Mark didn't want Jenni to ever settle for being second best and Mark was not wanting to end it with Addison. Not because he loved her more,but for the fact that she was holding their kids over his head.His kids beat out Mark's need for happiness"If I didn't have kids with Addison I would have snuck you and Nate off to a deserted island weeks ago and we would be together.Nate wouldn't have Jacob,but it wouldn't matter because he would have you and I."Mark argued. He hated that Jenni seemed to think that it was Addison that Mark didn't want to leave.He loved his kids and he didn't want to do anything that would upset them and leaving their mother would upset them.Mark shook his head and looked at Jenni's back and said"If I didn't have kids,I would leave Addison and get down on one knee and propose to you."Mark figured maybe he should leave. He put his clothes back on and said"If you want me to leave,I'll go now."Mark wanted Jenni happy and if he had to leave for her to be happy,he would do that.

jenni nodded her head, feeling the tears roll down her cheeks, the whole of her body hurting but she couldn't acting like everything was fine, she couldn't do that. swallowing back the sobs that wanted to leave her lips. taking deep breaths, she tried to control how much she wanted to scream and cry. slowly turning around and looking into his eyes, struggling to breathe because she was just hurting all over. she hated being alone, she hated every single second of it before and it was going to be worse now. "just leave, i can't let you play with me because that is what you are doing no matter what you say. you're not going to leave her so there is no point." she told him, trying to wipe away the tears before they had the chance to fall, looking down at the floor, she wanted her baby, that was all that she wanted. "just go mark." she muttered, sitting down on the edge of the bed, her head still tipped down because she didn't want to look at him, it would just hurt more.

Mark couldn't believe she was doing this.Maybe it was for the best,but that didn't make it hurt any less.He got up off the bed and fixed his shirt so that the marks on his neck were covered. He was hurt but there was no way he was going to tell Jenni that"Give Nate a kiss from me."Mark told Jenni.Now he wished that Addison would come back to the hospital and keep him company for the rest of the night.Mark decided to go into his office. Maybe he would feel more like himself if he did that. He wanted to get back to the manogamous man that Addison had helped him be.Mark didn't say a word to Jenni as he made his way to the door and opened it. When he stepped out into the hallway,he let the door slam behind him and then he went to his office. This waqs the reason that he had embraced manogamy.Affairs hurt too much and Mark didn't want to be somebody's mistress and he didn't want himself to have a mistress.

as he spoke she nodded her head, moving on the bed so she was curled up in a ball, gripping onto the pillow. a loud sob leaving her lips just before she heard the door open. she had been sure in her mind that he had already left. jumping when she heard it slam a few seconds later, she cried so much, it had been so long since she had cried this much and it hurt so much. she knew that she shouldn't have gotten into this, they were just going to get hurt. she had given up jacob for him but she would have anyway without him but she was alone now and she didn't even have her son to hold and kiss. gripping onto the pillow, she tried to force herself to sleep but she couldn't, her eyes just stayed open, the tears stopping and sticking to her face, later drying against her skin. she was so scared to move because she felt like if she stayed still, she could pretend she was dead and feel nothing.
