I'm working on Bloodhound by Tamora Pierce at the moment. It's OK. Not one of her best, but certainly not her worst. Beka Cooper is off to another city to find colemongers (counterfeiters). This one contains less murder/death/violence than the last, but contains fictional cursing, multiple gods, and sexual innuendo (and un poco más), as does most of her books.
I've also picked up Just Jane by William Lavender, and it's about an English girl that goes to the American Colonies at the brink of the American Revolution (if you're thinking of the plot of Liberty's Kids, yes it is very much like the TV series). I'm not comfortable with the author's writing style. It sounds too formal for fiction (but then again, I'm reading it at the same time as Bloodhound, which is as informal is fiction can get), and a little bit out of its supposed era. It almost feels like it was written to take place during the Civil War, but then changed later. <_< EDIT: Not just Civil War... someone said /bully/ a while back. >,< Not TR's famous phrase (from 1900!)! Not cool. The wrong ness, the inaccuracy... *winces* This is why history majors should never be allowed near historical fiction (something we decided at work today). Want to know the worst part? It was written in 2002! I'd be OK if it was written in 1890, or 1920, or something like that, but 2002? Where does the author do his research? The childrens section of the library has more accurate information. EDIT again: *twitches* All I see is positive reviews online. >,< [/rant] OOH! I've been reading 1984 too, Eowyn, but I haven't picked it up in a while. |

I think I'm reading a bunch of books...
Currently, it's, yes, Peter Pan! ^_^ I like it, yet it's sooo different from the story of the movies, that which I'm used to. But it makes me laugh. Barrie's style is so strange, yet intriguing. I can't believe I've never read this before... Also, I was reading, but put on hold, Just Jane, by.... I don't even know who. Some Christian author. It's in first person, from Jane Austen's point of view and extremely boring, because all she does is complain and whine about her life at the moment. <_< But I got it for my birthday, so I figured I must read it. XD Lastly... I just finished Three From Galilee by Marjorie Holmes. It was sooooo beautiful! I adore her writing. The story was a little odd in some places, and I wasn't sure if I agreed with all the gaps she filled in, but it was very interesting nonetheless. |

I find it ironic that we're both reading books titled Just Jane... and I REALLY want to read Peter Pan... I've been a Peter Pan fan since I was a kid. :6:

My best friend got me Peter Pan when I was 9 or 10. I've read it a few times since then, but not recently. I should read it again. :)
Right now, though, I am reading Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. I just started it. It's 870 pages long. This is probably gonna take me a few days. |

XD Peter Pan's taken me a week, and I'm not even finished yet. No time... and when I do have time, I'm not in the mood to read. Something's wrong with me O.o
Lol, Owl, yeah... seems like a popular title to me =P Only I'm not really even reading it anymore... it's sitting on my shelf getting dusty at the moment  |
