it's been a while since we discussed about chatmonchy

so i just wondering does chatmonchy is the first all-girl 3-piece rock band? chatmonchy is really an awesome band that they're different from the others. chatmonchy is a legendary all-girl band and everyone here knows that. i realised this but i just want to say it that they are the cutest rock band in the world. their cuteness cannot be found in any other band except chatmonchy party0030.gif .

but i just discovered a band that might be the first 3-piece girl band

Kaidan Light

this is a visual kei band that was formed in 2002 but they are not popular anymore. i just listened 2 songs from them and i cant search for any other of their songs. their songs are punk i think.

so give ur opinions guys coz i'm not sure about it

Wedding Bell (very famous song) or Kiss ga ippai.

But we could mention also "Strawberry JAM" (since 2000) or "Yellow Machine Gun" (started in 1993), etc...

... and I think there MUST be lots of 3 girls bands who started even earlier, but I must be too young or not well informed to know it.

Don't forget Shonen Knife! They formed in 1981 and are still around making new music!

They even toured around the U.S. With Nirvana in the early 90s. Kurt Cobain was very fond of them.

From one reviewer:
QUOTE
...To be honest, it’s hard to find a band with such energetic, positive, and uplifting music, totally wild, spontaneous and with so many fucking incredible riffs.

Remind you of anyone?? laugh.gif

Shonen Knife even appeared on an episode of Music Japan with chatmonchy last year, with the show being available through JPOPSUKI: http://mullemeck.serveftp.org/jps_beta/ind...etails&id=49755

in america there have been girl groups in the past..but..usually they were singers only.... the group coors comes to mind but theres one guy in it.....the matter of all girl band member only or one...this or that may not be very important to the rock and roll hall of fame..whats really notable to me is a singer that can play guitar at the same time...so its a big talent. does she write the songs too ? th_066_Hi.gif

well if the person you mean was Hashimoto Eriko, then the answer would be YES. but from what i know, ecchan only wrote just a few songs compared to Kumiko and Akko-chan

Hashimoto-san still writes all the music. Fukuoka-san and Taskahasi-san write the lyrics, mostly- after the music is written. The lyrics are written to fit into Ecchan's music. cool.gif

There is japanese 3 piece band called stereopony who sang one of opening theme for Gundam 00. I am not a big fan tho...

Also, even though it is not 3 piece band, there was a band called ZONE. They were more like girl idol group and their instrumental playability is kinda questionable. Some of their songs are worth checking out tho smile.gif
