For the last few months it seemd like Miranda couldn't catch a break to save her life, and today was no different. Today she was standing on the sixth floor in Seatte Grace, but not as a doctor. Her son had been throwing up for the past few days and when Miranda thought it was just the flu. However when he started throwing up blood and his fever was through the roof, Miranda knew something was way more serious. Not thinking like a doctor, but like a mother, Miranda rushed him to Seattle Grace late last night, where she has been ever since.

Looking through the glass window at her son sleeping, Miranda felt hopeless. The fact that, so far, no one knows what is wrong with him and the fact he is in so much pain is eating Miranda alive, and there's nothing she can do about it. Walking away from the glass so William couldn't see her, Miranda slid down the wall and placed her head in her hands. "Why is this happening to him and not me?" she kept quietly asking herself, trying to hold her emotions together.

jenni knew that she shouldn't be back at work, she had only had nate three weeks ago. she missed him like crazy and it was only her second day back. everyone had told her that she wasn't ready, that it was too soon but she was going crazy, she needed to do something and in truth, she needed the money more than anything. not that a lot of people knew that that was the main reason that she had come back to work, they would have told her that she was crazy. but the loans she had taken out years ago were catching up for her, but she refused to take the money off people who offered, it was her problem, she thought that she would be able to take it, but the problem is that she never thought that she would ever have to take a maternity leave that was as long as she had to take.

she had been working on the immunology side on peds as they thougth that it would be easier for her to handle. she also thought that it was down to the fact that she was the new mummy. but all it done was make the cases a million times harder to deal with than they used to. all she could think about was what her son could be in the position and it would kill her. she was reading on one of the charts when she saw miranda coming out the room that jenni knew her son had been in. closing the chart, she stepped around the nurses station and over to where the other female was. sitting down on the floor next to her, she looked over at her. hearing the words she was whispering to herself, jenni tried to come up with an answer. "because if you can get through it, it shows how strong you are." she pointed out to her, jenni's eyes staying on the other womans hands that hid her face.

Miranda heard someone speak to her as she slowly moved her hands and lifted her tear stained face up to the person talking to her - Jenni Thompson. She didn't know a whole lot about the young attending besides the fact that she just had a child and she's the woman that Mark cheated on Addison with, However, Miranda needed someone here for her right now, and it seemed like Jenni would have to do, even if she never understood why she would be with a married man.

"Not the point, the point is my son should not be in there" Miranda commented, slowly getting herself up off the floor and rubbing her face, going back to the window to look at William. "I am a doctor, I should've known it was more then the flu. I should have broguht him in sooner and then he would not have tubes in him and me wondering if he is going to live" Miranda whispered, loking at Jenni as she bit her lower lip; which was quivering. "I can't lose my baby, I can't"

maybe it wasn't the point but she didn't know what else to say. even if jenni had spent months worrying if she was ever going to have her son or if he was going to be ripped from her fingers. everyone knew who bailey was, it wasn't hard to know who she was but right now, she wasn't the person everyone described her as, she's a desperate mother that would do anything to protect their child, to take away the pain and stuggling they were dealing with. it was still hard to know what to say, bailey had it worse, she had had her son for years, got to know every single part of him, what he liked and what he hated. every single part of his body.

she stayed sitting on the floor as bailey got up, watching her. when she spoke for a second time, jenni slowly shook her head. "as a doctor you're told to think worse case scenario but when it comes to the people that you love and care for, you don't want to think about that. you want to think about what the best thing could be. it's not your fault." she pointed out, standing up as soon as she watched her lip quiver, taking a few steps over to her, she pulled her into her arms. jenni had always thought that she was small but she didn't feel so small now. "don't think like that, try to think positive. he's going to fight, children are a lot stronger than we give them credit for." she whispered, expecting to be pushed away at any moment.
