anyone still playing IW? great!(xP) anyway, there seems to be some talk on damage scaling in the cutscene ultimates being random. well so far in my studies it's anything but. i've tested most of the characters so far, and not one cutscene ultimate didn't succumb to damage scaling. i thought it might have something to do with winning/losing the struggle but lo and behold, it didn't. so basically the more hits in the combo beforehand, the less damage the ultimate is going to do.
i plan on going through all the characters ultimates soon and finding if there are any exceptions and how much damage scales by, etc. i've heard something about a cutscene ultimate that resets the combo meter which would probably not end up scaling, but that just makes sense. and i doubt there would be more than one meaning damage scaling is NOT random, so that's not gonna be a vaild excuse anymore to hate the game =P
opinions/findings anyone? got any data you've tested? i'd be glad to hear it.
I never said it was random as in damage scaling happens random we meant there was no rhyme or reason to which ones scaled and which didnt
Edit-I think i know what causes damage buffering/resets with ultimates now.I was playing around with SSJ3 GT Goku and doing this combo

Sure enough it does about 1400 damage meaning the SK did slightly under 1000,Same thing happens when you use it after fatigue as we all know
Next i tried
P,P,P* >P,K,K- K,K,K,K- ^E
Its reading 10 hitss all the way into the cut-scene but the damage numbers disappear.This lasts all the way up to the very end when the beam hits and right before the cut-scene ends it suddenly goes "2 hits 1500 damage"
What i believe happens is the game applies damage buffering onto cut-scene ultimates if you land them though "easy" methods ie HS Transformation stun or while they are in fatigue but if you combo into them in other ways THEN you get a re-set and full damage
Edit again-After more testing ive found that i this is right.Enjoy slightly more usable ultimates
