Title: Superbowl 2/2

O.O

Wow. Just wow. Reid is now addicted! Just wow!

Yeow - February 8, 2007 03:04 AM (GMT)
BAD BAD CBS/CM/whoever made that part of the story line up. Having Reid addicted to drugs isn't going to be good for the team.. I seriously don't like this road they are going down.

Special Agent Jentzer - February 8, 2007 03:08 AM (GMT)
that was awesome....great...... :o

just watched, by far the best two part show i've ever seen....

i remember how dissapointed i was when elle got shot, now 10 fold, my heart aches for reid. i could just turn off criminal minds...i'm choked...poor jj....i cried :(

frog786 - February 8, 2007 03:09 AM (GMT)
I still believe that Hotch and Gideon will watch him- someone has got to notice him. I think if there is a huge outcry against this that it'll stop shortly- I hope....

... we need a spoiler alert on this board

Special Agent Jentzer - February 8, 2007 03:16 AM (GMT)
JJ is not exactly doing very well either, and i'm sure garcia is a bit messed up

i'm totally torn on this.......i just want them to be smart, and clever and solve the crimes....not every 1/2 a season have my next new fave get shot, shoot someone, get the s*it kicked out of them, flat line, wake up, get addicted to drugs, kill someone again....its to much :(

will hotch notice??

Yeow - February 8, 2007 03:16 AM (GMT)
Who knows, maybe he just took them so that the team wouldn't know that the drugs had been used on him.

frog786 - February 8, 2007 03:18 AM (GMT)
I actually hadn't realized that Reid was dead until Gideon mentioned it- I thought he was having a seizure or something- boy was I wrong

and Yeow does have a point

.... perhaps he did do that- or perhaps the producers will do that after they see the large outcry against it. This way- if they thought it would increase ratings- they could make him addicted, or they could show that he was scared that the others found out that he had drugs used on him.

Special Agent Jentzer - February 8, 2007 03:19 AM (GMT)
the cpr sort of was when i noticed.....(slight attempt at humor) :P

Yeow - February 8, 2007 03:19 AM (GMT)
I agree with Jentzer. They should reveal a characters background like they did with Morgan. Not a traumatic event.

And I didn't know he was dead either, I also assumed seizure

I love this show! - February 8, 2007 03:20 AM (GMT)

Okay I hope that doesn't mean Reid wants to overdose himself and kill himself because of this or putting his mother away or anything

frog786 - February 8, 2007 03:22 AM (GMT)
I really don't see Reid has the kind of guy to kill himself- I just think that by taking the drugs it leaves the door open for the producers to do a whole bunch of stuff.

I love this show! - February 8, 2007 03:23 AM (GMT)
Yeah, but I don't like ANY of those possibilites!

Special Agent Jentzer - February 8, 2007 03:24 AM (GMT)
but he is smart and clever and ????????

and i don't really like any of those options either...

i also didn't really like elle blowing that guy away....i wonder how many fbi agents kill the unsubs....elle 2 reid 2 (does tobias and his dad count as two?)

I loved reid and his mom, those were great scenes

Maybe the producers were just waiting to see the reaction of the fans- if there is a negative turn to it- perhaps they'll just say- not gonna work, and alter the storyline a bit. They had said they were thinking about giving him a drug addiction. It's kinda like dangling a carrot in front of a rabbit and seeing if they like it- and the carrot really being like spinach. or something.

Yeow - February 8, 2007 03:29 AM (GMT)
What would he do with those drugs anyways? The only things I can think of are

1. He's addicted.
1a. He uses them , no one notices, something bad happens later
2b. He uses them, someone notices, he gets help

2. He hides them
2a. No one figures out.
2b. Someone figures out

True- all of those could happen. He could just take them, and then realize it was a mistake and fess up that he took them- break down in tears in front of gideon and make a really sappy ending to an episode.

I do agree that those were the two main routes- but you never know with drama writers these days :P

By hiding- I'm assuming you mean that he took them so noone would find out he had them used on him. I would then also assume that he would somehow get rid of them.

By the previews though (and it was really fast) it showed what looked like a bathroom stall with a foot that appeared to be very Spencer like- so perhaps he went to shoot up or something *shrugs shoulders*

Yeow - February 8, 2007 03:37 AM (GMT)
Ew, I totally missed the previews for the new episode. It's going to be a long week...

HA... how ironic, on CS:NY, they are talking about a drug that helps people forget things "It's currently being tested on victims of traumatic events." Reid could use some of those..

Kyle - February 8, 2007 03:38 AM (GMT)
all i know is that i'm very dissapointed!! our goody goody reid is no longer so good anymore. :( this is terrible!!

and i remember a member posting about how they heard that in the show reid was going to get addicted.. well, it seems that they heard right. :(

Glampire28 - February 8, 2007 04:00 AM (GMT)
I was watching it too and could not believe the whole drug angle with Reid. Maybe we will be learning more about the charcters, and will have new episodes and no more repeats for a while.

i hope so. the second "semester" always seems to have wierd hiatusses out of the blue, and reruns every other week. it's crazy. hopefully they won't be doing that this year, because i know it has killed shows in the past. (like commander in chief.. started with over 12 million viewers, went on three hiatuses and ended with only 3 million. :()

frog786 - February 8, 2007 04:04 AM (GMT)
Well next week is a new episode- I can tell you that- but other then that I don't know. If they were judging fan reactions to what was happening with the Reid/drug situation they might not have made them past that episode- in fact it wouldn't suprise me if not next week but the week after was a repeat (the new people won't know the difference right- *rolls eyes*) and then in 3-4 weeks we find out in a new set of episodes whether this whole Reid/drug situation is going to last for very long.

CriminalMindsFan - February 8, 2007 04:14 AM (GMT)
I think that Reid likes the drugs so much because he gets to relive events with his mother. I hope his addiction is short-lived and someone notices quickly. But you also have to remember JJ. It's not good if she's blaming herself for what happened to Reid. I also think she might have PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) from what happened with the dogs like when she saw one in the bathroom and from what happened to Reid.

Also, Prentiss has to be soulless not to even get teary eyed when they found Reid even though she's only been there a while.

Hew!!!

frog786 - February 8, 2007 04:17 AM (GMT)
I agree with Criminal - about well practically everything.

Prentiss just - especially in this episode, seemed pretty heartless. Even Morgan looked like he was going to break down and cry. Question- that whole scene in the previews where Morgan and Garcia hugged- I don't recall seeing. Maybe I was just so overwhelmed with the "Reid going addict" thing.

CriminalMindsFan - February 8, 2007 04:20 AM (GMT)
I know, I didn't see it either and I was looking forward to a touching moment.

frog786 - February 8, 2007 04:21 AM (GMT)
So I was talking to a friend of mine about the episode.. she told me the following:

"it would make life so much better. i think they would/should make him an addict think about it he will ruin his life by being an addict they will have to make the plot so much better!"

I personally am not following her line of thinking- but to each their own I guess

CriminalMindsFan - February 8, 2007 04:28 AM (GMT)
I don't agree with that either. I just hope everything gets back to normal. Also, when he was saying who he wanted to die I was hoping he would have said Prentiss and the guy would have actually followed threw on it. That also gor reinforced at the end when she showed no reaction at all.

Special Agent Jentzer - February 8, 2007 04:49 AM (GMT)
yes...can't we all have alittle lovin?? Someone grab JJ and tell her it's going to be ok.....morgan your girl needs a huge hug...hotch, assemble your team and show them you care.....tears any body.....prentiss....hello nobody is that cold??? :(

Yeow - February 8, 2007 04:59 AM (GMT)
My first thought about her having no emotion was that it has something to do with her past, and that she's somehow.. used to it. She can speak Arabic, and traveled alot.. maybe she witnessed something. It's kind of a random/unlikely scenario, but I don't think she's necessarily cold-hearted.

Interesting thought......that would at least be a different twist to a drug problem. And maybe J.J. will be the one to catch Reid having this problem and put an end to it. (quickly I hope) I really don't want the show to get too soap opera-ish.

KeepReidClean - February 8, 2007 06:20 AM (GMT)
:( Somebody HAS to help Reid.
I will not stand for this!

tglahn17 - February 8, 2007 07:07 AM (GMT)
Hi, everyone,

Reid is totally addicted. Dilaudid is a huge score for a junkie. That's what the Drugstore Cowboys were trying to score. It's not reasonable that Reid would take the vials so that the rest of the team wouldn't know that he was getting spiked. They'd see the needle marks in his arm. I think the show has just gone to another level. An even more awesomer level! Later,

hmr1126 - February 8, 2007 02:40 PM (GMT)
Oh my goodness!! The episode last night was amazing...the writers and actors did an awesome job!! I have to agree with you guys, I was totally bummed out about Reid taking the drugs from Tobias' pocket at the end...aargh!! I really hope that they don't give Reid a drug problem...I mean we are talking about really heavy drugs there...not something that could be resolved within like 2 episodes either. I can understand that they want to explore Reid's character, especially his relationship with his mother, but couldn't they do that without him getting addicted to drugs...it just seems that Reid would be too smart to go down that road...and not ask for help!

On that note, I do hope that they actually explore the issue, either he is addicted, or not or show some kind of struggle against it and not just leave the viewers hanging the way they dealt with Elle leaving the show...any thoughts?

moshpitpenguin - February 8, 2007 09:03 PM (GMT)
OH MY GAWD!!!

(i WAS TO LAZY TO LOG IN. SRRY.)

OH MY GAWD!~!!!

I don't want Reid addicted! AHH!!
Did anyone else notice that he wasn't wearing matching socks?
Yeh..
-laugh-
And in the end when he w\hugged everyone, I was like, "AWWW!!!"
And when the guy was whacking his foot, I thought he was using an axe and I nearly died.
And when the gun was pointed at his head, and he had to pick a member of the team, I covered my ears and hid in a corner, then made my brother tell me when it was over in case Reid died.
Ugh.
WAHH!!
POOR REID!!

CriminalMindsFan - February 8, 2007 09:56 PM (GMT)
Yeah, Mathew Gray Gubler (Reid) never wears matching socks :) and the one time he did he broke his ankle. It was on Meet MGG on the CM Season 1 special features. Everyone is talking about getting Reid some help which he needs but they also have to get JJ some help because after looking at the symptoms for PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) which I talked about in an earlier post and then rewatching the eppy she definitely has it. :(

hmr1126 - February 8, 2007 10:11 PM (GMT)
I agree - JJ has certainly been affected as well - it's lucky that they found Reid, otherwise she might be suffering from survivor's guilt as well.

I think that they will both need help (that's assuming that Reid is actually addicted to the drug)...poor Reid and poor JJ!

frog786 - February 9, 2007 01:15 AM (GMT)
I think even if Reid isn't addicted that he will need help... JJ there is no doubt will need help though. She practically thought Prentiss was one of those mean dogs when she was in the washroom

CriminalMindsFan - February 9, 2007 10:39 PM (GMT)
Than again, in my opinion, Prentiss was kind of a mean soulless dog to Reid when they found him.

I'm so mean.

I did not recall seeing the Garcia/Morgan hug either!!!!!! I was miffed it the first Garcia/Morgan hug!

ac5000 - February 10, 2007 07:32 PM (GMT)
they probably just put the Garcia/Morgan thing in there to draw some of their shipper fans in.
