll know that a dictatorship doesn't work in modern day society, so I ask you Anthony...what made you think it would work here, in "YOUR" guild? As Iraq is in chaos, the same was to come of DD at some point or another. The one thing that stopped it was the Trustworthy officers that you had chosen. As Tim and Ben did before us, we held the guild together while you was out for over a month! I'm sorry man, but 1 month is completely unacceptable, and I know there's nothing you could do about it and that you have you're priorities, but this time around when it happened again, you refused to let “YOUR” guild into the hands of your officers. I hate to break it to you Anthony, but this so-called "your baby, your pride and joy" wasn’t being held together by you, but it was being held together by your officers, there’s hardly a guild now without the officers, the reason why people were staying was because WE were active, WE GvG'd, WE were friendly, and with the help of a few good guys (Az, Ben and Slam), WE brought the rank down, Bailey got the Vent server and I kept our new site going after Satans built it. Excluding the people in the guild, and your friendly leadership...im trying to figure out what significant part of the guild that you contributed? I want you to know, that however you run the guild from here on in is your choice, but let this be a learning experience in being a leader and the type of guild you want. On a more personal matter…I felt like shit when I left, but I didn't want to have to hold the guild together by strings for a second time (in my experience, but it would be a third time overall), I didn't want to have to pull the guild from the ashes again, as you sat idly by with no internet, not willing to hand me what I well deserved man...I sat there Sunday night and listened to you cushion the fall for Matt when he F**ked up big time when we all know that that should’ve been the last straw. Him and his new members got us kicked out of the best alliance DD ever had: SFK (recently been awarded Guild of the Week by Guild Wars.com), he F**ked us over in the GvG and has left once or twice because of the simple fact that a few people played W. o. W (that was his almost EXACT excuse!) and we all know that he has acted up in the past. Also, you had a problem with the wow players and you can’t deny that…whenever we were needed we were there, but that wasn’t enough for you. In punch’s case, I agreed with his removal from DD completely, but I remember you saying one day “Ian, you got to cut back on the wow man. We play enough games as it is, we play tribes and Guild Wars and another MMORPG on top of that is almost too much” which at the time, I agreed a little…but that’s complete bullshit man! That was one problem I had…is that you despised a game that you hadn’t even played! There’s a reason why not quite 1million people play GW and 7 million play World of War craft. I seen no reason from you, to quit, neither did Devin, Bailey or Joseph, and Sunday night, I heard you complaining about the wow players man…that made my blood F**king boil, you basically complained because from time to time we decided to play another game even though we were there when we were needed and that’s all that mattered! Now, thing’s are much nicer, we have a small discrete guild of highly active, skilled players, we have our own cape, our own hall and we’re making our own decisions on what to do…notice I didn’t use the word “I” in there anywhere, or “My”. I also want you to know that I’m still a friend and im not going to shut you out because we’re not in the same guild anymore, remember, the guild is yours to have everyone 18+ with 250k+ balth faction or whatnot, you’ve got no one to interfere or get pissed off with you, also if you ever need someone for a gvg, im here’ and im willing to accept a guest invite, and im sure the others will do the same as well. Keeping in mind that we left to do our own thing and not out of spite to piss you off to kill the guild. If you’re thinking of disbanding, please don’t! Nick created that guild, and I don’t think he’d appreciate it if you up and disbanded what he willingly handed over to you (I was talking with him yesterday, he was worried that you’d disband and that he was willing to take the guild off your hands if you wanted to join another guild rather than work on DD from scratch again.) I had mixed feelings while typed this so if something pissed you off…it was probably because I was pissed off while writing it, or felt like shit when things get kind of glum. Our leaving was for the better of the people of eP. <fyi, this is generally aimed towards Anthony, and was typed at 1 in the morning, so things might be out of line cus i wasn't thinking straight and didn't have the time to review. Bye! May the guild still be successful...recruiting should be easy at rank 600!) |
